That on it's own would be a fun new twist, but what convinced me to play it is a roguelike approach where killing zombies earns you XP and allows you to pick upgrades for your plants. What's the goal? Well, the only game mode available is Endless, but even endless has an end - and the game wants you to reach minute 26 for the last achievement milestone.
