EnzomusPrime - Who Will Really Know Enzomus Tunes 2024-06-24 | Yet another song originally created for our English Week performance. If Daga was made for Filipino Week, this was its counterpart. We lost the competition this time 'round, but it was too good of a song to leave behind. I'm still proud of what we accomplished as a choir of mostly non-musicians and singers.I came up with the melodies one faithful night, while jammin' out to my recorder. It was a really fun experience, since everything quite literally just unfolded in front of me. A song I've been working on for a week, finally finished because of some random burst of energy one night. Great stuff!!The song uses two instances of the circle of fifths chord progression, something I'm using a lot recently. (for better of for worse...) But I'm quite proud of the other melodies, especially the marchy-type one (which, if you notice, I used for Altiora Petamus BetaV4.)As it is originally from a SPEECH CHOIR performance, it has lyrics. It's from an English translation of the Nāsadīya Sūkta, also known as the Hymn of Creation. EnzomusPrime - Altiora Petamus (3Osc Lead) Enzomus Tunes 2024-06-24 | A song I wrote for our graduation thanksgiving program, which we performed as a band. It went horribly, but the practices, bonding, and memories made leading up to it made it all worth it in the end. And anyway, its better remembered as an amusing bomb-flop than forgotten as another mediocre joe! This particular video is labeled "3Osc Lead" because I plan to release an actual sung version in the future. I just need to find time to record it. I always like to put 3Osc leads for my songs because vocals are a hassle.A few notes:- This song (at least the idea of it) evolved from a rock arrangement of the hymn "Gaudeamus Igitur". If you can notice, the chorus' melody is a highly modified version of the hymn's first verse. However, that's where the similarities end. Eventually, it evolved into its own thing.- The chorus' chord progression was unintentionally the My Castle Town/A Cruel Angel's Thesis/Universe Cat Drowning Progression, or as I like to call it: MYTACATUCDROP. Take a listen to those songs, and come back here to compare. Again, it was unintentional, but a nice coincidence. I don't know if there's actually a technical name for the progression.- While the verses' melodies are original to this song, the pre-chorus and bridge (?) are modified versions of my other song "Daga", more so the bridge(?) than the pre-chorus. That song was school-related, so I wanted to reference it in this song. In fact, the lyrics to "Daga" appear in the bridge (?) too.- The intro initially stayed different for a while, being in a limbo of "I dunno how to write this". That is, until I took inspiration from another school-associated song, Langit by Juan Dela Cruz Band. I took a page from their book and used a pedal tone for the intro. It brought back a few memories too, because that was first band performance I've ever had.Only I am aware of the intricacies and callbacks in this song, but that's good enough for me.- As it is supposed to be sung, it of course has lyrics. EnzomusPrime - SAXABOOM Enzomus Tunes 2024-03-01 | Another product of random fixation and impulse. Behold---SAXABOOM!I wanted to arrange a song based off of Tenacious D's famous SAX-A-BOOM solo(s). After watching too many versions, it was hard to stop myself from covering it.I specifically covered his performance The Tonight Show, where he was accompanied by The Roots. It isn't a 1 to 1 perfect recreation. However, the flute instrument I used felt off when it WAS in key, and to get the full recorder experience, I pitched the instrument up a few cents.Speaking of soundfonts, there are two particular soundfonts I used here which were new to me. First of all is the SAX-A-BOOM soundfont. I had to slightly do some tempo changes in the project file itself because the "chorus" part was ever so slightly faster than the transitional clips. I'm still not too familiar with some of the exact soundfonts used for the song, partly because some of them --- the bass and drums in particular --- don't work well on my laptop. EnzomusPrime - Daga (Ng Ating Pag-asa) Enzomus Tunes 2023-10-16 | A thingo I made for school! Well, technically only the melodies. Y'see, our class was going to perform our SABAYANG PAGBIGKAS for another Buwan ng Wika celebration. We performed a poem by Michael M. Coroza: Daga.In our performance, we were allowed to make chants and sing tunes with the words of the poem as out lyrics. And so, that's what we did! I composed the all the melodies that can be heard in the trumpet part in the beginning. The other melodies were composed by our teacher, who helped us along the way. I made a silly intro mini-skit for it, and we had silly props. It was fun. The presentation was a skit based off of a Filipino legend about how people populated the Earth. EnzomusPrime - Evergreen (2019) Enzomus Tunes 2023-06-19 | This was a theme I wrote for the universe of my OCs back then. If you are familiar with my project the Evergreen Pilot, this name might sound familiar to you. This theme was made wayyy before production of the pilot began, and was a product of sudden inspiration to make musical theme for my characters' universe.This was mainly inspired by Epic Mountain Music's sountrack for Kurzgesagt's vaccines video: youtube.com/watch?v=f1DLJb1NvH0 It's a bit too blatantly based off of this song, being in the same key, bassline and having a similar tempo. Heck, it sounds so much like it that you could consider this a cover. However, I hope not to stir up any conflict, as I made this just for fun and I am not taking credit for coming up with the style of the song. I honestly want to thank Epic Mountain Music for making such a wonderful piece; it has given me so much inspiration and I've made so many memories with it.I was obsessed with the Kurzgesagt song so much (especially the piano sections) that it took over my creative library of sorts. Thus, this song was born. The main melody of the theme is a modified version of the main melody of a song I made called VT Trolpa: youtube.com/watch?v=7LkTgamXzdQI made this theme impulsively in a creative outburst. It's times like this when I just grab any nice melody I've already created (of have been inspired by) which I could modify to fit the harmonies of the main song. I've been with this song for a long time, so musically I think it fit pretty good. However, the fact that it uses the VT Trolpa melody has bugged me ever since, because if we are to use that melody as a lietmotif, it's weird how the VT Trolpa theme uses the universe's melody, and vise-versa.However, I have plans for this theme that I'm not ready to share just yet. (I sometimes can't believe the dates I made some of these songs...)If you can notice, the main melody during the beat drop was taken and used for my Biag ni Lam-Ang song: youtu.be/_rTPAYvOYkc This is something you will notice if you take a look at my music from 2019-2020; I reuse certain melodies if they fit the song I'm making, or if I simply want to sneak in the melody as an easter egg of sorts, even if it contradicts any narrative information I gave it previously (I was obsessed with using lietmotifs before). Sometimes though, I do reuse certain melodies as lietmotifs if they fit the song/lore, like I previously mentioned.This was made before I was confident in making music that didn't use just MIDI instruments. I thought I couldn't ever make any music beyond those MIDI instrument ones because I felt so limited by the built-in instruments of FL. This was also a reason why I used in the aforementioned melody for Biag ni Lam-Ang, because I wanted to put this melody into a better mix, since this one kinda sucked.Turns out, however, that I was just ignorant and never explored FL Studio and it's full potential. That, and I hadn't discovered external plugins yet by that time. Heck, I didn't even use 3Osc and FL Slayer yet by this time, which are standards of my recent music (I've moved on from FL Slayer now though :'DD).Now, I use more plugins for my music, AND I especially love using game soundfonts.
