Postcards are not merely a popular, effective form of communication for the promotion of tourism but also a potent mode of artistic production graphically and culturally. They are accessible, portable repositories of memory and, like artists’ sketches executed in situ en plein air, have an immediacy as a personal, intimate record of experience.
This 2nd China-Australia Dialogue Exhibition represents the further consolidation of our valued association with the China Cultural Centre based on our mutual commitment to fostering cross-cultural cooperation and creative interaction between artists and art institutions of China and Australia. We look forward to our continued collaboration to promote a deeper mutual appreciation of each country’s aesthetic traditions, cultural legacies and contemporary aspirations.
