Pikmin 2 - Shower Room without Electric Gate
updated
This can still be improved a lot; Chapter 22 in particular I lost a massive amount of time on, this run didn't get most of the important lucky crits, and execution can be improved throughout. Still, it's a major improvement over my previous PB, and it's nice to finally have an uploaded run with almost all of my current strats.
This was run on Version 1.3.0. The latest patch, 2.0.0, fixed the "Slingshot Glitch" I use in Chapters 4/5/20/23, and so would be 1-2 minutes slower.
The paralogue order may seem a bit weird, but it's a combination of the current unit order, current assigned Emblems, the fact that Emblem Paralogues unequip the featured Emblem character, and items I want to get (the Energy Drop in Jean's and the Speedwing in Leif's).
This was run on Version 1.3.0, with Normal/Classic/Fixed Growths.
- Casual would probably be faster (mainly because I have to do things on Chapters 13 and 16 to protect some of my units due to Classic), but Classic for now is how I prefer to do the run.
- Fixed Growths is unlocked for Normal and Hard after beating the game, and makes level ups not random. This makes the run much more consistent.

Timing starts when selecting "Start [the game]" after character creation, and ends when the screen fully fades to white after defeating the final boss.

The deck has:
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Elvish Mystic
4 Strike It Rich
4 Channel
4 Lightning Serpent
14 Mountain
14 Forest
Plus 12 filler cards because I didn't want to have too many lands in my deck, due to Arena's Bo1 hand smoother (I don't actually have any idea if that really mattered or exactly how much filler you should play if so).
Timing starts as soon as I click on "Play" and ends as soon as Sparky's life becomes 0 or less.
Bad CP2, FB2, HC1, MS2, MM1, MM2. Lots of time to save everywhere else as well. I may try to push this further, we'll see.
This run uses a Level Select code to disable the Super music (06 02 01 04). This code is allowed in runs as it has no effect on gameplay.
Dread is a fun game.
- All Missile/Energy Tank/Power Bomb expansions
- Varia Suit
- Diffusion Beam
- Flash Shift
- Spin Boost
- Ice Missiles
- Pulse Radar
- Space Jump
- Gravity Suit
Cross Bombs are also skippable, but apparently it 1. requires Flash Shift to skip (so it would not reduce the total amount of items), and 2. can't be done on Hard because it requires intentional damage.
This was not done in one continuous run. Deaths and resets were edited out, aside from the two required resets against Corpius to set up a glitch. This playthrough is 25 different segments appended together.
(I did have to hack my position to get here but lol)

Black Eagles Silver Snow speedrun, done on Normal/Classic. Timing starts on choosing to not use online features, and ends on fadeout after completing the final chapter. Done on Version 1.2.0, the latest at the time of uploading. No Expansion Pass DLC features are used.
So, right after my previous PB, a new "trick" (i.e. intended gameplay feature) was pointed out, where you can actually Skip ahead to a future date while exploring, instead of having to end exploring and wait for the next week. With this saving a good amount of time on its own (I haven't timed it all myself but probably 30-40 seconds overall), plus a few other minor route changes I could implement, plus overall better luck (Byleth had THIRTY STRENGTH against Kronya?????) let me save 2 minutes over my previous PB.
Still a lot of room for improvement, Chapter 7 was absolutely terrible and I had to pulse twice on Chapter 18, but I don't care this absolutely is good enough I thought I had good enough weeks ago please get me away from Silver Snow
It's nice to be running the game again! This is a major improvement over my old PB, almost 9 minutes, thanks to a totally different route, being better at the game, and faster loads thanks to moving the game to system memory lol.
There's still a good amount of room for improvement. Byleth's strength was pretty terrible early on (missing strength for EIGHT levels in a row from 10-17), which cost a lot of time on Chapters 9 and 10 especially. There were also a few Pulses required from bad luck (6 and 16), and some pulses from just doing the wrong thing lol (19 and 21). Sub-1:20 is clearly doable (and probably far better than that as well), but for now I'd rather move on to the other categories in this game.
Still various parts to improve (Day 5 especially was really bad), but I think seriously for real I'm taking a break from any% grinding for now.
For this run, I've switched to playing the game in Korean. Korean, along with German and Chinese, save about 4 seconds over English:
- On Day 1, when starting Charlie's section, the message "Exploration Day 1 - 08:44 AM Charlie's Crash Site" takes longer to appear than it takes to load the level, and you have to wait for the text to finish. For the three mentioned languages, the text is short enough that they finish before the load.
- The same as above, but for Alph's section. I believe these are the only parts of the run where the text length actually matters; everywhere else, you have to wait a fixed amount of time regardless.
- Non-English languages have 2 fewer text boxes throughout the run compared to English.
There's still a lot to be optimized and improved, and I'm sure this will be beaten by others very quickly, but I'm happy with this for now. I want to focus on learning All Fruits; that's something I always wanted to do on Wii U but it never ended up happening, so I hope to correct that.
(The idea for the thumbnail was shamelessly stolen from kirbymastah lol)
There's also a new outside portion, not needing to throw the yellows to Alph anymore which saves a decent amount of time. This part works fine with 20, it doesn't require only 5.
Louie is, has always been, and will forever remain a massive jerk.
You can save a lot of time by doing the fight with fewer bombs, thus only needing one mound. As far as I know though that requires a ton of luck, and my goal was to have a consistent strat. Maybe someone else will figure it out.
This is nearly 10 minutes faster than my old Wii U PB... it's amazing how much time you can save when you run a much faster version of the game and have 7 years of people finding new major tricks, lol. Still tons of room for improvement (this is from only my second day of doing attempts) but it's a starting point.
Ultra-Spicy difficulty is new to Deluxe, and has the following changes (that I know of):
- You can only have 60 max pikmin on the field at a time.
- Fruits provide half as much juice (irrelevant for this playthrough).
- Pikmin drown faster.
- Deluxe adds extra nectar eggs in various places, but these are not included on Ultra-Spicy difficulty.
To celebrate this being "Ultra-Spicy" difficulty, I also decided to... not get any Ultra-Spicy sprays. :P This playthrough is also deathless, as I prefer all my Pikmin challenge playthroughs to be.
This is pretty bad but it's also kinda a joke run of a demo so whatever, lol. Timing starts on selecting the difficulty and ends on the "This concludes the demo." dialogue appearing.
This run still has various bad stages, and a good amount of improvement still possible throughout, but I'm happy with it for now.
This run is currently the World Record, therefore it is perfect and has no further room for improvement.
...Okay, so actually I think this run is pretty bad, and has a ton of room for improvement; most of the timesave came from new major tricks on Hydrocity 1, Metallic Madness 2, and Titanic Monarch 1. This game is a ton of fun to run, so hopefully I improve this quickly, but for now it's nice to have an uploaded run with these new strats.
You can all stop complaining about me not uploading any Mania videos now. :P
This still has a lot of room for improvement, but it's a good start. AFAIK this is the first time someone's actually done a run of it in the 6 months since release...
Done on Version 1.1.1, the latest at the time of uploading. No Expansion Pass DLC features are used.

Various room for improvement and general sloppiness, but it's good enough for now. And yay, I've now completed decent runs for all four routes!
"I want to get sub-1:30", I said...
Still a ton to improve here, but it's a good point to leave it for now while I look into the remaining routes.
Black Eagles Crimson Flower (Edelgard Route) speedrun, done on Normal/Classic. Timing starts on choosing to not use online features, and ends on fadeout after completing the final chapter.
One major mistake in Chapter 15, where I forgot to move Sylvain and had to start the chapter over, but the rest of the run went really well.

Various major mistakes and forgetting things in this run, but it's a start.
Tons of room for improvement here, current goal is a sub-39.
Happy International Women's Day ❤
Included an overlay that shows speed/position as well as the keys I'm pressing.
- Hard Difficulty
- No Spirits equipped
- No Adventure Skills obtained
As you have 0 attack and defense stats and no extra abilities, this makes boss fights much longer and more difficult.
00:00 - Giga Bowser
04:16 - Galleom
08:24 - Rathalos
13:11 - Master Hand 1
20:22 - Galeem
29:53 - Crazy Hand 1
34:02 - Marx
37:33 - Ganon
42:10 - Dracula
49:52 - Dharkon
59:16 - Master Hand 2
1:02:25 - Crazy Hand 2
1:05:36 - Master Hand 3
1:09:13 - Crazy Hand 3
1:15:34 - Final Battle Part 1 (Vertical Climb)
1:25:38 - Final Battle Part 2 (Boss Rush)
1:49:20 - Final Battle Part 3 (Galeem/Dharkon)
Various notes:
- These are all from the same playthrough, aside from Giga Bowser, as I did not record the fight the first time so I went back and redid it under identical conditions with the same character. All except Giga Bowser were done on New Game, meaning I was restricted in what fighters I could use.
- The three phases of the final fight were done separately, as the game will restart you at the same phase when you die and continue.
- There are three versions of each Master/Crazy Hand fight, adding more attacks each time, so every variation is included.
- Galeem 2 and Dharkon 2 are not included as they are optional for reaching the true ending (and at the time of uploading I don't have time to attempt them anyway). The special Master Hand fight is not included as it's no different in this challenge and isn't really a boss fight anyway.
- Some attacks that can normally be reflected are too strong to reflect under these conditions.
- Lucina owns.
- I played through the entire Adventure Mode with these restrictions, including all normal spirits. Here's, uh, some examples of what these fights turn into:
