Dead by Daylight - Running Scared!ThingsWePlay2026-09-21 | Dead by Daylight - Running Scared!Grandma - Scariest Free Horror?!ThingsWePlay2018-04-20 | Mike takes a look at Grandma, a jump scare-filled indie horror game by Uneasy Games available for free. Tasked with finding her lost sister, Maria searches her dead grandmother's house in order to discover clues about what's happened to her. Very quickly she learns that things are not all ok, and never have been, at grandma's house. What starts off as a fairly generic horror game, swiftly up's the ante and delivers genuinely creepy moments accompanied by unrelenting jump scares.
Follow Mike on twitter: @videosaurCode Rebecca (House of Evil) - Angry Woman!ThingsWePlay2018-04-10 | Mike takes a look at indie horror, Code Rebecca (House of Evil) by PicturProd AKA Stéphane Linéros. Code Rebecca is a survival horror game where you play as the title character Rebecca, as she experiences a series of unnerving and unsettling events later in her own home. While short, and in this early state (those seamless transitions say hello), what's on offer still manages to deliver some fairly decent scares. With a little more time, this could turn into something not bad at all.
Follow Mike on twitter: @videosaurUmfend - Experiment gone bad!ThingsWePlay2018-03-27 | Mike takes a look at Umfend, a short indie sci-fi horror game from Aihasto.
"The experiment is finally getting to the last stage, but weird things start to happen. Something doesn't want you to finish it? What is it? Echoes from the past, mere side effects or something sinister? Will you get the work done?"
With an atmosphere reminiscent to the openings of Another World or Half Life, along with some well paced scares and a unique visual style, Umfend ultimately makes quite the impact... a slick, mysterious, slightly confusing, and often scary impact.
Follow Mike on twitter: @videosaurSea of Thieves - Making Friends!ThingsWePlay2018-03-26 | Mike takes a look at Sea of Thieves, the latest open world, survival pirate adventure from Rare and Microsoft on the Xbox One and PC. With gorgeous visuals to feast your eyes on, bundles of treasure to run your hands through, and catchy shanties to sing along with, you'd be easily forgiven in thinking there was more to Sea of Thieves at launch than that of No Man's Sky - another hotly anticipated 'console exclusive'. Only thing is, much like NMS before it... there kind of isn't. But that's not to say there's no fun to be had in Microsoft's big pirate adventure at all - there's plenty! You just gotta find it (and kill a lot of skeletons in the process). And that's exactly what Mike intends to do as he sets sail in search of a bit of good old fashioned ocean-friendship.
Follow Mike on twitter: @videosaurThe Beast Inside - Uninvited Guest!ThingsWePlay2018-03-15 | Mike takes a look at the second half of the Kickstarter Demo for The Beast Inside, an upcoming horror game from the team over at PlayWay. Promising a gripping new twist on thriller and survival horror genres, The Beast Inside is an ambitious project aiming for near photo-realistic graphics as it sets out to tell a multi-layered story about cryptanalyst discovering a hundred-year-old murder-mystery that not only remains unresolved, but also puts his very life at risk. If the demo is anything to go by, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Follow Mike on twitter: @videosaurEmily Wants To Play Too - Pickle Party!ThingsWePlay2017-12-10 | Mike takes an overdue look at Emily Wants To Play Too, the jump scare filled sequel to 2015's Emily Wants To Play. Emily Wants to Play Too is a survival horror game about a sandwich delivery guy that gets locked inside an evidence processing and storage office building by living dolls. The dolls have "work" to do here and are gathering new friends. They don't want to be disturbed... and you've disturbed them. The Demo acts as something of a prologue to these events, seeing you waking up the day after a hectic party at your house and attempting to get ready for a days work, only... you may have a few unwanted guests. With randomised events and some very creepy happenings, the demo alone has a ton of replay value, and enough scares to stop you sleeping for a week.

After waking from a particularly bad nightmare, Jonathan finds himself in a seedy prison cell with no clue how he got there. Surely he's still dreaming? A eerily familiar dream, but a dream none the less. However, if the voice coming from the old radio is to be believed, things may not be as straight forward as they appear - and escaping the prison, not quite as simple as just waking up.

Roughly translated that means it's dark, and things are going to suddenly come out of nowhere to get you. And they do. Devil in the Pines is a simple, brutal, and unforgiving horror game that may very well be hiding more beneath the surface than it first appears, for those willing to take the challenge.

Whilst never intended to be made into an actual lets play video, and instead acting as a test for the Playstation 4's game capture facilities using the PSVR built in microphone, the results aren't half bad - and so, you're seeing them now. Just bear in mind this as recorded unplanned and unrehearsed, on the fly during the small hours of the night and is presented here largely unedited.
Follow Mike on twitter: @videosaurPrecipice - Around the house!ThingsWePlay2017-09-23 | Mike takes a look at Precipice, a P.T. inspired horror game from France that was somehow overlooked when released a few months ago. Following a similar set up to the Silent Hills demo P.T., Precipice is a slick and well put together homage to the now infamous PS4 demo. And although at present it may be a little light on any real 'puzzle elements', it's gorgeous visuals, incredible attention to detail and superb pacing mean you'll be hard pressed to find a better P.T.-like experience outside of the original (that is, presumably until the troubled Alison Road comes out). If you're a fan of this type of thing, and haven't yet checked out Precipice amongst the sea of other clones, then this is certainly worth your time.
Note: The game is french in origin, and as a result designed for use with an AZERTY keyboard. QWERTY users will need to change their keyboard language settings to French in order to use WASD correctly.

The game describes itself as a first-person psychological horror of seeking satisfaction on the border of two intertwining worlds. An intriguing plot with erotic and occult themes (very familiar to anyone who's watched Stanley Kubrick's 'Eyes Wide Shut') guides the player's character through the Yelverton's victorian mansion and a perverse land inspired with Lovecraft's works and paintings of Zdzisław Beksiński. Basically, a little bit scary, a little bit naughty, but mighty impressive stuff so far.

The story is described as rich of unpredictable plot-twists, but touching at the same time - with psychology playing a huge role within the game: heroes and enemies are atypical and the line between good and evil is blurred. The development of the game is designed to be similar to that of film narration, where the player perfectly identifies himself with the character - and Mike can 'film noir' it out to his heart's content. This is the story of a missing child...

It's becoming something of a trend now, for Landfall Games to put out a wacky public prototype on April 1st. Last year we had the excellent Super Truck, a SUPERHOT inspired game mode for Clustertruck (that actually ended up in the final game) and this year, we've TABZ. In a light-hearted email stating Landfall Games had cancelled the forthcoming Totally Accurate Battle Simulator following market research informing them that what people really want is first person survival games, the company has done just that. Turning resources for TABS into assets for TABZ.
As to be expected, they've once again taken the joke much further than they needed to, creating something genuinely a bit special. Featuring 10 person multiplayer servers, a massive open world island, a ton of different guns, a chat system, and more procedural first person wobbly physics than practical, here's an open world survival game that doesn't attempt to hide it's flaws... it runs with them.

So Polterheist sees you, playing as a thief (with a bad cough), sneaking into someone's house in the middle of the night with a shopping list of desirable items ranging from laptops to projectors and cameras to 'collect'. The only problem is... the house is haunted. Haunted by one of the most aggressively unfair ghost security guards imaginable. It's a great idea for a game, with a name fit for an Eddie Murphy comedy where he plays 6 different characters all at once - and executed just a well. It's worth remembering this isn't in Early Access guys. This is it.

But damn, it's got just enough depth, active players and weirdness to make it genuinely worth playing, and as a result i'm having a blast.
Anyways, this is just a little thing i've been working on. It's not finished. It's not polished. But consider it something of a teaser, and a test to see if you'd like to see this spun out into something more. Developed by a team of 7 Supinfogame students during one year as a graduation project, Feral is currently in a very early state, however there's plenty to sink your teeth into (snigger) as you use stealth, and all your senses to stalk the unsuspecting wildlife - and after each succesful hunt you’ll be able to return to your cave, unlock new skills and abilities, and become even more of a badass feline beast hunter.
