Of course they do, but in this context Rennick was referring to CO2 molecules (he wrongly called them 'atoms') colliding with other molecules of N2 and O2, and passing on energy according to Newton's 3rd law. In this case it is not the weight that passes on energy, it is mass. That's what the 'm' stands for in Newton's Third Law. The reason physicists use mass and not weight is that weight varies. In interstellar space weight is effectively zero, and even on Earth weight varies depending on your location. If Rennick had submitted a test paper to my old physics teacher, he would have been marked down for referring to 'weight' and not 'mass' in Newton's Laws of Motion. Is Arctic ice rebounding? How I got CDN to finally issue a correction! potholer54 2024-05-05 | UPDATE: Robson has now removed the video, as I suggested, and re-uploaded a corrected version. He does so very begrudgingly, calling it simply a 'revised edition,' with no mention of the error, and even complains about people who pointed out the mistake. He writes: "This revised version corrects one trivial graphic animation production error that an army of trolls attempted to turn into a cause célèbre." People often tell me that the scientific method is flawed, pointing to peer-review and retracted papers as weaknesses. They turn instead to YouTube amateurs like Rosbon. But peer review is fact-checking. Papers are retracted because science endeavours to correct mistakes. Flawed at it is, Robson represents the opposite -- the junk science mode, where nothing is fact-checked and mistakes only get corrected if an "army of trolls" press for corrections. Thrown to the wind are wind farms really killing whales? potholer54 2024-02-24 | CORRECTIONS:Not a correction in this case, just a response to a few people who thought there was a correlation between whale deaths and wind farm activity off the New England coast -- a negative correlation. This is where whale deaths go down, but wind farm activity goes up. But no such relationship exists. There is no correlation at all, either positive or negative. That's why I said 'There's no correlation.' I did not mean there's no positive correlation or I would have said so. You scan see the complete lack of correlation very clearly in the graphs shown. And since I am still getting messages from people who think there's a negative correlation, I'll give you the dates. Whale deaths went up from 2015 to 2017 when there was NO wind farm activity at all. That is not a correlation, either positive or negative. There is a negative correlation between 2017 and 2019. Then from 2019 to 2022 there is a decline in whale deaths when we are told there is "lots and lots" of wind activity, but no trend. No trend means no correlation, either positive or negative. So five years of NO correlation and two years of a negative correlation means that for the time period looked at -- 2015 to 2022 -- there was no correlation. I checked this, and it's not correct. The three people in question, Allison Deperte, Sammy Choo and Paul Tonna, do indeed have links to the wind industry and are among more than a dozen members of the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSC) Board. But they have no involvement in necropsies, that is handled by qualified marine biologists and vets. Neither does the AMCS handle all the necropsies, other organisations are also involved.) I didn’t play the sound of a pile driver because that wasn’t mentioned in Shellenberger’s video, but I did show the figure for how loud it is. Pile driving is easily the noisiest part of wind development. But it can be mitigated by starting the pile driving very softly, so that whales in the area are alerted, and slowly move away if necessary. The last surviving scientist on Japans atomic bomb program tells his story (Dr. Tatsusaburo Suzuki) potholer54 2024-01-13 | This is a tape-recording of a press conference given by Tatsusaburo Suzuki, the physicist who initiated Japan's atomic bomb program during WWII. He wrote a report in 1940 saying an atomic bomb was feasible, and recommended its construction. He became the army liaison with the research team. He was the only member of the team to speak publicly about the program, and he only did so once, at a press conference in 1995. The only recording of that press conference is on an old cassette tape at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ), so when I was in Tokyo a few years ago I made a digital copy for posterity. I am posting it here, to make it available to scholars, historians and anyone else who wants to research the history of the bomb. The background and summary in this video are based on that press conference, which I attended as a correspondent for New Scientist magazine. But please note an important correction: Suzuki did not, in fact, say that they had succeed in U235-U238 separation 'to a satisfactory degree.' He simply said they did not succeed. Other sources are Japanese historians and sources close to Japanese criminal gangs, as well as books I read while stationed in Japan, including the first edition of 'Japan's Secret War' by Robert Wilcox, 'Kempeitai' by Lamont-Brown (about the Japanese Imperial Army's intelligence force). There is also a book on the Imperial Japanese Navy's intelligence force, the Tokkeitai, but decades after the event I can't remember the title, sorry. The summary and background are not as important as the press conference, where you will hear Suzuki's testimony directly. There is a recent movie about Japan`s atom bomb research called Taiyo no ko (太陽の子.) You'll see the same account of events in a few blogs and videos, but be careful -- the blogs and videos are simply copying their info from the movie, which is largely a work of fiction. There are also reports that Japan set off a test atomic bomb just before the end of the war, but there is very little evidence of that.

Catholic Commandments are numbered differently to Protestant ones, and both are different to the Jewish Commandments.2) I said: Referring to a black hole, I said: "Even light can't overcome gravity and escape." I should have said: "Even light _gets trapped by the intense warping of space caused by gravity."_ CORRECTION/CLARIFICATION: A number of people have criticised my representation of singularity, as if it were a real thing rather than a mathematical concept. Others say the idea of singularity has gone out of favor among cosmologists. As I said in the video, I'm not trying to give a full-on physics lecture here, just rebutting the creationist idea that the universe came from 'nothing' or that there were 'particles' inside singularity that 'exploded.' I rebutted both ideas by explaining that the universe did not come from 'nothing', it came from 'something' -- singularity. No, that does not mean singularity is a 'solid object' as someone thought I was saying. It just means it was not nothing. Even a mathematical concept where the laws of physics break down is still 'something.' I also explained that there were no particles in the center of singularity because singularity had no center. It was an infinitely dense point with no space and no time. I do appreciate that the concept of singularity is flawed, because although this is what the mathematics shows (in theory) researchers still don't have the physics to explain it. But although it's out of favor, I have visited numerous university websites, and they still use the singularity model. I also read several physics discussion sites, which all agree that the idea of singularity needs to be refined; but they can't agree how. The best comment I saw was from Paul Matt Sutter, an astrophysicist with Ohio State University, who said: "A singularity is a place of infinite density, and that's not really a thing." Who was Anne? She was the mother of Mary (you know, as in The Virgin Mary.) The 'immaculate conception' was not the conception of Jesus but the conception of Mary. i.e. born 'without sin.' Please don't blame me, I didn't make it up. But if I was a Christian, I would wonder why we can't all be born that way. Too much trouble? Physics students are bound to say 'You forgot to mention..." because I've only given the basics here, this isn't a physics course. The information is accurate (except for any corrections you'll see below), but I have kept it simple. So yes, there was deuterium -- a neutron and a proton -- after the Big Bang. And protons on their own, which are hydrogen ions. A lot of the early atoms wouldn't have had electrons. Also, I gave a very scant explanation on why light can't escape a black hole. This is also a huge area of physics that I won't go into. Gravity warps space, and light follows space. If space is warped tightly, as in a black hole, light follows this curvature. Another way of looking at it, from the Newtonian point of view, is that a black hole is so dense that the escape velocity is greater than the speed of light. I suggest that undergraduates shouldn't use this video to revise for physics exams, it's a basic guide in order to understand why creationists got it wrong. There are plenty of good websites explaining these things at undergraduate level.

After I spent 40 minutes showing all the fabrications and omissions in the first episode, not one Hancock fan disagreed. Instead, most of the replies I got were "Whatabout...." I don't have the time or energy to debunk every single episode in the series. I started with episode one for obvious reasons, and in response to the most popular 'whatabout' I tackle episode five in this video. If you are unvaccinated, and therefore vulnerable, then of course the pandemic is still very real. You can still get infected, and you have a much higher chance of dying. But that's your choice. I can't put my life on hold for you. See my videos on vaccination and Covid-19 and get informed. Similarly, if you live in China, or a country where vaccinations are low and there are still restrictions, I'm sorry. There the pandemic is also still very real. But I can't stay home until every single country is over this. I'll just sum this up by saying that clearly ape genomes and virus genomes are not comparing like-for-like, the comparison merely highlights the difference that a small genetic difference can make in an organism. The point being made -- which hasn't changed -- is that it would take years to forcibly 'evolve' SARS-Cov2 from RaTG13 in a lab, even if it could be done. Also, for clarification, I am talking about *genetic* differences. I said in the video: "On the second argument, a response paper to Segreto and Deigin pointed out that there's about a 4% *genetic* difference between RaTG13 and SARS-Cov-2. That may not sound like much, but there's only a 1% genetic diference between humans and chimpanzees." This refers to the number of differences between the genes of one species or organism and another. 2) One of the posters wrote: "At 6.27 - The paper by Zou et al is describing RmYNO2.
