It's not often that urbex is truly epic, but in this case it really is. Brin and Senzuri explore this HUGE 30 story golden skyscraper which was abandoned during construction and try to climb up to the helipad on top. After checking out the amazing view of Shanghai, the duo descend to explore the millionaires luxury mansion below.

The whole complex was worth a whopping $93,000,000 and it was a hotbed for celebrities like F1 superstar Michael Schumacher who stayed here in 2005 before his accident. Inside there is luxury everywhere, however the black rot is setting in, and the building is starting to collapse.

The chapel is a distorted imitation of the world famous Florence Cathedral Chapel in Italy. The architectural style and even the colours would not lok out of place in an Italian city. What's more the interiors have elegant pews, an altar where Chinese couple could get hitched, and even a huge chandelier.

In this episode of Burbex, after five years of having passed this building, Brin finally manages to sneak into this abandoned-in-construction mall. Although the mall is largely empty, Brin discovers the CEO's secret office left in perfect condition since it was abandoned more than a decade ago. Inside the office there are shrines to Chinese deities, a poker table and photographs of a very strange funeral. What's more, the walls are covered in photos of the two CEOs over the years. What's more, down in the main atrium, where pawned cars are now stored, Brin finds the CEO's old car, left to rot since the early 2000s.

In this episode of Burbex, Brin travels to an abandoned village in a hidden valley in the agricultural heart of China. The village which is known as “Heroes River” was the inspiration for the Chinese classic novel “Bandits of the Marsh” in which a band of outlaws lives hidden from the outside world, venturing out to get Robin Hood style justice.

During the Chinese civil war, the valley was used as a communist stronghold, Mao’s soldiers hiding here guerrilla style. After the civil war the village became a symbol of brave Chinese communists, but in the last seventy years, the village has fallen into disrepair, and only the elderly remain. Brin finds communist slogans daubed on walls, and images of Chairman Mao above doorframes. The only question that remains is - where are all the old communists in this abandoned mountain stronghold?

Starting in the flooded basement, Brin finds all sorts of wildlife living within, but as he climbs higher in the darkness, he starts to feel more afraid of the climb. From the outside something feels a little uncanny about the structure, whose dimensions seem to change and make the chapel look much larger than it is. But that's not the only uncanny thing about it...

The chapel is a distorted imitation of the world famous Florence Cathedral Chapel in Italy. The architectural style and even the colours would not lok out of place in an Italian city. What's more the interiors have elegant pews, an altar where Chinese couple could get hitched, and even a huge chandelier.

In this vertigo-inducing episode of Burbex, Brin explores a huge tower block complex and shopping mall which was abandoned during construction. The complex has four HUGE towers which are ideal for fans of rooftopping, plus some cranes for Brin to climb up - always a good time. The complex was also due to link up with the newly opened Subway Station located at the base of the towers.

The complex is called 智富名品城 which means Smart Wealth Famous Product City and construction started around 2011 and due to complete in 2015, but seems like the developer expanded too fast and couldn't keep up. It now owes about 700 million RMB to a state-
owned company, not including 300 million in interest, and construction has ground to a rusting halt since then.

Shanghai’s loss of another shopping mall is Brin’s gain as he gets some great views of the city!

In this nautical episode of Burbex, Brin travels to skanky outskirts of Shanghai in pursuit of two unusual forms of marine transportation. That's right, in a Shanghai field in the middle of nowhere, he discovers two hovercrafts left to rust.

Boarding the hovercrafts, Brin tries to start them up again with little success, but marvels at the technology inside. Brin also mentions his favourite 007 which also features a hovercraft chase esacping from the North Koreans. Even though there are no North Koreans in his episode, Brin is always watchful.

In this episode of Burbex, Brin is joined by Nightbird and her best friend Zodiac camping in the an abandoned mountain village over the October Festival. Little do they know that there is a weirdo stalker watching them at night. Caught on camera, the stalker claims that he is a kung fu virgin, but admits that he has spied on other visitors, and even propositions Zodiac.

As if that wasn't enough action for the night, the next morning Brin gets up super early to explore the abandoned village, which belonged to a Nationalist clan before the Communists took over in the 1940s. The village was renamed and promptly abandoned, the residents either being murdered or outcast. The only person who remains is the weird stalker. Tune in to discover if he finally finds a mate!

In this episode of Burbex, Brin sneaks into one of the largest abandoned hotels he's ever snuck into. Surrounded by weird statues, and even a police car, he has to come up with a creative way to get inside which involves avoiding a whole lot of poop. Once inside he is joined by a friendly stray dog, and together the duo find abandoned bars with real Italian chandaliers, dozens of weird statues of children, and fantastic views of the area from the roof. What's really weird though is the outside.

The gigantic parking lot is full of hundreds of abandoned orange taxis and black and white VW Santanas which are typically used for driving schools. The best part though is that Brin finds all their keys stuck to the hoods of the cars and even manages to start one up. So the big question is, why are they sozens of abandoned cars with keys left at this huge empty hotel. Tune in to find out!

In this episode of Burbex, things get a bit odd when Brin discovers old SVHS tapes scattered on the floor in an abandoned factory in Shanghai. The factory was run by the Japanese company Uchino in the early 2000s, and used to produce towels and bathware, and there was a very strong Japanese influence at the plant.

As Brin explores he discovers workers dormitories, flooded basements, and all kinds of abandoned media like tapes, photos and even old hard drives. Of course, Brin was so curious that he got the SVHS tapes digitised, and he was sure glad he did, because some of the found footage from way back in 2002, is really weird!

In this episode of Burbex, Brin is released from his neighbourhood for 4 hours after two long months of lockdown. While most regular citizens are stocking up on food in endless queues at the supermarket, Brin and his loyal dog Qinka comtemplate escape from Shanghai by crossing the northern border.

Along the way they encounter abandoned trucks left in the middle of empty highways, packs of stray dogs looking for a meal, and even a security guard in a hazmat suit who has no problem sharing his undies with the rest of the world. In this episode of Burbex, Brin braves the pouring rain to sneak into a compound where an abandoned Boeing 747 has been left to rust. Originally the plane was used by China Eastern Airways, but later was sold to a film production company who used it as a film set. Later still, the plane found a new life as a paintball scenario, but now with Covid in full swing, it looks like nobody is flying home.
