Naturally I cut them, about 4dB at first. But I kept checking the mix on my smartphone and hearing them constantly, so by the end I cut about 10dB with different EQs, DSEQ3 (great Soothe alternative btw) and was still hearing them. Then I put on some reference tracks and... at this point I heard the wistles in them as well, so I added some of the 3.6kHz back and the guitar tone improved massively.Moral of the story? Don't go too far cutting wistles.
