KUHN Vari-Master L Smart Plough w/ Section Control | FENDT 933 vario | Perfect ins and outs Tractorspotter 2022-12-18 | I saw this interesting new KUHN Vari-Master L Smart Plough at work at Willemsens arable farms in Biddinghuizen in the Netherlands. It is still a 0 series model of only two of which are tested this year. Raising and lowering each plough body individually eliminates the V or Z -shaped patterns at the headland – left when the plough is lowered and raised coming in and out of work each time. This makes it difficult to plough the headland “neatly”. This not only reduces the number of times the tractor passes over the headland, thereby reducing soil compaction, but also ensures all surface trash at the furrow/headland interface is buried effectively.The control of each individual body is based on GPS positioning data.Hopefully next year I can make a more comprehensive video ;)Thanks for watching! The potatoes are carted away using New Holland T7 tractors with Veenhuis and Miedema trailers. Due to the heavy rainfall, some potatoes had rotted and the harvesting had to be postponed until the rotten potatoes had completely rotted away. Strip farming or cropping is a method of farming on 3-metre wide strips where they are alternately nine different crops alongside each other. Creating more biodiversity in the field so the crops stay more healthy without spraying or fertilizer. They also use Controlled traffic farming (CTF) a system built on permanent wheel tracks where the crop zone and traffic lanes are permanently separate, resulting in only local compaction of the soil in the same spot every year. Two self propelled 4-row AVR Puma and Grimme Varitron harvesters lift the spuds out the soil. This year they switched to CTF farming ( Controlled traffic farming) where the tractor travels on the same track with every operation. Merging different operations in one pass reduces the number of times the tractor travels across the field. Hemp Harvest | HempFlax | John Deere T660i Double Cut Combine | For CBD oil Tractorspotter 2019-09-03 | Harvesting fiber hemp using a converted John Deere T660i Double Cut Combine from HempFlax of Oude Pekela, The Netherlands. This machine separates the tops and leaves form the fiber rich stems in one pass. The tops and leaves go to be processed and dried and can be used for making CBD oil or hemp tea for example. When the growing conditions are right the combine can also be used for threshing the hemp seeds out of the tops.The stems are left on the ground and after a process of rotting, the stems are baled and processed and can be used in the textile industrie or for composite materials in the car industry.The John Deere T660i combine is converted be the Dutch John Deere dealer GroeNoord. On the standerd crop import channel with a 4.5 meter wide header there is a mast lift for adjusting to the crop length this cuts the tops and leaves. Under the combine import there is cutterhead mounted from a JD 8000 serie forage harvester. Deep ploughing & Field Leveling | Fendt 939 S4 (2x) & 1050 | Van Werven | diepploegen / Plowing Tractorspotter 2019-08-27 | Deep ploughing and field leveling using two Fendt 939 s4 and a Fendt 1050 from contrator Van Werven in the Flevopolder in the Netherlands.First we see the field ploughed using a Panther deep-plough, witch is capable of ploughing 110cm / 3.6ft deep. The top layer of clay soil is ploughed under and the lighter sand and peat soil is brought to the surface to make the land more suitable for other crops and easier to work on. Picking Green Beans | New Ploeger BP2140e Bean Picker | Laarakker Well | Harvesting Haricot Verts Tractorspotter 2019-08-16 | Picking green beans using a brand new Ploeger BP2140e from Laarakker Groentenverwerking. This company, based in southern part of the Netherlands, is one of the largest producers of vegetables in the country. They operate 6 of these bean pickers from where we see two in action on this field.It was a bit difficult to film in detail how this pickers work, but in sort: the beans are stripped from the stems and go on conveyers inside the machine where four large suction blowers remove the remaining leaves. Lavender Harvest & Oil Distillation | Valensole - Provence - France 🇫🇷| large and small scale Tractorspotter 2019-08-06 | The Plateau de Valensole is one of the most famous nature reserves of France and is located in the department Alpes-de-Haute-Provence the area is famous about it's lavender fields. Early in July, during my holiday, I spotted various harvest operations and got invited by some friendly farmers to film the distillation proces also. (This video is part 1 of 3)Merci aux agriculteurs de Plateau de Valensole!Sort explanation about the Lavender harvesting and distillation proces:The harvest is carried out when the lavender is in full bloom or just after usually at the end of June and throughout july and depending on the weather.The Lavender flowers and stems are cut and brought to the distillery in purpose built trailers. In the distillery a lid is lowered onto the trailer and the trailer sealed. Water is heated and made into steam is fed into the trailer through pipes in the floor.The lavender stems, although containing little oil, create a porous structure within the trailer to allow the steam to circulate. This heats the whole trailer load of around five tonnes of material up to 100 degreesC.At this temperature the steam causes the oil glands to erupt, and the oil evaporates into the steam. This steam with the oil now entrained within it, rises through the trailer and is collected in the funnel shaped lid.The mix of oil and steam is then piped to a condenser. Inside the condenser is a series of steel tubes set out in a honeycomb pattern. The steam / oil mixture passes down through the tubes. Cold rainwater is pumped between the tubes, which condenses the steam back to oil and water.The oil and water mixture is piped into the separator tank. Here the two liquids are allowed to settle out, and the oil forms a layer on the top of the water. A number of these machines have been built and are now being put through their paces.The machine is equipped with a pick-up reel and belt- conveyors to gather and shift grass with a working width from 10m to 12m and with a maximum speed of 20km/h/The CM4240 is powered by an 260 HP FPT engine.
