Or it's a mini-show, rather. The music is "New Home" by Mattias (.Haku) and was originally made for Card City Nights, also by Ludosity.
The footage was recorded from within the Unity Editor, hence the slightly higher resolution than in-game, but the text is still a bit blurry. Sorry about that.
It's time for more prototypes, more nonsense, and even a game from 2009 I thought was lost forever.
The trailer music is "Karax Slaughter Tyrant Overlord Final Desolator From The Eighty-Seventh Murder Dimension" from PAGE: Wizardrealm III: The Final Frontier: This Time It's Personal: It's Pageback Time in the Scrap Pack, and was loosely based on "Totalimmortal" by AFI. The music at the end is "Nörds in Space" from Planets, also in the Scrap Pack. I made the songs in MilkyTracker with instrument help from Mattias Hakulinen.A look at Iji 0.3 (with captions) - Remar GamesDaniel Remar2018-09-01 | Download Iji 0.3 (found in the "Other" category): https://www.remar.se/daniel/resources.php Download Iji 1.8 and my other games: https://www.remar.se/daniel/games.php

By request, these are recordings of the songs from Strawberry Jam chapter 1 and Rotnip Dungeon (from Scrap Pack 4) without the ambient noises and sound effects. The games do not use ordinary music files, but rather play back a sequence of sound effects in-game.
Sorry for the occasional pop and scratch, I had some trouble during recording. Honestly, these songs sound very cheap when you listen to them outside the games... normally the music during the battle with The King is synched with the distant sound of the Machine. Also, Rotnip Dungeon reuses most of the instruments from Strawberry Jam.Scrap Pack 4 trailer - Ludosity & Remar GamesDaniel Remar2018-01-14 | Download: https://www.remar.se/daniel/scrappack4.php

The trailer for chapter 1 of Strawberry Jam, a short but replayable platforming text adventure. The game took about a year to make, but the work was spread out over a period of seven years, during which I mostly made a bunch of other games instead. I don't know if I'll make the remaining chapters at this point, I'm just glad the first one is finally done.
This trailer took about 12 hours to make, most of which was spent modifying a version of the game for recording and fiddling with the timing and sound. It was recorded using Fraps 3.2.2 and edited with ancient versions of VirtualDub and GoldWave.
There were forward references to this game in Iji (in a secret terminal) and Hyper Princess Pitch (when viewing the highscore screen with a blank save file). This first chapter, "The Machine Fortress", is based on a children's story I wrote in school many years ago.Princess Remedy trailer - Ludosity & Remar GamesDaniel Remar2016-01-09 | Download: https://www.remar.se/daniel/remedy.php

I haven't been able to post comments on YouTube for years for some reason, so here's what's going on with this game. I promised I'd try to finish it (more specifically the first chapter) at NMS 2012, but then I made Muri for Ludosity instead. The last winter-spring I did a lot of work on it, but for the rest of the year I focused entirely on Ittle Dew 2 at Ludosity. Now I'm trying to finish the first chapter before summer 2016. Although the project began in 2009, I've only worked on it for about half a year in total. It's just a small game, nothing special or anything, and I don't know if I'll make the rest of the episodes since that would take several years more.
This was the teaser of the strawberry game shown at No More Sweden 2012. Inspired by Majora's Mask, Wonder Project and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure among others, it's a nonviolent story-based game with a focus on character interaction and adventure. The controls are kept as simple as possible and there's no difficult platforming.
The song used is "Frame of Mind", a Beyond Good & Evil remix by Aurora, Destructo and SGX. The game is non-profit so I hope this is ok. This was easier than the Iji trailer, and only took a day to make. Cut and synced using VirtualDub. Note that the HUD surrounding the game screen is not visible in this trailer to keep it from distracting the viewer.

This is a tool-assisted video recorded frame-by-frame, and not actually played in real time. It was originally uploaded as a joke without any explanation - sorry about that!
Can reallyjoel's dad really beat the hidden difficulty named after him? Of course he can. He's pro. Due to how the game works, each defeated boss except Tetron leveled him up. Defeating a boss also destroyed all the enemy bullets on the screen.
The intro music is "Story" by Technomancer from the original uncomplete Hero Core soundtrack, and the main music is "Hero 3D" by Captain Goodnight from the Iji soundtrack. The latter is a cover of Machinae Supremacy's song "Hero".

Sorry for the terrible sound quality. This is a demonstration of how to beat all the bosses (except the final) on Ultimortal difficulty, where you're limited to upgrading only your Health, and no health pickups exist. The final boss has already been done in a separate video found on my videos page. Note that this is not a speedrun; instead I try to avoid taking damage.

As the maker of a game, you usually get pretty good at it during development and testing. You'll hopefully realize that you need to tone it down before release, but it may bother you that even the highest difficulty setting doesn't provide enough of a challenge to the really dedicated. That's when you include things like this - Iji's final boss, pumped to his maximum power before the fight begins, on a difficulty level that automatically removes the health pickups he normally drops - as secret challenges for players to discover.

This is a recording of my new 28:54 Normal speedrun time in Iji version 1.3. I apologize for the video and audio quality. All loading times and cutscenes (which are all skippable) were omitted. The video was recorded Sector by Sector using the in-built saving function, restarting bosses as necessary, so it's a legit 16-segment speedrun. See the video annotations for further details.
Timing: The game does not count the time it takes to view cutscenes, or read chat sequences and special messages, but I skip them anyway. Certain chats are unskippable for technical reasons, I just flick through these. The clock still ticks while reading ordinary logbooks and cracking things, and the seconds are rounded down at the end of each Sector.
There are of course mistakes in the run, I will try to point most of them out in the annotations.

The video itself took about two days, large parts were screenshotted manually frame by frame since the movie recording program was a bit iffy. Props to VirtualDub though, I used it to put the whole thing together and sync the music.
You may recognize certain graphics from one of my other games, Garden Gnome Carnage. I actually made these a few years ago for Iji, and later reused them in GGC, not the other way around.Marioquake: Sound experimentDaniel Remar2008-05-25 | I made this for a course in digital sound design. The sound effects were ripped with Goldwave, and each effect was inserted into the audio track by matching the timing of the frames in VirtualDub. It took a couple of hours, since I couldn't think of a better way to go about it.
Trivial note: the gameplay was assisted with savestates and replayed in FCE Ultra 0.95.15, so I didn't have to replay it all manually to get the video just right.
