hikyletaggartLens Review of the Tamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD Lens for Sony E
This is one of the best all around lenses for the Sony a6000. Depending on if you want a smaller/lighter kit, this may be the best all around lens period. It's not super heavy, but zoomed out at 300mm it can be a bit big. Overall I'm very impressed with build quality, sharpness throughout the 18 to 300mm range, snappy/smooth auto focus, and the close minimum focus distance. Oh, and it has VC! (image stabilization)
The zoom of the barrel isn't the smoothest, and I talk about that in this video. Hopefully the photo examples and the pro's of this lens show you it's true capability. The Tamron 18-300mm is a bargain for $699, and for all of the things you can use it for, I think it's a great kit lens replacement/upgrade.
More thoughts, examples photos, and tid bits in the video! Hope you enjoy this review of the TTamron 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD Lens for Sony E.

Back with another lens review, this time a lens from Meike - the 25mm f1.8 manual lens for Sony E Mount. The lens does have other mount options, it's $75 at the time of recording this video, and in my opinion is a great lens for under $100. @MeikeGlobal
In the video I compare it a little bit to the pergear 25mm f1.8, which I've also done a video on (link for that below.).
Overall this is a nice lens for the price, and I'm impressed with Meike as a brand. Maybe I will have to review more of their lenses! Let me know what you think in the comments. Thanks for watching!

Hey everyone! This is a review of the Sigma 18-50mmf2.8. I had this lens for a month, I took it with us on our honeymoon, and man, is it awesome! If you're looking to upgrade from the kit lens, this may be my go to recommendation for an all purpose lens. It's small, light, cheap for what it can do, and it performs incredibly well. There is one con to this lens, which I go over in the video, but overall, Sigma has hit this one out of the park. I had to send this lens back to Sigma, but I've already added this thing to my cart.

This is my review of the 7Artisans 50mm f0.95 for Sony E Mount. All photos in the video are with my Sonya6000 and Sony a6100. This lens is a nice walk around lens, and a great portrait lens. It does have a few flaws though! At f0.95 it's...interesting to say the least. It's extremely soft wide open, it almost looks like there is a mist filter on, and getting things in focus is obviously difficult enough at that aperture, so the softness doesn't help. The beauty with this lens, is it's super well made, extremely cheap for the maximum aperture of f0.95, and at f2.8 it is really sharp. It's a little wide and heavy, but that's also to be expected by a lens with this much glass, but it's also not a hulking lens.
Overall I love what 7Artisans is doing with their recent lens offerings. The build quality is top notch, the prices are right, and the optical performance (besides this lens at it's fastest) has been very good. I'll list links below to the other reviews on 7Artisans lenses.

Hey everyone! This is my lens review of the TTArtisan 40mm f2.8 macro. In a nutshell it's a very sharp lens for the money, and having a lens where you can shoot regular shots at 40mm AND use it for 1:1 macro is super fun. On top of that TTArtisan makes quality lenses. All metal design. When using it non-macro the lens isn't too big, and the look of it overall is rather interesting. The real enticing thing is the price. The price at the time of this video is $113, which, for a dual purpose manual lens with nice image quality is a great value. This lens would be perfect for someone who wants macro shots, and wants to upgrade from their kit lens. Just keep in mind it is manual focus, so no fancy auto focus. Hope you guys enjoy the sample photos and review!

(Widest Lens For Sony a6000?)hikyletaggart2021-09-22 | ▶ TTArtisan 7.5mm f2 Lens Review! (Widest Lens For Sony a6000?)
Hey everyone! This is a lens review video for the TTArtisan 7.5mm f2 Fisheye lens for the Sony a6100 / all Sony a6000 cameras. You can also get this lens for basically any APSC mount, like Canon EF-M, Nikon Z, Fuji X mount, and Olympus/Panasonic. I thought I'd hate a fisheye lens, as they're typically quite niche, but the overall sharpness is stellar and f2 brings the fun to the lens as well.
This lens has two unique features I haven't seen before, let alone on a fisheye lens. The lens hood can act as a round border, and accentuates a sphere look - especially on a full frame camera. The other feature is a rear ND filter. With fisheye lenses the front of the lens is too big/has a built in lens hood, so normal front filters won't work. So they made an option to place one of the two includes ND filters. Really cool idea and feature for a sub $200 lens.
Overall, I had way more fun with this lens than I anticipated. I like the price, as it's around $170, it has unique features, and it performs well. Hope you guys dig the review and examples photos/videos!

(WOKA Dural Motor Standing Desk)hikyletaggart2021-09-07 | ▶ Desk discount code below!
Hey everyone! A bucket list item I've always had in mind to review on my channel was a motorized standing desk, and here we are! I've had this desk for two months prior to publishing this video, and I've loved my time with it so far. I go over in this video the different features of the desk, such as it's anti collision system, the headphone holder, cable management tray, and the overall finish and build quality. I think even at full price, this desk is really awesome. I've seen $500+ options out there and I feel like this desk delivers on a lot of fronts and the price is a lot more reasonable overall. If you've been contemplating a sit/stand desk - do your yourself a favor - do not get a manual hand crank one! I go over in this video the Husky desk I have with a manual crank, and honestly, I hate the crank haha. The motors on this desk make changing heights super easy, and it has multiple memory points so you can save multiple heights for multiple people!
Also, Woka has been awesome enough to include a $100 OFF coupon for you guys! Which brings the price down to $269, which is incredible. The only con, which I mention in the video, us the length. I'd like a longer version, but other than that I absolutely love this desk by Woka.
Hopefully you guys enjoy this video, I know it's not a camera or lens video but it's been something I've wanted to do for a long time, and I'm extremely happy with the desk. It would have sucked to get a desk and it be terrible haha. Let me know your thoughts on the video and the desk! Thanks guys!

Hey everyone! Thought I'd change it up and just to a tips/talky type video this week. 3 Photography tips everyone should know. Do you guys agree with me? Light is the MOST important thing when it comes to photography. It just...is! You're capturing light, light essentially allows us to even do photography in the first place. Having control over lighting, having knowledge of how to use lights in a photo, is so much more important than the gear you're using. Hopefully I demonstrated that with the photo example - using a $1,000 camera (Canon RP) with a $500 lens (RF 35mm f1.8), and then a camera that is 7+ years old with a $30 lens (Sony a6000 w/ Fotasy 35mm f1.7 lens).
Something else I touch on is not being afraid of budget lenses. Or just budget gear in general. Hopefully I've conveyed over the years that you don't need to have the most expensive equipment. Better quality things does matter, you don't want something to fall apart while using it, but that doesn't mean the lens or camera body has to be $3,000 for it to be "good". A $30 lens can be a great tool - like I showed in the example photo. Viltrox - they make awesome auto focus lenses for $50-$100 less than Sony's counter parts, I think they stack up quite nicely to Sony's lenses and it's not just something I say - I use them! all the time! You get the point - you don't always need to drop top dollar to get the results you're looking for.
Last but not least - and I've been wanting to say this for a while in a video - you don't need to shoot every single photo at the fastest aperture. You can of course, but I think it's important to note that lenses get sharper as they stop down, and sometimes lenses perform very poorly wide open. A lot of people get caught up in the F stop number and maybe emulating things they see online, but stopping down a bit may get you results you're much happier with in the end. It's also hard to shoot at f0/95! it's super hard to get things in focus and tack sharp.
Anyways enough blabbering, I hope you enjoyed the video, and I;ll see you with more lens reviews soon!

A new filter system is in town and it's a really stepping the filter game up. This system by Freewell has so many different things you can do with it, it has 2 different base plates, one with MIST which is the new trend, and then the 2 VND filters have hard stops at the beginning and end of the range, and they're double sided CPL filters too. Really awesome system in it's entirety, and I love that it comes in 67mm so I could use it with the lovely Sigma 16mm f1.4. All test shots in this video were done with my Sony a6100 and the Sigma 16mm f1.4 and the various Freewell VND filters.
Another cool thing is you can use this syetm with previous magnetic filters by Freewell too. Overall I'm really impressed with the value of the entire system, as other filters cost the same or more for 1 filter.
Hope you guys enjoyed the video and the change of pace being outside!

Hey everyone! This is a lens review of the 7Artisans 60mm f2.8 II and the Pergear 60mm f2.8. Both of these lenses are macro lenses, and both were just released. In this video I compare both lenses build quality, lens and aperture rings, front element, macro magnification, bokeh, and I give my opinion on each lens and what I think some of the advantages and disadvantages are for each. Both of these lens are incredible for macro photography, both aren't super expensive, and you can use these on any sony e mount camera, like the a6000, 6400, 6600 ect.
Some things I forgot to mention in the video are: I was sent these lenses for FREE to review, but as you guys hopefully know, I don't get told to say anything in my videos, and I give my honest opinion on them. Both the 7Artisans and Pergear are APS-C lenses, meaning they're designed for cameras like the a6000. The lenses are sold in different mounts, like fuji, canon, nikon, m 4/3. Also I somehow didn't mention in the video that the 7 Artisans 60mm f2.8 is the Mark II, so this is a new an improved version from the one I previously reviewed.
Hope you guys dig this macro lens review. It was a doozy to put together, and it took a long time to make haha. I had audio issues, so again I apologize about that. Anyways, hope this video helped anyone looking to buy a macro lens for their Sony a6000 or similar camera! Thanks!

In this video I explain and show my photo editing workflow. I either transfer photos through wifi, using my Sony a6000 or a6100, or I use an SD card adapter for my iphone or ipad. Super simple stuff but there is a catch when transferring RAW files over wifi. RAW files get converted to jpegs. It has to do with just how large the RAW files are (usually 24mb) and it converts them to jpegs for faster transfer. If you want the RAW files, you'll need to use an SD Card adapter. I've linked below everything I use in this video, from SD cards to adapters and all that good stuff! Hope you guys enjoyed the video!

Hey everyone! In this video I review the new @Pergear 10mm f8 pancake lens, and use the lens on my Sony a6000. I show test photos and test video in the video. There are a couple unique things about this lens, like a manual lever for focus distance, and just it's incredibly small and light size! It seems there a couple lenses like this out there, but this is the one from Pergear, and it's made specifically for APS-C cameras like the Sony a6000, a6100, ect. Hopefully you guys enjoy this video of a quirky yet fun lens!

In this short video I show examples taken with the kit lens for the Sony a6000, as well as a photo with the Sony 35mm f1.8. Hopefully these quick tips helped out! The next time you're taking a portrait and want more depth of field/bokeh, direct your subject to be closer to you, and further from the background. Additionally, you can achieve a creamy out of focus background by using a lens with a lower f stop (aperture number). The Sony 35mm f1.8 is a great step from from the kit lens, which shoots as low as f3.5 at 16mm. More quick tip videos to come!

The Canon M50 was a camera virtually everyone loved. Hey everyone! In this video I review the Sony 55-210mm f4.5-6.3 zoom lens for Sony cameras like the Sony a6000, a6100, and so on. This lens has gotten some flack in reviews for not being the sharpest lens in the world, and they're not wrong, but the usefulness of a lens like this for both beginner and experts cannot be overlooked. This lens can do so many different things, it can be used for wild life, birding, portraits, moon shots, outdoor sports, it really does have a lot of application and I've had a lot of fun using it! Hey everyone! Back at it with another lens review. Viltrox 23mm f1.4 lens with auto focus for the Sony a6000 lineup. Super stoked on seeing Viltrox enter the Sony APS-C lens range, and this lens did not disappoint. In the video I do cover some cons, like the way the manual aperture ring works, and the "A" setting on it. Overall though, despite the quirks of this thing it is SHARP, fast with the f1.4 maximum aperture, and the auto focus is great. Auto focus is great with video as well! Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed this video just going over my initial impressions of the Sony A7C. For me personally, I want more megapixels, a better screen/viewfinder, and a new look. They gave us a new look, which I'm for, but they didn't give us more MP, or a better screen or EVF, and then Sony is raving about the "compact" size. I've held the a6600, and it doesn't feel..."small", and that's not full frame. I am really stoked to try this camera though, it could be a future camera for me in regards to my YouTube channel, but from a photography standpoint, it's not something I think I'll pick up. Hands-on experience is important though, bc I could end up loving it, we shall see!

Sometimes it's nice to just talk about photography and discuss things, rather than a gear video every week. Hopefully you can relate to this video and hear where I'm coming from. Most beginners need help when they get into photography, and NOT shooting in manual mode should never be something someone holds over your head and makes you feel "less" of a photographer. Hey everyone! This was a fun video to make, and I hope you guys enjoy it. Just kind of a sit down and chat video about something new and exciting. This camera is specifically aimed at being video/vlogging camera. No viewfinder (forgot to mention that), and it's got cool new features like a product focus button/mode, and a background blur button/mode. Cameras are changing with the times, and this camera aims itself t a very specific audience. Honestly, I think my biggest gripe, after having seen so much about it, is the image quality doesn't WOW me. I want to get my hands on one to see if this camera can truly be an amazing vlogging camera. On paper, it seems like it's an amazing option for vlogging, especially for beginners.

Hey everyone! Another manual lens review, and this time it's the Pergear 50mm f1.8. This thing is the bruce wayne of manual lenses. The lens comes in either the Sony E (NEX) mount, or micro 4/3's, or Fuji X mount. I spent a couple weeks with this lens on my Sony a6000 and my sony a6100 and dangit, it was so fun! In the video I go over some of the specs, and then give my opinions on how the lens feels, performs, and a ton of example photos. Hope you guys dig the review!

(2020)hikyletaggart2020-05-03 | ▶ Are these the best ND filters for the Sony a6000?!
Hey everyone! The long awaiting video for ND filters for your Sony a6000, a6100, a64000, and so forth, is here! Sandmarc has been an outstanding company who's worked with me in the past, and although they make a ton of mobile phone ND filters, they've now gotten into the mirrorless ND filter game. I checked out their 67mm Hybrid Pro filters that would fit the Sigma 16mm f1.4 like glove. Checkout the video and let me know what you think!
Big thanks to Sandmarc for sending me these filters to review. Sandmarc did not tell me anything in regards to this video, they just sent me the items to check out.
