The Turkish show aims to connect Western and Eastern AM companies and adopters at a time when international trade connections are more needed and difficult to establish than before.
Expo 3D Istanbul closed its latest edition at the Istanbul Fair Center on September 19, 2026, after three days that brought more than 15,000 visitors through a show floor covering 6,000 square meters. The event hosted 100 exhibiting companies representing over 250 brands, with organizers putting the trade volume generated on site at 450 million Turkish lira, numbers that positioned this year's fair as one of the region's larger additive manufacturing gatherings.
The show ran alongside the fifth International 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing Conference, held with the support of Yıldız Technical University, and drew visitors from the defense, automotive, aerospace and medical sectors alongside engineers, designers and manufacturing buyers. Exhibits covered metal 3D printing, polymers, bioengineering, construction, footwear, furniture, marine and healthcare applications, underscoring Istanbul's role as a crossing point for additive manufacturing business between Turkey, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.A visit to Stratasys HQVoxelMatters2026-09-15 | After a few years away, I was finally able to visit Israel again, and while there, I was invited to see Stratasys' headquarters and get an update on where the industry's market leader stands after a period of turmoil across additive manufacturing as a whole.
I found a company consolidating around its most profitable technologies, FDM, PolyJet, SLA, and Origin's DLP, while integrating new opportunities like Markforged and expanding collaboration with other players in the industry, including its direct competitors, through the AM Marketplace.Snapmaker Space enters closed beta and more news from Formnext Asia ShenzhenVoxelMatters2026-09-13 | Spokesperson Hao Jiang told VoxelMatters at Formnext Asia Shenzhen how the new Snapmaker Space marketplace fits into the U1's push into color printing.
Snapmaker moved Snapmaker Space into closed beta days before Formnext Asia Shenzhen, testing the new model marketplace with more than 1,000 curated multi-color and multi-material designs built exclusively for the U1.
Each model carries a U1-ready print profile, so an owner can pick a design and send it to print in one click, without adjusting color assignments or material settings by hand. The platform reaches users through a browser, the Snapmaker app, and the Snapmaker Orca slicer.
The U1's color process rests on Full Spectrum, a color-mixing technique that blends four base materials into a full color range. Jiang credited the method to Radu, known in the 3D printing community by his online handle Ratdoux, who built Full Spectrum independently before Snapmaker brought him on to lead its development inside the company.
Jiang said Radu was now adapting Snapmaker's slicing software to work with the technique directly.Formnext Asia Shenzhen 2026 - A new phase of growthVoxelMatters2026-09-08 | Formnext Asia Shenzhen is following a path similar to the one Formnext in Frankfurt followed: rapid growth, plenty of excitement, many new companies joining in, and a community growing at high speed. The main difference is the scale and the key applications. While Formnext in Germany was driven by aerospace, automotive, energy, and medical applications, it remained largely limited to prototyping, with production scale-up still more of a dream than a reality. Formnext in China is driven by consumer products, desktop 3D printing, and industrial components and tools, and in China, production is already a reality.
It's a different place and a different time. AM technologies have had more than 10 years to evolve since the first Formnext in Germany, yet adoption has not scaled significantly in the West. Here in China, AM adoption is massive. Whether that translates into real and usable commercial applications remains to be seen. In the meantime, however, the show is a whirlwind of exciting innovations, new business models, revolutionary AI-driven software capabilities, and breakthrough products breaking through cost barriers.HP MEDIA DAY 2027VoxelMatters2026-07-29 | At its recent media day, HP marked 10 years since it first showed the world Multi Jet Fusion, the powder bed fusion technology that became the foundation of its 3D printing business. VoxelMatters sat down separately with Alex Monino, SVP and GM of Additive Manufacturing Solutions at HP, who joined the 3D printing effort in 2013 and has run the commercial side of it since. The conversation traces the arc from a blank sheet of paper in the early 2010s to a business Monino said is now growing at 25 percent and to the launch of the HP 1200, the company's newest and most accessible MJF system.HP MJF 1200 hands onVoxelMatters2026-07-29 | The HP Multi Jet Fusion 1200 3D Printer Solution is a smaller-format system built around the same core MJF technology used across HP’s existing polymer portfolio. The printer offers a 12-liter build volume and includes automated processes for part unpacking, material mixing, and build preparation. Every unit ships with Magics Print for HP, a build-preparation software developed with Materialise as part of the CO-AM ecosystem, covering nesting, part orientation, and build layout.

Learn why in our video review.
The Snapmaker is a lot of fun to use, but more importantly, it prints incredibly well. We have now accumulated significant experience working with several multi-color 3D printers. Each one does some things very well and others less well.
The Snapmaker U1 has tons of impressive features that rapidly made this one of our favorite 3D printers. Ever. But also some things that could be improved. And that's what we set out to find out and illustrate in this review.
The machine has been so much fun to use that we also decided to provide a more in-depth review of what it's like to actually use this printer for several weeks. The Snapmaker team provided us with many more materials to test, even though many items in the website shop are currently out of stock (that's a good thing, right?).
So before publishing this review, we—at the very least—had to try all of them. The machine makes it easy to swap materials, but the most impressive feature is how quickly it switches between filaments during printing. And how little material is wasted. This is the real game changer—although it does have some limitations.
See it for yourselves.Visit to the new Axtra 3D European headquarters in Vicenza. Amazing SLA+DLP technology!VoxelMatters2026-06-09 | VoxelMatters visited Axtra 3D’s newly opened European headquarters in Vicenza before and sat down for a conversation with Gianni Zitelli, Founder & CEO of Axtra 3D.
The company turned five in April. What began as a friends-and-family seed round in May 2021 has grown into a multinational operation with two facilities, more than 60 installations worldwide, and a repeat customer rate that Zitelli cited as the clearest measure of the company’s health.
Axtra 3D‘s core offering is the Lumia X1, an industrial-grade SLA printer built around what the company calls Hybrid PhotoSynthesis — a simultaneous laser and 4K DLP imaging system. The laser handles detail work and external walls at a 50-micron spot size, while the DLP projection addresses large surface areas at speed. A proprietary layer-separation mechanism called TruLayer dynamically manages resin detachment, eliminating the hydrostatic forces associated with conventional DLP and LCD printing and enabling consistent imaging across the entire build plate without extended curing intervals.
The result, as Zitelli demonstrated with parts pulled directly from the production floor, is a machine capable of moving between geometrically opposite applications without process changes. A three-kilogram mold printed in a single run sat next to a micro-stent produced on the same hardware and in the same material. Connectors with through-holes in the 50-micron range—a customer produces close to 1,000 per week—illustrated the throughput side of the equation.Bambu Lab X2D, initial unboxingVoxelMatters2026-04-28 | Bambu Lab launched the X2D today, April 14. Designed as a successor to its X1 series, the system introduces a mechanical nozzle-switching mechanism, active-chamber thermal management, and AI-derived calibration logic carried over from the company’s H series.
The printer’s defining feature is a dual extrusion architecture that integrates two extruder configurations into a single printhead without adding a motor to the toolhead. The primary nozzle uses a direct-drive setup, while the secondary nozzle operates in a Bowden configuration with the motor mounted at the rear of the machine. The arrangement allows the primary nozzle to print the model while the secondary deposits support material from a different filament—one chosen for tool-free removal. Bambu Lab said durability testing logged more than one million switching cycles without performance loss.
VoxelMatters was one of the very few specialized media to receive it.

According to Chikai Eto's report for TCT Asia, the U1 was the most funded 3D printer on Kickstarter at $20.61 million. The company was super efficient in getting the machine to VoxelMatters for testing in time for the April 10th launch. While it won't be possible to do a full review in this short time, we did get through unpacking, setting up and printing over the past couple of days. It was a very positive experience, and we thought it would be useful to share our initial impressions while we work on testing the machine over a longer period.Nike Air Max 95000VoxelMatters2025-10-25 | Nike and Zellerfeld are transitioning their 3D printing partnership from limited pilots to a multi-year development platform, beginning with the release of the Air Max 95000. Revealed at ComplexCon in Las Vegas on October 24, the sneaker evolves the design DNA of the Air Max 95 while integrating Project Nectar, Nike’s new print-first method designed to enhance outsole durability, traction, and surface detailing. Discover the innovative design of the Nike Air Max 95000, blending comfort and cutting-edge technology in sneaker production 3D printing. This marks Nike’s second model created with Zellerfeld, following the Air Max 1000. Unlike earlier experimental runs, the 95000 is intended as a foundation for repeatable, multi-color production. Zellerfeld’s Gen3 printers allow for complex, single-pass builds with parametric fit and multicolor capability, eliminating the need for molds or traditional assembly.Zellerfeld 3D printed shoes unboxingVoxelMatters2025-09-29 | With Nike and Havaianas embracing the Zellerfeld online platform, is the Zellerfeld revolution in 3D printed footwear ready to hit the mainstream? That's what we aim to discover in this VoxelMatters Review.
After extensively testing the Zellerfeld platform with two models over the past year – the TREX from Footsoldier and the CUPRA Parametric – we can confidently say that while mass-market adoption may take some time, the business already stands firmly on its own and shows enormous growth potential. Fully 3D printed, monolithic footwear may not be for everyone yet, but thousands—and potentially millions—of people worldwide are ready to walk this way.
The fact that many others (especially in China) are now entering the 3D-printed footwear space further reinforces Zellerfeld Founder Cornelius Schmitt’s vision. He may not have invented the concept from scratch, but he was the one who truly set it in motion when VoxelMatters first covered Zellerfeld 3D printing platform launch in New York in 2019.Bambu Lab H2S unboxingVoxelMatters2025-08-29 | While I was in Shenzhen for the Formnext Asia Shenzhen 3D printing show, the new H2S from Bambu Lab was making its way from Shenzhen to my house in Milano, Italy. This reliability makes it an ideal candidate to compete in some industrial production settings, for example, with multiple Form 4 3D printers used to address production demands, at an overall much lower cost than a single large machine. With that said, having a Form 4 at home opens infinite possibilities and makes you want to 3D print nonstop. New possibilities in terms of 3D model shops and apps that enable the rapid creation of 3D printable files from photos, and even written prompts, make it even easier to find uses for a 3D printer. The Form 4 is ideal for hundreds of prosumers and professional applications. While filament machines do offer some advantages in terms of durable material choice, if you take away the hassle of handling the resins – which the Form 4 does extremely well – stereolithography 3D printing is superior for many applications that require precision, like many prototype, models, tools and mechanical end-use parts that are printed at home or in studios, offices, laboratories, shops and factories.
I got to test the full Form 4 solution for three months, and it has been an incredibly fulfilling experience that made me fall in love with 3D printing again. I now understand why, when I said I’d be testing this machine, many people in the industry who use and/or resell them told me I’d be in for a great time. Resellers may naturally show enthusiasm about their products, but I rarely saw so much passion for a 3D printer.
For starters, I tested Grey V5 Resin and Clear Resin V5 materials. I’ve been printing so much that I don’t even know where to start, so I’ll start from the beginning.3D printing a maritime drone hull by LFAM at Royal 3DVoxelMatters2025-04-02 | Royal3D, an experienced company in large-scale additive manufacturing, continues to set new maritime and heavy-duty manufacturing standards.
