Pokemon Red Beta Song Found! (New) Koolboyman 2012-01-16 | A simple song I located within the Pokemon Red ROM about a week ago made by Junichi Masuda. No pointers point to it so I had to re-point an existing song for it to play properly. The song is appeared damaged with low volume and inproper octaves so I had to fix those. If you want to hear the damaged verison in the game yourself, grab a hex editor like hex workshop (which you can find by simply googling it) and edit these variables: 0x822E - 0x40 0x822E - 0x13 0x822E - 0x69 0x822E - 0xCF 0x822E - 0x69 The addresses to the actual song are: Channel 1: 0xa913 Channel 2: 0xa9cf I theorize this was made to test the music engine. I have a feeling in my gut that it belonged to another gamefreak game. If anyone knows if this song exists in other games, let me know please.

First Attempt at a Quality Super Mario World Level (Vanilla) Koolboyman 2012-04-29 | You've seen me make bad Super Mario World levels on purpose. However this time is different, I actually tried! (Mario's Trip to Hell doesn't count as a serious attempt) There was this little contest on JUL to make a vanilla level. A vanilla level means you can only use what the game provided you, so no fancy ASM stuff for me this time! I thought of it as a challenge because I was solely focusing on the game design which I think I'm lacking in. It was a step out of my comfort zone, but I did learn some things by "making a hack" of a game I usually don't touch.The Midpoint is close to the end because I ran out of time to finish the second half. Level 5 - Psyko Pig really become Psyko because they throw other heads at you. Level 6 - A couple of platforms, nothing too exciting Level 7- Arctic Caverns without the GBA graphics. Level 8 - Mode 7 area which was meant to temporally use the Diddy Kong Pilot graphics. It would be used for racing sections like Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge III.

You can hear one of the melodies that ended up in the final version, in this piece. Worlds first Custom Banjo-Kazooie Map Koolboyman 2010-10-31 | Spent my Saturday working on this. There's many things I still don't understand about Banjo-Kazooie's map format, so I'm just taking baby steps with this (which is why this map is simply a cube). There are no map editors for Banjo-Kazooie. This was all done 100% with hex workshop and Subdrag's GEDecompressor. This was all for fun, I have no plans to make a full Banjo-Kazooie hack. Another Crappy ROM Hack I made: Marios Trip to Hell (2002) Koolboyman 2010-03-21 | I discovered Lunar Magic, and used it to totally destroy the game. Cut off tiles, glitched graphics, blatant level edits, glitches like crazy especially at the end. You'd have to be a total idiot to think this was a good hack. Goat Massacre Koolboyman 2007-08-25 | I stumbled upon a crappy mod by Wisdom Tree (a company that only makes games based off of the bible). Basically Super Noah's Ark 3D is a modification of Wolfenstein made, altered to include moses and goats. You "feed" the goats some crap and they go to sleep. It's basically the same damn game. What pissed me off was these goats hurt like hell, much faster and harder than the original enemies from Wolfenstein 3D. Since I was bored, I changed Noah to the guy from Wolfenstein, so you can actually shoot those damn goats. They still "fall asleep", but just pretend they are dying then they do die. I should of added blood, damn it. I still die :/. Well enjoy.
