Explaining Mental WebCamille Bigeault2026-09-19 | Explaining Mental WebHow to groove in 4/4 over a 5 vs 7 polyrhythm #polyrhythm #camillebigeault #polymeterCamille Bigeault2024-01-30 | [Better with headphones]
Hey guys! Here's an extract of my last live session, when I was rehearsing my track Mental Web - it's a track composed from a 5 vs 7 polyrhythm, and in this part I play it in 4/4 while accenting the guitar riff with the kick!
I hope to do an other live session with you soon!
It's like I'm trying to pack too many things to do into a too tiny box right now. I will have more time in 3 weeks!
Let me know in the comments what you would like to talk about, or what exercises you'd like us to play together etc in the next live session!

This is the 5th and last video of our little serie on "fun ideas to play over any ostinato". I choose the rumba clave 2-3 as the ostinato I'll work on (since I'm actually working on it these days haha). In this video, the idea is to play one rhythmic phrase in 7 on a loop while keeping the ostinato on the foot playing ๐
You can apply this same principle with every rythmic phrase on any ostinato you want to work on!
Do you want to try it?Camille Bigeault - Super Moria Bros (Live at Bagshow 2022)Camille Bigeault2024-01-17 | Hi guys!
Here is a composition I played at the Bagshow (Paris drum festival) in October 2022. Super Moria Bros is a track I made in 2017 with only virtual instruments on Logic Pro. It's super fun to play! The drumless version is available to purchase on my website: camillebigeault.com/shop
Huge thanks to Thierry Lalite and @Labaguetterie that produced the video (and for this amazing Bagshow!) Video editing & Audio mix: Jean Luc Dehayes

This is a first drum practice live session! It's half live - as my internet connexion in the drum studio is not great, I recorded all my practice session with the sound and the cameras beforehand - but I'm here live with you behind my computer (you'll see me sometimes haha) ready to chat with you alongside this live and answer your questions! I wish you a good time!

This is the 4th video of the serie "fun ideas to play over any ostinato". In this video, the idea is to play one rhythmic phrase and to repeat it with one 16th note silence in between the phrases. You can play it over one same element or orchestrate the phrases over different elements like I did here with the toms. This way, we explore every possible placement of the phrase on our ostinato!
You can apply this same principle with every rythmic phrase on any ostinato you want to work on! I choose the rumba clave 2-3 as the ostinato (since I quite enjoy working on it these days haha).
Have fun ๐๐ and I wish you all a happy 2024!Fun things you can play over an ostinato #3Camille Bigeault2023-12-27 | Rumba clave time again!
This is the third video of our little serie on "fun ideas to play over any ostinato". I choose the rumba clave 2-3 as the ostinato I'll work on (since I'm actually working on it these days haha). In this video, the idea is to play one rhythmic phrase and to shift it from one 16th note every 2 repetitions. This way, we explore every possible placement of the phrase on our clave!
You can apply this same principle with every rythmic phrase on any ostinato you want to work on!
Have fun ๐๐ and happy celebration time!

#polyrhythms #drumostinato #rumbaclaveDrum/voice cover - Everyones Moving Out East (Half Moon Run) extractCamille Bigeault2023-12-20 | [Headphones please :D]
This is an extract of Everyone's Moving Out East, a song by Half Moon Run, which I enjoyed covering with a drum/voice arrangement. If you don't know this band already, I warmly encourager you to check them out! It's a band I discovered 5 years ago and that I find to be one of the most inspiring to me.
I know that isn't the best sound mix but I did what I could :) I hope you'll enjoy it and that it will make you listen to Half Moon run!
#halfmoonrun #camillebigeault #drumvideosWould you try this phrasing exercice? #rumbaclave #polyrhythms #ostinatoCamille Bigeault2023-12-11 | [Fun ideas to play over an ostinato]
The second video of the serie is here!
This time, the idea is to play different melodies with the toms. The first melody is based on five 16th notes, the second with the 3 toms lasts seven 16th notes, and the last is a nine-16th note melody on the 4 toms!
The snare is here to remind us where is the one of each rumba clave round in 4/4.
That same principle of playing with melodies of different lengths applies on any ostinato you want to work on!
Do you want to try it? ๐Getting bored of your groove? Use these variations!Camille Bigeault2023-12-08 | From an old video of mines called "right hand variations". This is a short made from one old video on my ytbe channel called "june's amusement". I play an ostinato on the toms in 4/4, add some feet ostinato in 5/16 and my left hand (snare then cowbell) in 3/16!Fun things you can play over an ostinato #1Camille Bigeault2023-11-28 | Rumba clave time!
This is the first video of a little serie on "fun ideas to play over any ostinato". I choose the rumba clave 2-3 as the ostinato I'll work on (since I'm actually working on it these days haha). In this video, the idea is to play one 16th note over 2, then two 16th notes over 3, then three 16th notes over 4, etc... until 8 16th notes over 9. That automatically creates shifts since the rumba ostinato is made of sixteen 16th notes (in the way I count it). This is very fun to work on and creates interesting musical ideas! You can apply it over any ostinato you want.
The sticking is simple: only an alternance of right/left whatever happens.
I hope you'll enjoy it, and see you soon for the next video of this serie!
