FF6 NMG Kefka Fight
updated
I actually made this a month ago but didn't upload it since I had no idea what to put as a visual. Looking at a black screen would've been boring. So I finally decided to go ahead try my hand at editing Sans's in-game sprite to look like Dust Sans. And then I just kinda... kept editing and making changes and then colored it until I wound up with what you see here.
But yeah. This was an attempt at a thing, and I like how it turned out :D

I went into these fights completely blind. I also had no idea which typings a lot of the opponent's Pokemon were, which made things interesting. I managed to beat the first four Elite 4 members in one go, though the Champion took 3 attempts.
This battle was more intense than I expected. The first two tries I lost badly. After swapping Umbray's moonlight for toxic, I was able to win. I didn't realize it would start at 0 PP though. Whoops.
If you're wondering why Hounvile knows razor shell, I'm kind of wondering the same too. Sneasel was fused with a shelder when I caught it. When I unfused it and then fused it with Houndoom, I had options to learn razor shell and clamp from the move reminder. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact I caught it as a fused pokemon. It was helpful though!
Electidos was the main hurdle for me to overcome. It's what killed my first two runs and is the entire reason I brought toxic. I'm glad I did because those dragon dances would've ended me.
The ending seemed kind of anti-climactic. Not sure why there was no music.
Overall, it was a fun battle.

I was hoping to get through without using any items, but unfortunately this battle changed that. I got greedy with healing against Porydra and paid for it. I didn't expect to get frozen and I didn't realize it had recover. Whoops. I have no idea why I used thunderbolt on Typhnair when I knew it was part dragon.
Overall, it was a fun battle.

It's a battle of the Umbreon fusions at the end... sort of. I got impatient and switched out. Trying to work out what abilities the opponents have can be rough.

Lorelei's first pokemon gave me trouble, but the rest of her team was easy at least.
Bruno was almost a clean sweep. Magnenix was annoying and I didn't expect the full restore. I wasn't sure what its typing would be which is why I tried going for aura sphere next. Then I went for it again at the end just for the sake of being thematic, but then he healed...

This game is really, really easy to break if you know what you're doing.
Getting here was the difficult part due to having only 1 character in each party, just like a CES run. I died to random encounters many, many times on the way here. Some of the bosses were also fairly difficult. Thankfully, the pixel remaster lets you reset back from the last room you were in if you die.
Most of this run was fairly relaxed, to be honest. I just felt like playing the game using my three favorite characters. The main difficulty was the sections of the game where you can't use either of these three since my other party members were really low level.

Sadly, I don't exactly have the best video editing program, so the quality isn't as high as I would have liked for it to have been.
Between transposing all of the instrument parts into Starbound, recording everything, and all the math, hours of rendering and editing etc. that went into this, it took about two months to finish. I am happy with it though.
The mods used in this video are Frackin Universe, One-handed Instruments, Kitsune Race, Kemono Race, Lyceen Race, Galaxy Foxes, Mauskin, Bunnykin Race, The Wanderers, Rutikal Race, and GnollBound.
Unfortunately, Movie Studio is crashing on me upon starting it up, so I don't have a way to edit videos. I'm not sure yet if it's possible to record just a segment of a match with the Switch's replay recorder or not. If so, I'll take advantage of that more. But yeah, that's why I uploaded a full match instead of just the clip.
This was a match vs. a random on wifi. I was the K. Rool.
So today I learned Mii Gunner is a lot better than I thought. Also I'm really going to need to put in a lot of work to get better at this game. Main downside of not playing smash all throughout Smash 4.

I'll probably be uploading videos from time to time while we're trying out characters in Ultimate. I'm sure my Duck Hunt play isn't the best since I don't know much about him yet, but he is a pretty interesting character. I like him.

Oh well, it was a fun song.
Not sure why the audio quality got bad. Oh well.
I'm guessing it's some bug with Maokai using W right after Tahm Kench eats him? He just sorta... was stuck in W animation.
Unfortunately, this boss was not exactly playing nice with multiplayer, teleporting around and such, which is really bad because the head one-shots you, so I had to figure out a way to beat it solo.
Now, I could have looked up guides for how to beat this boss using only items from the Calamity mod, but I wanted to figure out my own way to fight it. I learned quickly that most weapons and armor from other mods would lag this boss so badly that it was pretty much unplayable, so I had to stick to Calamity weapons and armor instead. I got close to beating it with just Calamity things, but decided to try The Omega Core accessory from the Thorium mod that lets you run super fast just to see what would happen. It wound up making the fight a LOT of fun, so I stuck with it until I could finally beat it.
I did learn that if you get out of his range, he will zoom at you, slowing down a bit as he gets within a certain range of you, allowing you to outrun it with The Omega Core as it chases you for a while. Eventually it will stop charging and will go up. If you stand near its body, it will do 2-3 loops before becoming a bit more unpredictable, so from that point, I just run out of its range a bit. I imagine it is possible to manipulate its AI like this if you use teleporters as well.
I will admit I was fully abusing the fact that I was using the Experience and Classes mod, being a tank class to survive longer. My damage is a lot weaker than what it would be for most players, but this is the character I chose to play through this, so it's what I'm sticking with. I'm sure with enough practice, I'd be able to beat this boss without it.
There are downsides to using the Omega Core as you can see in this video. It's hard to control your movement, so the horizontal lasers are difficult to dodge. I did learn that it is possible to jump at the right time and not get hit by them though. I can't just ignore all of them and take the hits or I will die.
Honestly, I had a lot of fun with this fight. I didn't think I would be able to beat it, but I eventually got familiar enough with it that I won. Hurray.
As a disclaimer, I don't consider myself good at Terraria by any means. I'm just someone who wants to enjoy the content of these mods and see what comes next. I'm playing a tank class specifically because I suck at dodging. I just wanted to show a fun way that I found to fight this boss. Part of me wonders if it's possible to do this with minecarts.
