Big thanks to OrangeHat, thebudderdanny, and all the charters who made it happen this year. I just started a new job last month, so I've been too busy to even contribute a chart. Plus, I've just been burnt out on CH in general. Anyway, I hope these charts bring you some joy this season. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Those 3 FCs are in this video as well as 35 other FC stats. The remaining 4 songs are ones I've already uploaded videos of:

Overall, I had a fun experience with the game. It gave me a bit of nostalgia just struggling with easier songs but also getting a sense of accomplishment by progressing quickly through multiple FCs. It reminded me of when I played GH5 after launch. Some of the grinds were frustrating, but thankfully CH had my back with practice mode since GHL doesn't have it. I might play more 6-fret in the future with GHTV relaunching, but I think I deserve a break from it for now.

Solo 2 - 3:29
This is the 2nd or 3rd hardest FC in the game according to most. I guess Solo 1 is the toughest "section" in the game? Which I say in quotes because there's no practice mode! Thank God for practice mode in CH because that's how I learned it!
I've still got a ways to go, but the FGFC is coming along nicely.

This video title is a slight misnomer. The song is Rip and Tear by L.A. Guns and was the 2nd hardest song to FC on GHTV, behind TTFAF of course. The difficulty stems from the insane 2nd solo that goes till the end of the song:
youtube.com/watch?v=haktqe2jZKA
That chart is way harder than this one. This is a 5-fret rechart that CaptainToasty made back in the GH3+ days. This didn't take me too long, but I figured I'd upload some CH content since I haven't in several months.

Audio is slightly off-sync from the chart due to funky calibration numbers (-10/-10 ms). Gotta love broken notes!

EDIT: As of 9/19/22, every single Rock Revolution expert chart (on-disc and DLC) has been FC'd on all instruments. After this FC, the final songs left were This Love and Mouth For War on drums, which were both FC'd by Chris Boddy:

Intro song is Progressive Baby by Daisuke Kurosawa, which is also Rock Revolution DLC.

Why has it stood for so long? Broken notes are the culprit, just like in I'm Broken. But instead of just 3 broken notes in one section, this chart has SEVENTEEN (17) of them spread throughout the song. Seventeen broken notes.
These broken notes are a bit different. In I'm Broken, they're all single notes followed so closely by another note of the same color that they're hidden from view. In this chart, they're all broken "chords", which are actually two single notes in such close proximity that they look like a single chord. They were intended to be charted as chords, but have to be strummed as two separate notes. For example, a broken GY "chord" has to be strummed as G then Y in quick succession.
If you'd like to actually see where all the broken chords are, I made this chart preview in CH as a reference. Timestamps are in the description: youtube.com/watch?v=p-hLQoU9rpo
And of course, there are some calibration shenanigans with this chart as well. Most of the broken notes seem largely unaffected by changing calibration settings and are possible to hit regardless. But there are a few in Chorus 1 and Verse 2 that become impossible or nearly impossible to hit depending on cal. The good news is that they're all possible on certain calibrations. In this run, I hit every single broken note, but sadly choked the outro. The bad news is that the 2nd broken note in Verse 2 is extremely difficult to hit on this cal (0 ms); I hit it in less than 5% of runs with pretty much the same technique and timing. It's actually luck-based. I was extremely lucky to hit everything this run... up until the outro.
To make matters worse, Rock Revolution's engine makes the other broken notes difficult as well. The game has zero strum leniency; you have to ensure that you fret before you strum a note. If you fret and strum at the same time, you're going to miss. That makes these broken chords tricky since the notes are so close together. Chorus 2 and the Bridge still cause me trouble for this reason. Even the outro is tough with its awkward chord changes, as evidenced by my miss.
I'm still attempting this. I took last week off but plan to get back to it soon. Now I have 2 approaches I'm switching between:
1) Experiment with different calibrations to find one that's more reliable.
2) Brute force grinding on calibrations I know to be possible, albeit extremely luck-based (0/0 ms, -10/-10 ms).
Wish me luck.
Twitch: twitch.tv/nunovh
I've actually been playing Rock Revolution again because I'm working on 5 Minutes Alone, the final DLC song that remains un-FC'd on guitar. It has a staggering 17 broken notes, including one in particular that doesn't like to behave in quickplay runs. It'll take a lot more calibration guessing and I can't guarantee that it's possible, but keep an eye out for progress on it.
You can revisit the original I'm Broken FC vid here, in case you're feeling nostalgic or something, idk.

Like I said at the end of the video, I had a -1 on this from 2014, but I wasn't exactly close to FCing then. That run had overstrums in the bridge and the missed note was in the solo lol. I FC'd the full bridge a few times over the years but never followed through with the grind until last week. I had three -1 runs on Wednesday, took a few days off, then got this within 20 minutes yesterday after warming up. Btw, adding 15 ms of video lag really helps.
Shoutout to Gal for the tip about the tempo increase on the yellows at 2:08. Everyone go bug him to upload some backlogged OMBFCs I'm sure he has. I'm also sure that he doesn't think much of them even though they're undoubtedly insane.

This Day We Fight is my next target. After that, I'll just have the big 4 left, which I'll revisit at a later time.
Twitch: twitch.tv/nunovh
It took a few days of grinding. I got pretty consistent at Speeding Riff 5 but I also had mental blocks in the Cornering riffs to overcome. Holding the Lead is still tricky thanks to WoR sliders not liking pre-anchoring, but I got decent at it. That choke at the beginning was from the day before I FC'd. And yes, it was caused by a lagspike. That's why I chose the Wormhole venue for the FC, just to be safe.
Shoutout to youtube.com/c/CyanCrayonGH for FCing this just a few hours before me lol
I'm planning on going for TTB and TDWF soon since they're the only WoR songs I have left outside of the big 4. Stay tuned.
Twitch: twitch.tv/nunovh
I debated whether or not this was main channel-worthy for me; the one-handing stuff isn't that fast even by my subpar standards. But it's an iconic, long song that I've been attempting off and on for a while and it still has some tricky patterns, so here you go.

The 2nd section was probably the hardest for me. I had to work out a really janky elbow strumming method for it. 0:53 and 2:49 also took some time to learn, but almost every section in the song is also tricky, which is why I bothered to Tech FC this in the first place. And it doesn't hurt that it's a great song. The long section starting at 3:11 sounds absolutely beautiful if you excuse my fret noise.
Shoutout to RandomDays, who encouraged me to Tech FC this (he also has a Tech FC) and plans to go for the FC at some point. Godspeed.

Yep, another full album/EP chart from Djent Hero Collection. This is the 3rd one I've FC'd since February! But it didn't come easy.
I started attempting this in early February just after I got Stillworld. I quickly became super consistent at the first 3 songs, but The Noticing proved problematic. It's the hardest song on the EP. It's not that hard on its own, but I seemed to have random misses all over it during runs. There are tons of grace notes to worry about, but the main issue for me was the 3rd solo at 15:48. Idk why, but I just always seemed to miss there. Even when I didn't, I still managed to choke after it 4 times, including twice in the last solo of Anime As Leaders (on the exact same note lol). I took a couple of weeks off recently, but did runs of this all the time throughout February and March until I got it last night.

I FC'd each individual song (and srfc'd all but two) about a month ago, but hadn't played this again till last night. I practiced the two missable sections I could remember (23:36 and 36:06), went to quickplay, and FC'd this 1st try lol. Most of it felt like sightreading because there was a ton of material I didn't recall. So yeah, this is much easier than Stillworld. And it's not a very hard FC overall; I just felt like adding the thumbnail for the "1-Part Tech FC" meme.
As for the music, it's a pretty cool djent album with some nu metal influence. I like some of the guitar effects. And it makes sense that a band called "Frostbitt" is from Norway lol. Each song title is snow/ice-related besides "Dragon", but based on the album cover, we can assume that it's an ice dragon. I wasn't familiar with the word "zastruga" before, but I guess they're like giant snow drifts in a frozen tundra. Think sand dunes, but snow. There's your vocabulary word of the day.
There aren't really any notable hard parts to watch other than the timestamps I posted above, but I'll still share the tracklist timestamps for anyone who's curious.
0:00 Frozen
5:05 Blizzard
8:32 Aurora
12:27 Icicle
16:14 Glacier
20:25 Avalanche
24:22 Dragon
29:05 Zastruga

Btw, I paused for a few minutes in two spots (before Glacier and during a short break in Crystal) to regain circulation in my left arm, so I trimmed the pause time out of the video. That's right; I spliced another full album FC vid ;)

There aren't really any hard parts in this; zero guitar solos. Just a lot of missable riffs and consistency checks. The grind only took two days after getting familiar with all the songs, but I still managed to get a 100% overstrum in Dead Roots and a choke at the beginning of Soul Sleep, the last song of the album. White Wolf is probably the hardest song since it has some tricky chords and riffs, but it's not too bad since it's only the third song.
Btw, I paused the run at 16:09 for a few minutes since my left arm felt tingly. I took a break to regain circulation and I removed those few minutes of pause menu from the video. So yes, this video is spliced ;)

Yes, of course it's a djent tune. My sightread was so bad that I didn't even finish the run. I couldn't combo the riffs without learning them. There are a few distinct sections within the hard part:
1:56 is a deceptively tricky pattern. Very redundant, but it goes on forever and it's easy to lose your strum rhythm. The transition into the following riff can also trip you up.
2:24 is the hardest section of the song, particularly when the chords kick in at 2:37. The strum pattern already demands focus, but on top of that you have to think about anchoring green after the GB chords except for the part in the cycle where you have to release both frets for an open note after the chord.
2:52 isn't too bad after learning the pattern and it's my favorite riff part of the whole song. What a badass riff \m/
3:20 is a free, nice little break
3:45 is difficult because it's such a long rhythmic pattern that I couldn't memorize the whole thing, so I had to rely partially on reading skills as well. I had two chokes here and still had a couple of near misses in this riff during the FC
Overall, this required a ton of focus, but it made for a fun challenge. The vid title is clickbait-y, but these are definitely the hardest djent riffs I've done in an FC.
I requested a chart of this from Zantor for the Djent Hero Collection packs and they delivered! Big thanks to him and ACJGaming89 for charting this. I had no idea it would be so difficult lol. You can download DHC Pack #8 here:

The song is NeKoMaJiN Vs by Nuito and it's some of the craziest math rock I've ever heard. Every section is new and unexpected. There are miss spots pretty much everywhere, but the main hard parts are 3:17 and the outro starting at 5:06.

I wanted to make this montage to show some love for previous holiday overcharts that might not have gotten much attention. I recorded one section from every single song in the first 3 packs. I wanted to go through the 2020 pack as well, but ran out of time. Maybe I'll do another montage like this next year.
This was a fun challenge because it forced me to attempt sections I wouldn't normally go for (and I think it gives the montage some variety). Yes, there are some insanely difficult overcharts that made me opt for easy sections in them because they were among the few parts I could hit... but in most cases, I think I got some good sections, including a few of my best section FCs.

An early Christmas present or a belated Hanukkah gift for you! This is the 5th annual Holiday Overchart Pack (but technically the 6th year I've been making these overcharts). Back in 2016, I wanted to chart "All I Want For Christmas Is You", but I didn't think a regular chart would be that fun. I didn't imagine my overchart of that would eventually turn into an annual community project, but I'm glad it did.
I'd love to see full song FCs/runs, section FCs, and montages of these charts and charts from previous packs! I'll even be uploading a montage or two of these soon...

It's not a bad song (his best production-wise for sure), but it feels unnecessarily long and there aren't enough interesting sections to play. The hard bits thrown in are one of the following:
chordy stuff (no issues with this)
machinations bits (3:32 - 4:00 and 16:18 - 16:38)
fast strumming bursts (23 nps, which almost requires raking)
extended sustain hell (annoying to read; not usually fun to play)
And there's one short tapping part. I'm not saying this needed tapping sections or even more hopo stuff; just let us have more fun in 20 minutes lol.
Twitch: twitch.tv/nunovh
So the main thing that annoyed me about this run was missing in the first "solo" since my score would've been much higher even with a 100% OS in that section. Otherwise, I was pretty happy with this run overall and had some good streaks. Although the miss count (-50) isn't that impressive considering I can't strum 27 nps or whatever the peak speed is lol.
Twitch: twitch.tv/nunovh
Good luck.

My Discord server had a solo charting contest again and we compiled all the entries into this single-song solo medley. This time, we charted the infamous solo from Constant Motion by Dream Theater (now with synth solo charts!)
Enjoy.

I used my Xplorer since my wiitar's been having occasional overstrum issues. Hopefully its clackiness doesn't distract too much.
There's also a bonus FC just because I love the song so much. Don't Light My Fire by Otoboke Beaver. It's wild and I'm so glad Chezy charted it.

This particular community FGFC was admittedly a hot mess organizationally; I only signed up for a few songs but ended up repeatedly subbing for other players and ended up doing 9 songs lol.
I had to label timestamps without the actual song names to avoid getting blocked.

The fun stuff starts at 3:44 and goes till the end. 3 fast trills and then a long one leading into some tough patterns at the end, including one final BO trill that's easy to miss. As you can see, my first serious attempt resulted in an overstrum from me zoning out after being surprised at hitting all the hard stuff lol. I was not a happy camper.

This isn't like Chiasm 2018 where only a few chart elements were changed; the song has several added or different sections which alter the chart drastically. The keys intro has been added to this chart, there's an extended drum solo (you should check out the new drum chart: youtube.com/watch?v=7WFOfRwM_CI), the guitar solo is much longer with new solo sections, then there's a new spooky section before the final chorus that resulted in the chokes you see at the beginning of the video. And this version sounds even better than the original with all the updated VSTs and changes.
I tore through many Chaotrope RBN charts on CH 2 years ago but stopped when I hit some roadblocks. I'm thinking about revisiting those charts since more are possible for me now, so be on the lookout for those.

After that, I grinded out Satch Solo D since I'd never hit it before. My previous best on the section had been a -3 since 2012 lol. I'd gotten -3's every time I tried it over the years until 2 days ago, when my butterfly tapping (2-finger RH trill tapping) suddenly improved and I got a few -1s. It took me about 2 hours over the past 2 days to FC it once. Your tapping and anchor-changing has to be absolutely flawless; no overtaps and perfectly even tapping throughout the trill. No, I won't be attempting a Satch FC anytime soon, but I'm pretty satisfied with my 85/86 FCs and a full game tech FC.

This concludes my GH2 rampage for now. I'm sitting at 69/74, missing Misirlou, Six, Hangar 18, Jordan, and Trogdor. I also have a full game tech FC outside of Six's Intro and Trogdor's solo, both of which I've gotten -1s on. For Misirlou and Six, I'll probably be attempting those on PS2 someday since the strum limit is a bit more forgiving, but I have to get a well-functioning PS2 guitar first. My current one seems to drop inputs or something; that's why my GH1 and GH80s FC counts are so low. Hangar 18 and Jordan will take quite a bit of practice and grinding. I'll only worry about Trogdor if I get those other 4 FCs; then I'll look into getting Swap Magic or just emulating the PAL version to make the FC possible. There are still quite a few barriers, but a GH2 FGFC actually seems possible at some point for me.
