#authortube, #indieauthor, #Productivitystream, fast drafting a smutty paranormal novella, spinner wheel TBR, September TBR 2024,Heather.Salter-Purves_author2024-08-27 | Hi, beautiful people! Welcome back to my channel, or welcome if you're new. My name's Heather Salter-Purves. This is my home, where I discuss my reading and writing journeys. Today is a tbr video. I have seen a bunch of these done recently and wanted to jump on the spinner wheel. because it looks so much fun. In September, I intend to catch up on or close out the series. I am randomly going to pick a number between four and 10. It was five.
So five books, and then if I can't get the few book club books on the list, I have to add those as well. Number one is classic. Okay, guess I will pick up Little Women from my recent book haul by Louisa May Alcott. The classic follows the March sisters as their fathers leave the war. Number two is a re-read. Number three is random; pick a number between one and 65 that would be six. Atlas Six by Olivie Blake, and means I will be reading Atlas Paradox, which is the second book in that list of six series where six magicians are selected to enter an opportunity to become guardians of the library of Alexander. They've chosen the best magicians, but it's become a Game of Death or cat and mouse. Spin number four It's a graphic novel. It's a manga; I'm going to count it as a graphic novel because it also does get me through, and that's the Death Note. These are the black editions; this is volume two. So it will have the standard volumes three and four in it. It follows a light, here's a student, and then a death note, so a notebook gets dropped from the death note, which is a notebook that was dropped by a row of Shinigami death gods, and the human's name is written in it dies, and now the light is about to use the power of the death note to get rid of the world, just evil, but with lights. A noble goal, or will the death note turn him into the very thing he hates? the final spin That's non-fiction. To get me into the mood for the spooky season, I will read the book of practical witchcraft. It's a compendium of spells, rituals, and occult knowledge by Paloma Bell. It has just been sitting on my shelves.
There are at least two books I need to add, and that is the Double Trouble book club, which is a duology book club I run here on the channel, and we're going to be picking up the Shepherd King duology. The first one is One Dark Window, September, and then two twisted crowns. It's going to be the October book. So this one we follow Elspeth Spindle needs more than just like to stay safe in an earrings-locked kingdom of blunder she needs a monster and she calls him the nightmare and ancient miracle spirit trapped in her head he protects her so he keeps the secrets but nothing comes for free especially magic when illnesses makes a mysterious Highwaymen in the Forest Road she has thrust into the world of Shadow in Deception together they embark on the dangerous quest to fill the town of blender from the dark magic infecting it as the stakes heightened and Undeniable attraction intense files those are forced to face her tucker secrets yet they're nightmare slowly taking over her mind and she might not be able to stop him for Maiden must unleash the monster within to save her kingdom in this dark lashes gothic fantasy. I do also have a second which is book two in the Assassin's Trilogy by Madeline Te Whin. as the third and final book is being released in October, so I just want to catch up on that one, and then, of course, I will hopefully move on through the rest of the month. Let me know what your favourite prompt was, and I will see you soon in a new video. For now, how do you feel? I will reread The Raven Boys so I can continue with the Raven Boys quartet as I'm taking part in the fancy bingo and one of the prompts' dreams, and I think that book Two Dream thrives. deals with the hard prompt of Dreams, so I can get to that. If you would like me to do an update where I'm sitting in the off-fancy bingo, let me know down in the comments.

#authortube, #indieauthor, #campnanowrimo,Quarter 2 2024 goals: writing goals and author goals. #authortube, #indieauthor, #writinggoals,Heather.Salter-Purves_author2024-04-06 | Hi guys, Welcome back to the channel or welcome if you're new. My name's Heather Salter-Purves. I'm a queer fantasy author.
This is my quarter-two writing and author career goals and intentions, and I'll be doing a quick reflection on how quarter one went for me and how I'm progressing overall toward the goals that I set for myself for the entire year. First of all, I'll run through what I'm planning to do in Q2 how that aligns with what I'll follow through from Q1, and if I need to read a line of focus for the overall year.
Quarter two focuses:
~~Apirl: Camp Nano Apirl
~~Twisted Garden Saga, Book 2, and Splinters of Ash, which is the first book in a dulogy, I would like to seek traditional publication.
a few other things:
~~7-day book challenge hosted by SD Hegyes
~~author newsletter by getting 5, 10, or 20 subs.
~~This YouTube channel: 250, 275, to 300
finally releasing Her Daffodil Queen in June.
quarter-one reactions:
~~I didn't get my author newsletter off the ground, so I moved it to my main focus and became more consistent with my social media.
~~My paranormal novelette for my pen name was completed and edited with beta reader feedback.
~~The critique partner matchup collaboration I worked with Meredith Phillips, and it went super well, and I was lucky enough to actually find an additional critique partner.
~~I also took part in the authortube Secret Santa and received a beautiful edition of The Serpent and The Wings of Night.
overall 2024 goals that have been completed or languished:
~~not started on Project 6 College—my dark academic novel.
~~I have also managed to submit a short story to a magazine for consideration. I'm yet to hear back from them, but that is still going along quite well.
~~I have fallen off with my daily writing prompt, and I'm not quite hitting a thousand words a day of writing.

Or welcome if you're new. My name is Heather Salter-Purves. I'm a queer fantasy author.
today is the Camp NaNoWriMo April's plans and project announcement stuff. Camp NaNoWriMo is a mini event that emerged from the big novel writing month in November, where the challenge is to write 50,000 words. Let's go! However, camps happened twice here in April and July and it's more and choose your own adventure style. I am doing a hybrid sort of situation. I want to get 40,000k written in the month, but it's going to be across two different projects.
one of them is going through the editor's feedback for Her Daffodil Queen. The second one is the initial draft of a vampire massacre novella I intend to write. I'll probably publish it using a pen name. I want to delve into a more entertaining and erotic storyline, aiming for a fun experience for readers.
In summary, I'll receive the rewrites from the editor of Her Daffodil Queen, around 25,000 words, and then I'll begin writing the first draft of the vampire massacre novella. I want to hit 40,000 in April, but that is also going to be a bit of a challenge because Dragon is not at school; it is school holidays for the first two weeks in April, and then I also have Dragon's birthday and my mum coming to visit, so it's going to be hectic and balanced on the life side of things. And also, I had a few people that don't have a YouTube channel, kind of choosing the Kingdom, so that will slot into July's NaNoWriMo. For more details on that, hit that red subscribe button and give me a thumbs up if you enjoyed this. I will livestream and do my best to vlog. let me know if you're participating in NaNoWriMo or your big creative goal for April.
#authortube, #indieauthor, #nanowrimo2024,7 day book challenge productivity streamHeather.Salter-Purves_author2024-03-22 | Hi guys, welcome back to the channel or welcome if you're new. My name's Heather Salter-Purves. I'm a queer fantasy author. I currently have two books out. This video is going to be an announcement for my seven-day book challenge that is coming up very soon, so let's check out what I'm going to be working on.
So one of my quarterly goals for this year was to finish Her Daffodil Queen and submit it to an editor. I have my date booked in with a lovely editor, which is the 25th of March. So I'm going to take the next 7-day book challenge, which kicks off on Monday, the 18th of March, and goes through to the 24th, so it'll be all lovely and done, and I'm going to try to get the last 15,000 to do it just so it's a nice big chunky bit when we do the edits and pear down on the writing. We will have options. This is a brainchild I believe of Sky over SD Hegyes; she will have a great range of live streams available now, so I'll link her down below. SD Heyges channel: youtube.com/@UC-MStT49Ps9m4aC4SJbcu7A
I will also run a few live streams to increase my productivity to get into the swing of things and close out quarter one of 2024. I've had a wonderful time this quarter, and if you would like to see how I have gone and what I'm planning for Q2 of this year,.
Come and hang out and maybe take part in the challenge. Let me know if you're taking part, and bye for now. Let me know if you will participate in the 10-day book challenge and let's use voices to promote positive change.
