He was the god of weather but no matter what he did storms followed him and he was banished from cities for excessive damage. He felt worthless. After days of hardship trying to control the storms, it seemed the rain was a symbol that all hope must be lost. He hung his head in sorrow, his sobs drowned out by the rain. His paws grasped at his face, trying to somehow scrape away the sadness that consumed him. He closed his eyes and all he could feel was the rain, that seemed a million tiny pebbles chipping away at him. Hope was all he needed to be able to try to go on, to fix what was broken. Monsoon began to rub at his eyes, to dry what he couldn't tell was rain or tears-when he was suddenly frozen in place by a brilliant light. Looking up ever so slowly, he began to see the sun, to feel the warmth, though the rain still pelted down around him. A shadowed figure hovered in the midst of a circle of light, where the clouds had parted and the rain ceased. His dark wings flapped up and down, his shining mane glittering in the light of the sun. It seemed the very earth felt his presence, the flooded ground sprouting beautiful grass and flowers in the sun's rays. The figure slowly began to descend to the ground, the clouds further parting in his wake. A lion now stood before Monsoon, towering above him in height, his wingspan making him oddly intimidating contrasting with the smoothness of his fur and expression. The lion showed a light smile and squinted his eyes, tilting his head as he inspected Monsoon’s devastated expression. “There is no need to cry.” Said the lion at last, folding his wings to his side and lowering his head to speak gently. “The day is beautiful, the grass is green, and nature is alive. You can do anything you want on this day, there is no need to cry.” Monsoon stared in shock at this creature, a lion on all fours that came to him now on his darkest day. “What am I to do?” He questioned, a glimmer of hope in his tone. “Try again.” Said the lion. “You will fail again, someday. But now you have learned, now you can change. So now, you try again.” Monsoon lifted his head to face the lion, eager to believe his words but unsure of the truth. He looked around, the grass was green, small creatures moved everywhere, the sun shined so greatly. He realized how quickly things could go from terrible, to beautiful. He looked back at the lion. “You can find opportunities everywhere you look. So the important thing is to always be looking. Don’t give up searching, because then you’ll never find anything.” Monsoon rubbed away the last of his tears, and opened his eyes again to see the lion taking flight back into the sky. He was determined now to take his advice, as he sat in the meadow, looking at nature all around him.

The prompt for this month is nostalgia so I drew this PMV as if Cynthia is the singer reminiscing on how she and her husband, Morpheus, met.----------------------------------------------Song: Like the Dawn -- The Oh Hellos - youtube.com/watch?v=Hd9vh89To4M--- --- --- --Programs Used: - FireAlpaca (art) - DaVinci Resolve (editing)----------------------------------------------Story:Morpheus is a soldier appointed to Cynthia’s children’s hospital as they’ve started taking in travellers and immigrants who need medical aid. Because of this there could be criminals and people who could harm the current residents of the hospital. At first Morpheus wasn’t happy that he was appointed here, he felt that it would be boring as he’d be meandering the gardens on patrol making and checking up on staff. He felt like he would lose his entire social life as the hospital was a ways away from the nearest large city (there is a little town close by). He was happy that he didn’t have to live in the hospital like many of the staff did and that he got a small house at the foot of the hill the hospital was on. Most people would complain having to go up and down the hill for work but he has wings so getting up to the top wasn’t a problem and probably the reason why he was appointed to this hospital in the first place. As he was patrolling the gardens one early morning he came across Cynthia, one of the doctors and the founder of the hospital. She was reading a book at the foot of the large apple tree in their garden. Morpheus strolled up to her and asked if she’d like to accompany him for the rest of his patrol and she agreed saying that it was time for her to check up on all the early risers anyways. As they walked Morpheus asked Cynthia about some of the residents and she talked about three young children, Iroh, Clover and Altaria, who seemed to have zero friends or family so she took them in as her own. She felt bad though that she wasn’t allowed to leave the hospital property so neither could the kids. As they reached the entrance of the building Morpheus offered to take them down to the town sometimes and if they needed to go to school he would take them as well. Cynthia was overjoyed and relieved to hear this and thanked Morpheus as she entered the hospital to find Clover holding his comfort blanket and staring wide eyed at her. She scooped him him and brought him back to his room so he could changed out of his pyjamas. Morpheus smiled as he turned away from the door and continued his patrol. As the days pass Morpheus and Cynthia start talking more, Cynthia joining Morpheus’s morning patrol becomes a daily routine. At this point Morpheus as met Cynthia’s three children and has taken them down to the town multiple times during his lunch break. One night as he returns to his house he leans against the wall and stared at the ceiling wondering if he had feelings for Cynthia. He felt like it wouldn’t be a good idea to confess them as he needs to be loyal to guarding the hospital without any distractions. He continues to grow closer to Cynthia and her adopted children; Iroh, Clover and Altaria and when Iroh becomes the age where they should begin full time schooling Morpheus offers to take them there so Cynthia can continue her duties at the hospital. Day after day Morpheus gets roped into more and more of the children's activities and becomes a secondary parent to them. On a sunny day on Iroh's return from school they run over to Cynthia and exclaims "Mom! Mom! Can Morpheus become our dad??" and that became the day where Morpheus and Cynthia started dating. Four years pass, Morpheus and Cynthia grew closer and eventually marry. The Pantaloon PMV ・voided skies・ 2020-12-20 | This is one of the multiple PMVs/AMVs that I have been trying to finish. I started this one back in March and have slowly been working on it since (you can see how my style switches towards the end).
