AntiHR® an HR ConsultancyTabitha Brown, 9-to-5 Jobs & the Truth About Black Women Leaving the Workforce
Recently, Tabitha Brown shared her thoughts on entrepreneurship and suggested some people may need to go back into the workforce and get a 9-to-5 job. While I understand where she was coming from, the reality is very different for Black women right now.
Since February 2025, over 300,000 Black women have left the workforce — not by choice, but because of discriminatory, hostile workplaces and targeted federal job cuts. Black women are the most educated demographic in the U.S., yet we remain the lowest paid. Our excellence exposes mediocrity — and what we’re facing now is a white-lash designed to push us back.
In this video, I break down: • Why Tabitha’s comments hit differently in this economy • How Black women are being pushed out of the workforce • The role of media dog whistles in stoking fear and division • Why building multiple revenue streams isn’t optional — it’s survival

The Occupant of the White House is asking the Supreme Court to uphold an executive order that denies birthright citizenship to children born in the U.S. to immigrants — even lawful permanent residents.
If a president can rewrite the Constitution by executive order, then no one’s rights are safe. This isn’t just about immigration — it’s about your future, your workplace rights, and your ability to make choices for yourself.
That’s why I created my Entrepreneurship 101 Webinar Series: to help you build options, protect yourself, and create freedom in a system that’s becoming more hostile by the day.

The occupant of the White House and his regime are refusing to negotiate — and this fall’s government shutdown may be unlike any other before it. This time, it’s not just about furloughs. Plans are being drawn up for mass firings, especially targeting federal employees who don’t fit the MAGA mold.
And let’s be clear — when this shutdown ends, thousands of workers may not have jobs to come back to. People who look like us, especially Black women, will be hit the hardest.
In this video, I break down: • Why this shutdown is different — and part of the Project 2025 playbook • How the Republican-controlled government plans to use it to purge federal employees • The devastating ripple effect on the DMV region and beyond • Why workers over 40 — especially over 50 — must prepare now • And how consulting, side hustles, and entrepreneurship may be the only viable safety net

Do you really know your worth? Because once you step into small business ownership, people will try to make you question it every single day. Discounts, free work, extra services—things they’d never ask of anyone else. And if you’re not grounded in your value, entrepreneurship can become more stressful than freeing.
I deal with this every single day—most often from people who look like me, even other Black women. But here’s my stance: my price is my price. Period.
In this video, I’m breaking down why knowing your worth is non-negotiable if you want to succeed as an entrepreneur. I’ll also share how I navigate undervaluation in my own business and why I refuse to compromise my time or my value.
This topic ties directly into my Entrepreneurship 101 Webinar Series. The next session, “Part 2: Setting Up Smart (Without Wasting Money)”, happens on October 2. I’ll be sharing exactly how I set up my business, the mistakes I made, and what I wish I’d known sooner.

What happened to Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t “cancel culture.” When the FCC chair threatened ABC and Nexstar to “do something” about him, and his show was pulled soon after—that’s government interference with free speech.
Cancel culture is when a company decides to distance itself from someone because of brand risk—like when ABC fired Roseanne Barr for her racist comment about Valerie Jarrett. That’s not a First Amendment issue.
But when the government pressures networks or employers to silence people? That’s a constitutional violation. And it’s dangerous.

Brothers and sisters — while they are busy making America great again, we need to get about the business of making reading great again.
In this video, I break down why there is such a dangerous gap in critical thinking and listening, especially in our community — and how social media is rotting our brains. From the Tabitha Brown situation, to the attempts to make Charlie Kirk a martyr, to censorship on the “clock app” and beyond, the signs are everywhere. If we don’t start reading again, we risk becoming easier and easier to manipulate.

September 17, 2025 may be remembered as the day democracy ended in America.
After CBS Paramount canceled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert despite high ratings — following its 60 Minutes payout involving the occupant of the White House — the occupant declared Jimmy Kimmel would be “next.”
Now, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been pulled from ABC after license threats, pressure from Nexstar and Sinclair (two of the biggest station groups with many ABC affiliates), and the weight of billion-dollar mergers awaiting FCC approval.
This isn’t just about late-night television. It’s about money, mergers, corporate compliance, and the erosion of free speech. And it’s about how you may experience the fallout in your own workplace.

In this video, I ask the perennial Black folk question: “Who all gon be there?” It’s not just about heaven. It’s about walking into spaces where we know the dynamics — whether that’s corporate America, church, or the promise of eternity.
Because if heaven looks like corporate America — full of racism, misogyny, microaggressions, tone policing, and gaslighting — then is that really heaven at all?

It’s time for Black women to stop internalizing racist tropes about ourselves — especially the “angry Black woman” one.
Too many of us are shrinking smaller and smaller, tolerating abuse, and afraid to stand up for ourselves because of how they might label us. Let me be clear: you have the right to stand up for yourself. And if they want to call you angry or aggressive? That’s their red wagon, not yours.
In this video, I’m breaking down why we must stop protecting them more than we protect ourselves, why documentation is your weapon, and why entrepreneurship has to be part of our exit strategy from the American workplace plantation.

We recently saw Kelly Price use “DEI hire” as a slur against Black women. Let’s be clear: when racist white people say “DEI hire,” what they really mean is “you don’t belong here.” But that’s a joke, because Black folks are last hired and first fired — and we’ve just seen more than 300,000 Black women pushed out of the workforce, many of them highly qualified federal workers.
And here’s the truth: the people who’ve benefited most from DEI hiring have actually been white women. So when folks try to weaponize DEI against Black people, that’s pure gaslighting.
At the end of the day, I’ll take being a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hire over being WEI — White, Entitled, and Ignorant. The U.S. economy is being crashed by WEI. Our cities are being militarized, invaded, and terrorized by WEI.
Ask yourself: what kind of person thinks DEI is bad, but WEI is good? That tells you everything you need to know.
👊🏾 It’s always better to be DEI.

Kelly Price got on Beyoncé’s Internet in a bonnet and let loose. She called Black women “nasty,” “disrespectful,” and even “DEI hires.” She said critics are just “keyboard thugs” and claimed a degree doesn’t equal class — all while insisting she’ll still sell out shows.
In this video, I break it down with nuance: • The truth behind some of her critiques • Why her delivery caused real harm • How body shaming and ridicule have shaped her hurt • Why skinfolk ain’t always kinfolk — and what that means in the workplace
Because this isn’t just about Kelly Price. It’s about the people you encounter at work every day — people who carry their own hurt and sometimes pass it on to you.

When a new supervisor steps in, everything at work can change overnight. For Black women especially, job insecurity is real — and the truth is, you can’t afford to wait until you’ve lost your job or burned out completely to start thinking about your future.
In this video, I’m sharing a real discovery call story that shows why you need to start building your side hustle while you’re still employed. I’ll also share my own experience leaving my job and moving abroad — and why it wasn’t “luck” that made it possible, but planning.

Grace should be earned, not handed out like Pokémon cards. Yet Black people — especially Black women — are constantly conditioned to forgive, “turn the other cheek,” and let mistreatment slide in workplaces, in public spaces, and even in the face of violence.
In this video, I break down why it’s time to STOP giving grace to people who haven’t earned it: • Taylor Townsend vs. Ostapenko — why she carried herself with grace when the other player didn’t • The double standards that keep Black women from ever being allowed visible anger • How the pressure to “be forgiving” shows up at work, even after discrimination and abuse • The truth about documenting workplace mistreatment instead of ignoring it • Dylann Roof’s Charleston church massacre and the demand for forgiveness — even in tragedy
✨ This is exactly why I created the AntiHR Documentation Journal — because employees, especially Black women, aren’t documenting workplace abuse effectively. Don’t give anyone grace when they’ve disrespected you. Document it, keep it, and use it when it matters most.

I also share a real discovery call story where someone tried to “correct me” with artificial intelligence (AI)—and why that told me everything I needed to know about their personality. This ties directly into my lesson as an entrepreneur: knowing who your ideal clients are, and why all money ain’t good money.
Finally, I’ll give you a preview of my upcoming Entrepreneurship 101 Webinar Series (open to the public on September 1). Annual AntiHR Community members get access free, and Monthly members get 50% off.

Why I’m Holding the LineAntiHR® an HR Consultancy2025-08-29 | Are We Still Not Shopping at Target? Why I’m Holding the Line
The question is: are we still not shopping at Target?
For me, the answer is no — I don’t think we should be returning to Target. In this video, I explain why. Target’s rollback of its DEI initiatives in January 2025, followed by the CEO “bait-and-switch,” shows us exactly where they stand.
This video dives into: • Why Target once mattered to Black consumers • The betrayal of dropping DEI initiatives and ending REACH • Why this is tied to the current White House’s attack on Black progress • The bait-and-switch of Brian Cornell stepping down but moving to Board Chair • Why this betrayal stings more than Walmart or Amazon • My personal boycott story and why I won’t shop there again • The bigger picture: what this means for us and why we must hold the line

Tayler Townsend shocked the tennis world at the US Open when she beat top-25 player Yelena Ostapenko. Instead of losing with grace, Ostapenko went full Karen playbook: • Calling Townsend “uneducated” and “classless” • Getting dragged across Instagram for her racism and poor sportsmanship • Then trying to flip the script and make herself the victim 👀 (the only step left is crying on video — and let’s be real, that might be coming soon)
Black women know this story well. Whether in sports or in the workplace, the playbook never changes. And here’s the real question: would the reaction be the same if Townsend had beaten a white American player who behaved like Ostapenko?
➡️ Moments like this remind us why we can’t rely on systems that were never built for us. We need to create our own power and freedom — and entrepreneurship is one of the most effective ways to do that.
That’s why I created my Entrepreneurship 101 Webinar Series. The first session starts September 18, and the registration link will drop on September 1. I’ll share an announcement when it’s live — so if you aren’t already subscribed to my website, make sure you are 👉🏾 theantihr-hrlady.com

Family, it’s open season on Black women in positions of authority — from Congress to the courtroom to the Federal Reserve.
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has been gerrymandered out of her own district in Texas. New York Attorney General Letitia James is being dragged into baseless “mortgage fraud” investigations after securing felony convictions against the current occupant of the White House. Lisa Cook, the first Black woman on the Federal Reserve Board, is being threatened with removal under the same false charges.
And this isn’t happening in isolation. Over 300,000+ Black women have already been pushed out of the workforce in 2025 — and the year isn’t even over yet. This is not coincidence. This is policy.
In this video, I break down: • The real-time attacks on Black women leaders (Crockett, James, Cook) • Why “mortgage fraud” is being weaponized as a political tool • How the so-called “Weaponization Department” is targeting us • The purge of Black women from government roles in 2025 • Why these attacks affect ALL of us — from Congress to corporate America • How this is not just political warfare, but economic warfare • The solution: building our own tables and businesses

From the 13th Amendment’s “punishment clause” and the prison industrial complex, to voter suppression and gerrymandering, Black people have never truly lived in a democracy in America. In this video, I break down how these systems work, what’s happening right now in Texas, and why your rights in America are really just civil permissions that can be taken away with every change in power.
In this video, I cover: • Why slavery never ended — it just changed forms • How the 13th Amendment still keeps millions in chains through incarceration • The truth about gerrymandering in Texas and the Supreme Court’s 2019 ruling (Rucho v. Common Cause) • Why “civil rights” are really just “civil permissions” • What this means for the workplace, especially for Black people and Black women • Why entrepreneurship and building within our own communities is one of the few real paths to freedom

Over 300,000 Black women have left the U.S. workforce in 2025 — some pushed out by toxic workplaces, some choosing to step away on their own terms.
But here’s the truth: whether you’re navigating life after corporate or starting something new, the right people will find you. You don’t have to force every conversation into a sale. You don’t have to chase customers. You simply need to stay consistent with your message, know who you are, and trust that your audience will align with you.
In this video, I share a recent conversation I had with a friend about: • Why I don’t try to “convert” every call into a client • How to think about your ideal customer • The connection between Black women leaving the workforce and the rise of entrepreneurship • Why your business doesn’t have to be for everyone — just the right people

In this storytime, I share a lesson I learned in Corporate America and international development: the real power of composure.
As Black women, we are rarely given the freedom to show anger or frustration at work—even when it’s deserved. Instead, our emotions are too often weaponized against us. But here’s the truth: while we can’t afford to lose our cool, we can use their inability to control themselves to our advantage.
In this video, I share how a real workplace situation taught me why composure is one of the strongest tools you can carry into a toxic environment—and how to use it to flip the script.

I’m Anne-Marie of The AntiHR. On this channel, I talk about HR, workplace rights, and how to assert those rights if they are being violated. I also cover current events that intersect with those issues—because the same dynamics that play out at work often show up in politics and business too.
In today’s video, I’m breaking down two major stories: • New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell — the first Black woman mayor of the city — indicted on federal charges while still in office. • Fawn Weaver & Uncle Nearest Whiskey — the celebrated Black-owned brand now in receivership after defaulting on $108M in loans.
These cases remind us of a hard truth: when you’re Black in positions of power, you don’t get the same grace that others do. The leash is shorter, the consequences harsher. So the question is: why should we expect grace at all?

I love HBO The Gilded Age — the drama, the costumes, the storytelling. And yes… I call George Russell “Railroad Zaddy.” 😏
But the REAL Gilded Age (1870s–1900) wasn’t just glamorous. Beneath the luxury and style was crushing poverty, political corruption, and a system designed to protect the wealthy at everyone else’s expense.
Black people lived under Jim Crow in the South and second-class citizenship in the North. Workers had no protections, no rights, and no safety. “Robber barons” bought politicians like chess pieces. Two major depressions, the Panic of 1873 and the Panic of 1893, threw millions out of work. Tariffs kept certain industries protected but raised prices for everyday people.
Sound familiar?
Today we’re seeing the same playbook: • Shrinking middle class • Tariffs that benefit the wealthy while hurting workers • Billionaires influencing politics • Unions under attack • Political corruption that undermines trust in basic data (yes, I’m talking about the recent firing of the BLS head)
This isn’t nostalgia — it’s a warning. And especially as Black people, we cannot fight what’s happening if we are divided.
That’s why I created the AntiHR Membership Community — a space not owned by the modern Gilded Age elite, where we can have real conversations, share strategies, and protect ourselves.

So far in 2025, 300,000 Black women — the most educated and credentialed group in America — have been pushed out of the workforce. And the year isn’t even over.
This isn’t random. It’s deliberate. And it’s a warning for every worker who thinks they’re safe.
In this video, I break down: • Why Black women are being targeted in layoffs • The illusion of DEI protection and why it never truly shielded us • How layoffs are often about bias and ego, not performance • The devastating ripple effect when Black women disappear from the workforce • Why this is economic warfare — not just “budget cuts” • What you must do NOW to protect yourself and your career

Your reference list isn’t just a formality—it’s a strategic tool. Whether you’re job hunting, planning your exit from a toxic job, or just staying ready, your references can work for you—or against you.

A Wake up Call for all of us.AntiHR® an HR Consultancy2025-07-25 | Are we still minding our business — or have we forgotten what that really means?
In this critical conversation, I’m breaking down what it means to mind your business with intention — and why unity across the African diaspora is not optional in this political moment. If you’re Black in America, you are not safe because of your origin story. This regime does not care if your people came on a slave ship, cruise ship, or scholarship. They only care that you’re Black.
We’ve got to look out for each other — at work, at the polls, in the streets — strategically and intentionally. Because if we don’t understand that everything that happens to one of us is all of our business, none of us will make it.
🛑 Stop falling for the distractions and division. 🖤 Start protecting your people like your survival depends on it — because it does.
⚠️ This video is not legal advice. It is strategic insight rooted in 30+ years of HR experience and community care.

In this video, I’m sharing my final HR takeaways on three recent stories that raise serious issues about race, retaliation, reputational risk, and workplace survival.
These aren’t just celebrity stories. They’re real-life reminders of what many of us experience at work—especially Black professionals navigating power dynamics in hostile, unequal systems.
🔥 What I cover: Andy Byron & Coldplay: When white male entitlement turns into scandal, bystanders—especially Black employees—often suffer consequences too. I talk about how to protect yourself from the fallout of someone else’s misconduct.
Shannon Sharpe’s Settlement: A chance to discuss why severance and settlement agreements matter, and how they can help you protect your reputation and exit with dignity.
Khaby Lame’s ICE Detainment: A powerful reminder that not everyone around you has your best interests at heart, especially when they don’t look like you. Visibility ≠ safety.
I'm not offering legal advice—but I am giving you 30+ years of HR knowledge to help you move strategically.

Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, was caught on the kiss cam at a Coldplay concert—hugged up with someone who’s not his wife… but is the chief HR officer at his company. 😬
Let this be a reminder: Don’t get your honey where you make your money. And if you do, maybe skip the public events with cameras.
His “statement” didn’t apologize for a thing—but it did hint that he might try to come for Coldplay.
As for the HR lady… ma’am, I hope you’re updating LinkedIn.

In this video, I’m sharing a personal story about how I dealt with a situation that far too many Black professionals — especially Black women in leadership — face: weaponized anonymous feedback. I break down what happened to me, how I protected myself, and most importantly, what you can do if you’re ever forced to respond to vague, biased, or downright false anonymous comments about your performance or leadership.
Whether it comes from an employee survey, an exit interview, or a “confidential” report, anonymous feedback is often used to undermine Black leaders. You’re told to treat it like fact — but you don’t have to.
This video is part storytime, part survival guide — and it’s a must-watch for any employee navigating this kind of toxicity at work.
💡 In this video, you’ll learn: • How I responded when anonymous feedback was used against me • The exact steps I took to protect myself professionally • Why documentation is critical • How to request clarification without sounding defensive • What you should NEVER do in this situation • How to protect your peace and your power

Recent photos of Oprah & Gayle vacationing with Kris Jenner, and news of Serena & Venus partnering with X (yes, Elon Musk’s X),
These are your latest reminders: all skinfolk ain’t kinfolk —
Too often, we put people on pedestals at work or anywhere else just because they look like us or share a background. But proximity doesn’t always equal solidarity.
This is your reminder to stay clear-eyed. Don’t assume someone has your back just because they share your identity. Protect your energy and your career by assessing allies through their actions, not appearances.
💼✨ Stop idolizing folks at work or anywhere else — focus on building genuine, trustworthy connections instead.

White supremacy: It doesn’t just harm Black Americans — it also deeply shapes anti-Blackness within the Black immigrant community. In this video, I break down how colonialism and global anti-Blackness fuel biases that show up at work and beyond, and what Black immigrants need to do to build real solidarity with Black Americans.
This is a long-overdue conversation on my channel, and it ties directly to the rising nativism among some Black Americans. We can’t build unity without confronting these hard truths.

There’s a dangerous rise of Black nativism happening right now — movements like ADOS and FBA claim to protect Black Americans, but in reality, they promote exclusion and division based on lineage.
In this video, I break down how these ideologies don’t just harm our communities — they show up at work, weaken solidarity, and ultimately serve white supremacy. I also discuss the importance of unity across the black community, especially now, and how to protect yourself using documentation and your legal rights.

In this Makeup Chronicles video, I talk about why critical thinking is not optional — it’s essential for our survival, especially as we face the rise of authoritarianism and fascism under Trump 2.0.
Social media is overflowing with misinformation and disinformation designed to confuse us and keep us divided. We must learn to tell shit from sugar, or we risk losing everything as a Black community and as a society.
It’s time to sharpen your mind and question everything.
