updated
The latest seasonal guidnace from the CANsips and ECMWF suggest what we have been seeing the last few months: a very active hurricane season is likely.
I go over the new data as we also look at the start of hurricane preparedness week.

Day 1 of our new project to observe and study hail turned up with a zero for us. However, learning from the reasons why we did not capture any hail and what to do differently in the future makes for better chances for success later on.
Also, the MDR temps in the Atlantic are running well above normal and hurricane season is fast approaching. We're not ignoring that looming issue as I touch upon that topic in today's video as well.

As we kick off a brand new project to observe and study hail in the Midwest, I’m proud to announce a new, limited-series podcast dedicated to all things HAIL!
The Hail Project podcast will feature experts in the field of hail research, storm chasers, people who have had major hail impacts affect their lives, NWS forecasters and more.
We kick things off with special guest Dr. Ian Giammanco of IBHS (Institute for Business and Home Safety).
Our own field work to study hail in the Midwest will begin in late April lasting through June. Stay tuned for more information related to this exciting and innovative approach to bringing attention to a severe weather phenomena that few people know much about.
