CRANK turned pop during the time and kept staying popular and I guess, their members are still active somewhere in the music biz. (Adrian Weyermann for example became member of the legendary KROKODIL www.krokodil.li , Thomas Winkler owns a recording studio www.stu-stu-studio.ch )
what you get here is some earlier work:
their Sounds Session (released 1990 by the DRS3 radio station www.srf.ch), a track taken from the "Let It Rock"-compilation (released 1990 by the Anzeiger Von Uster-newspaper/Turicaphon), their contribution to the first "Skampler"-compilation (released 1993, Tudor Rock) and to the "Stop F/A-18"-benefit-CD (released 1993 by the GSoA Gruppe Schweiz ohne Armee) when the public was able to vote whether Switzerlands Army should buy new tactical aircraft or not. but this playlist starts with my favourite CRANK-song, released 1992 on the "Ohrenwärmer Züri-Sampler 1992: 33 Bands Aus Stadt Und Agglo Zürich"-compilation, brought to us by one of the newspaper-mags for the youth: MOSKITO (former 21i).

incredible how good this is, innit?!
my dear friend Eva-Maria once handed me over a live recording (Squatting of the Wohlgroth-Area in Zurich, I guess?) by this band but I'm afraid this somehow got lost over the time. and now I just found this album and this is really good! thanks!
and hello to Eva-Maria!
about drummer Bruno I have no further informations but Judith Wyder was also part of the WONDERBRAZH and Martin Söhnlein later was part of MÄNNER AM RAND and is still mixing & recording stuff by bands such as YAKARI or LOESCHEN (check their "Togheter Ahaed"-7" on RINDERHERZ RECORDS!)

Thank you Gnägi for the two unreleased tracks by Tisch 21 respectively the Gnägi-Band.
But first there is the BEST OF CHILBLAIN: "Mein Weg", "Zwei verliebte Hosen", "Jeden Tag dasselbe" and "Träumen in Farbe" - the live version again. all four tracks taken from the "...denn sterben werden wir sowieso..."-CD (self-released 2002). Chilblain at that time was Fäbu, Gnägi, Dänu, Jönu.
"Ich A_loch" - another Chilblain song - was (probably) originally recorded by Tisch 21(Fäbu, Gnägi, Dänu, Päscu. Päscu: Get well soon!!) but it's a bit of a blur whose tracks have survived during the various re-recordings of this awesome song. in absolutely no blurry vision I still can remember the night I have heard that one for the first time. and yesterday, when Gnägi handed me over the new mix of the song, I was shivering for a second. and I would like to dedicate this little video especially to Zorilla: thank you for your words back then.
"Tanzen" is another fabulous new track - this time recorded all by Gnägi himself.
I hope you'll release that stuff someday soon and get rich and famous again!

thanks Jüri for the head-up concerning the content of the slideshow (which is now unavailable).
of course it wasn't such a good idea to drink that much and - as most of us know now - it's difficult to quit smoking, so don't even start! BUT: thanks to everybody at Blue Note Bistro back then - I have some very fond memories of that time!
thanks a lot to Dänu & Simu & everybody at JUK (sorry, I can't remember the names of the rest of the staff), past & present. you are the best!
also very special thanks to Marc & Metro 33 and to Doogue who - from there and for the first time - invited me to come over to the Träff!

look at me. I'm still wearing shorts.
on the "Mund-Art"-album you'll find another song called "Le Gangster" by FROSTSCHUTZ plus some songs by Luzern Punks CRAZY amongst other bands (mostly from Bern) . here I used the cover of another LP where you can find "Eskimo" as the only Punk/Wave addition: it's a transcription record by the Swiss Radio International/SBC Swiss Broadcasting Corporation called "Rock In Switzerland/Swiss Dialect Rock", released in 1982 through their own channel. the had a few words to say about the youngster-band and you can read it in the video.
www.frostschutz.net
soundcloud.com/frostschutz/tracks (on the FROSTSCHUTZ-soundcloud-profile you can finally hear the original "im Bett"-tune that was covered by the fantastic www.zueriwest.ch on their actual album!)
I heard about a re-release of all these recordings but can't find any further information atm.
waited for 24h for an answer but put this online again now because I suspected NDT to be the artists behind "Damenwahl" (plot twist: they are not.)
NDT (or at least their bass player Tremp) were related to Lucerne Punk Band CRAZY (Tremp was a forming member) and someone mentioned CRAZY being the "Damenwahls" but there are several re-releases of their discocraphy and you can listen to them yourself, they were good!

update 10/01/2024: indeed there will be a very limited re-release of NDT-music alongside with a history-booklet and more special stuff.

Mother's Pride were a band from Lucerne, active for a long time. they had some punkrock/rockabilly background, I guess but turned pop/rock during the years.
I have only seen them once and this in a special way: at the BOA - https://www.fotodok.swiss/wiki/Kulturzentrum_Boa - a musical called "THE GREAT ROCK'N'ROLL SWINDLE" took place in 1993 and MOTHER'S PRIDE appeared there as actors playing the SEX PISTOLS, also performing their songs. the musical itself was about the story of the SEX PISTOLS and Malcolm McLaren and Sid Vicious & Nancy Spungens tragic end. we were there with my family (Hello everybody also in Lu-Town) and I think it was pretty good (or at least the music was) and I would like to say hello to Lukas Scharpf who was absolutely gorgeous in that play.
and last but not least to Peti, who I visited shortly after again (as far as I can remember).

not exactly a Scout-related release but I've been looking for this one since some because I had absolutely no idea what is behind this group, expected it to be some really strange underground music. turns out it's something school related (eew!) - HTL Brugg-Windisch (HTL = "Higher Technical Learning School", school for prospective engineers in Switzerland) de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehemalige_Höhere_Technische_Lehranstalt_Windisch
I bought a couple of Swiss Folklore singles during the last few years because their covers or tracklists were amusing, maybe I should upload them too.

Happy New Year!
let's start this one BACK WITH A BANG of joyful noise and here are three excerpts of another Boyscouts/Scouts-release! the Pfadi Folk Fescht/Fest is a happening that takes place in Switzerland every year or another, personally I was there in 2001 (MOVE at Pferderennbahn Aarau - what a fantastic weekend that was!), 2004 (in Lachen where we nearly got into into fights with the local right-wing-gabbers and later got accused for stealing the cash register - because we were seen before with exactly those guys... still it had some good moments that one, cheers "Gang Süessi Tierli", let's meet in the tent later) and 2006 (in Yverdon-Les Bains, the non-alcoholic one, another special night with new friends and also some old ones).
1978 was the fourth issue and it took place in Bern, at that time the Pfadi Falkenstein Köniz was still Boyscouts only and you can hear two of our little Cub Scouts chanting great hits:
Meute Sioni (where I joined in 1985) with "Dr Töff Vom Polizischt", Meute Rikki-Tiki-Tavi with "Simi A Dech" and then there is a group I don't know anythig about called S'Härzigs performing a fantastic tune with the outstanding title "Meitschi Putz Di!"
Enjoy!
---
when I was a Boyscout the lyrics to the song had changed a lot as the whole structure had changed. we were the "Könizer vo Falkestein" (while Buebebärg long ago had become the federation that held a much larger group of Scout districts together) and since 1982 there were girl Scout troops part of our district, so we sung "üsi Modi, üsi Giele, üsi Chünizer vo Falkestei"
but the version of the Falkenstein-Song you're hearing right now was recorded a little earlier.

Thanks to Löi & Komma for storing this record.
the picture was taken from the "75 years of Falkenstein-Jubilée"-website. Thanks!

the pictures you'll see are not my own but official sponsor Fotopick Express www.fotopick.ch has released a beautiful photobook back then and the photographers are mentioned in the end of the book. our subcamp 5 - Utobula, the one for the 3. and 4. rank aka Raider & Rover - also had their own little book in black&white.
unfortunately our troop was just for one week joining in because we went on our traditional bike tour and visited La Corse for two weeks while the CUNTRAST for us had started one week too early.

Blue China...
I can only repeat myself: to me Rudolph Dietrich is the best in Switzerlands music world!
https://www.srf.ch/audio/srf-3-punkt-ch/vinylwoche-benedikt-gfeller?id=12081972
Dietrich was a forming member of Switzerlands first (?) Punkband NASAL BOYS but quit after the band got renamed EXPO and musically rebranded by the industry. his reaction was the "B.O.F's"/"No Claim With Bluff + Swindle"-7" (1979, this is not an OFF COURSE PRODUCTION, the label logo got crossed out to avoid possible conflict with the CBS-company). he then teamed up with Beat Schlatter (drums) and Heinrich Heinricht (bass) to release the "Wir Bleiben Kameraden"-12" (1979, Off Course) naming the band KRAFT DURCH FREUDE. for the following KRAFT DURCH FREUDE 7" "I've Gotta Whole Lotta Love" (1980, Off Course/Another Swiss Label) Schlatter was replaced by Thomas Wydler (later drummer for DIE HAUT and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and various others). Schlatter has become a famous actor since, mostly doing comedy but I cannot remember a single interview with him that was not a pleasure to read! (and I will never forget the one hid did about twenty years ago where he corrected the interviewer because that guy wrote the name BUZZCOCKS wrong in an article about a year ago in the very same newspaper. awesome!). Schlatter was also the drummer for SPERMA and LiLiPUT in both their "later" days - Dietrich once was part of KLEENEX before they had to change their name to LiLiPUT.
KRAFT DURCH FREUDE changed their name to RUDOLPH DIETRICH: MUTTERFREUDEN and released the "Don't Miss The Past"-album (1980, Off Course/Monogam Deutschland). MUTTERFREUDEN disbanded, Dietrich teamed up with thee producer Voco Fauxpas (bass - he already appeared on the MUTTERFREUDEN-album as guest vocalist, together with Iggie Combat/Wiederkehr of NO FUN-fanzine fame) and Derek Taylor (drums). in this line-up the group recorded the famous "Visitors Never Come Alone"-7" (1981, Electric Unicorn). In 1982 the BEATLES-coverversion "Tomorrow Never Knows" was released as 12", again on Electric Unicorn Records. the band at that time consisted of Dietrich (vocals/guitar), Kuno Rabu (bass), Major Kain (drums, former member of REBELS and BELLEVUE, both outstanding punkbands!) and Vogel - another famous producer - on synthesizers (after being the drummer for a short period). from this 12" the tracks "Run" & "Footsteps" you'll find on this video. on the flipside there was the Vogel-jam "One Size For All", starring Jonathan Woerlen on vocals. the A-side was re-released in 1984 on Electric Unicorn and R.F. Records in Switzerland/Mosquito in France, on side B this time the "Visitors Never Come Alone"-7" including the instrumental B-side "The Rhythm Of Design".
in 1983 BLUE CHINA (Dietrich/Rabu/Major Kain) released the "Spiritual Beauty"-album on Electric Unicorn Records and in 1984 the "These Are The Days"-12" was released - this time on Dietrichs own label Pluralist Church. Silvia de Janeiro/Holenstein (MOTHERS RUIN) did some backing vocals and remained being a port for the following versions of BLUE CHINA. the These Are The Days"-12" was backed with another BEATLES-coverversion ("I Am The Walrus") and another instrumental track called "Automation".
in 1988 the compilation album "Time To Leave" was released in Germany on Yellow Records containing recordings from 1980 to 1986 (even the album cover says "1980-1988") and there was the soloalbum of the same name, released in 1986 on Dieter Meiers (Yello) DOM-label. the song "Darling Rita" was released on the very same label in 1987 as a single-sided 7" record.
in 1995 another BLUE CHINA-compilation-CD saw the light of the day. it was released on Corazoo Records and included DRS3-live versions of "Run" and "Footsteps". bio in this video is from this release.
1995 and the Corazoo also paved the way for the Rudolph Dietrich comeback - this time as a blues musician and with the CD "Monsieur L'ti Bon Ange".
https://www.srf.ch/play/tv/10-vor-10/video/rudi-dietrich?urn=urn:srf:video:1173b2ce-b495-4739-a4de-72beaf13fe94
in 2006 another reworked double CD-compilation and a 7" was released - this time using the moniker HILARIOUS LTD.
Rural Sr.'s Le Vodou Sports Club seems to be the last name under which recordings Rudolph Dietrich have been released. until 2018 he was very active on youtube, releasing videos for early Swiss Punk bands plus new songs.

can't remember where I got my copy from, probably from Krist-Hell & Kalémis "La Bruit De La Décharge"-distro, around 1997. (cheers to you both!)
the quality isn't that good and the recording runs much too fast so I had to fiddle around a bit but this seems to me +/- at the right speed now.
I saw that band at the Éspace Autogérée in Lausanne, Primerose, I think it was.. went there with Jello/Crashed Fäkalia, and this band was simply awesome - even Steve Ignorant writes a few sentences about that tour and especially this squat (even there seems to be a mix-up with a squat in France) in his "And The Rest Is Propaganda"-titled biography: unfortunately this night led to the demise of the mighty SCHWARTZENEGGAR, coming up next were the Stratford Mercenaries and years later the re-interpretations of the old CRASS songs with various backing groups i.e. PARANOID VISIONS or the new project SLICE OF LIFE.
