I Bought A Nokia N810 Acceptance Device | Lets Take A Look! Techformative 2024-04-01 | This is the 2008 Nokia N810, an internet tablet running a version of Linux called Maemo OS aka Internet Tablet OS 2008 Edition. I got this one off eBay for really cheap and it immediately stood out as being odd. With a coaxial diagnostics port at the back, weird stickers and a few other details that make me think its some sort of network acceptance device.The Nokia N810 was announced in 2007 and released in 2008 as a Linux based internet tablet, mainly focused on entertainment and business. It did not have any calling features and lacked a sim card slot. It has a simple front facing vga camera for video calling and a slide out keyboard with a kickstand for ease of use. It also has wifi and bluetooth with a bunch of other options at the time. It is also capable of USB OTG or USB On The Go which is quite impressive for such an older device. It is not as popular as other Nokia's when it comes to be a collectors item but good working ones with all their parts are hard to come by. This one was cheap and being an acceptance unit for the Brazilian network Anatel, I had to get it and add it to my collection. Motorola Yuva A810 (2008) | Strange Phones | Wasted Space? Techformative 2024-02-07 | In this strange phones playlist video, I showcase the strange and ultra rare Motorola YUVA A810 from 2008. A very rare and illusive phone which is almost unheard of in the West. I found this one on eBay for a mere $15. The Motorola A810 was a phone that I always wanted since I was a kid cause I thought it looked cool and unique. It is extremely rare and from the Chinese and Indian market. Sold as a budget Motorola Phone, it was not very popular which adds to its rarity. So when I saw this one on eBay I jumped on it as its the first time I've seen it for sale ever. Its just as rare as a Nokia N92 but of course, not as prestigious. It runs a unique proprietary Linux Mobile operating system called MotoMagX which I haven't heard of in years and has a joystick for navigation, as well as a resistive touch screen. It also has a stylus and a few other weird details which you would not usually find on such a phone. Being a feature phone and not a full on smartphone, it has smartphone features but is still a basic phone on the grand scale of things. Its well designed for single hand use but also makes no sense in some ways such as the wasted space at the front, hence the title of this video. It also runs Symbian UIQ, has the same processor, the same display, same form factor, scroll wheel and back button, identical design but was considerably more rare and expensive. Differences include a more powerful speaker, recessed keyboard with a traditional triple press selection as opposed to the M600i's unusual double press keyboard. It also had a whopping 4gb of internal storage which was huge for 2006 and did not have a M2 expansion slot like the M600i did. Being a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone, it had the aesthetics and quirks of a music oriented device and had many software differences as well. I Bought The Worlds First 3D Phone! | Sharp SH251iS Techformative 2023-12-18 | After years of waiting I have finally acquired what is considered to be the very first phone with a 3D display. The 2002 Sharp SH251is.The SH251is like many other cool Japan only phones was launched 21 years ago with a feature like no other, a 3D display. This technology is old school 3D, using a 3D Parallax Barrier instead of more modern designs. Its is still surprisingly good and still works fine after all the years. Sharp does not get enough credit for the technology they developed years ago which paved the way for modern phone displays. They were also the company to design the worlds first borderless smartphone the Sharp Aquos Crystal and many of the original 3D displays in phones were designed and built by Sharp. Sharp does not hold a significant presence in the modern smartphone market but their technology definitely does!Being the worlds first 3D phone, it is a very basic flip phone, very unassuming from afar and apart from its unusual display, does not have any other outstanding features. I had to import this from Japan as it was only released in Japan on the NTT Docomo network. It is in surprisingly good shape and works just fine apart from having a weak battery which is expected at this age. This phone is extremely rare and generally gets overlooked as the 3D boom in the 2010's and google search results usually credits the HTC Evo 3D as the worlds first 3D phone which is not even close to being accurate. There were heaps of Japanese and Korean market only devices from the early 2000's which had 3D displays and later, even 3D camera's which are extremely hard to find anymore.This video will be the first of many videos that will cover this phone. I will first have to learn to navigate this phone efficiently in Japanese as there is no changing the language in it. Modern technology is usually built to fail so that companies can sell more. However, a few years back things were not designed this way and instead, were quite the opposite. Planned obsolescence is somewhat of a new tactic.The Nokia N91 was a Symbian smartphone released in 2005 as a part of the trio of first Nokia N series phones. The original 3 Nokia N-Series Phones included the Photography focused Nokia N90 which is a hybrid swivel/flip phone which kinda looks like an older style video camera in full photo mode, the cheapest of the lost, the all rounded Nokia N70 and the multimedia powerhouse that is the Nokia N91. The Nokia N91 was a premium smartphone by every sense of the word. It was packed with many new features and was everybody's dream phone at the time. The Nokia N91 features a gorgeous stainless steel and plastic design and is built like a tank. It has a dedicated music control set up at the front, a well build slider mechanism, high quality tactile buttons and just the best of the best that Nokia had to offer in 2005. It also was one of the first and only handful of phones to feature an actual micro hard drive inside and also a dual CPU set up. The Nokia N91 runs the Nokia Symbian OS, namely Symbian 9.1 Series 60 3rd edition and also packs loads of software features which can be expanded on using the Nokia store and many more. The Nokia N91 is also known for being one of the first and only phones to ever have an actual micro hard drive inside it. The Nokia N91 Hard Drive was a Gigabyte Microdrive and came in 2 sizes, 4gb and 8gb and was overkill in terms of storage for 2005. The N91 also had another weird thing to it and that is it had 2 separate processors by Texas instruments, basically a dual processor set up. The Nokia N91-1 also came as the Nokia N91-2 which was the 8gb variant and a Chinese manufactured no wifi and 2g only variant called the Nokia N91-5. The Nokia N91 runs the Nokia Symbian OS, namely Symbian 9.1 Series 60 3rd edition and also packs loads of software features which can be expanded on using the Nokia store and many more. The N91 also had an amazing battery life compared to other multimedia phones at the time, despite it having an actual hard drive. I Bought The Cheapest Brand New Nokia N8 On eBay | Nokia N8 2023 Techformative 2023-11-03 | I found this brand new Nokia N8 swap device on eBay for a mere $17 total. This makes it the cheapest brand new Nokia N8 online. This N8 being a swap device means it has no battery and no battery cover as well. These were used in Nokia stores for warranty swaps and other device swap needs. They ship from the factory in a cardboard box with a matching IMEI sticker as well. I will get a battery door and battery retainer soon!The Nokia N8 was released in 2010 as a direct competitor to the iPhone 4 and was involved with a leak sandal before its launch. A Russian website managed to get its hands on a prototype Nokia N8 and review it before launch. I also own a Nokia N8 Prototype device that is very different from the final model. These Aukey Truly wireless earbuds are sort of a direct successor to last years Aukey EP-T21 earbuds which I have been using for a while now. The T-21's were a solid pair of budget truly wireless earbuds with a great battery life and build quality. And I am hoping that the T31's deliver even better results.The Aukey EP-T31 budget earbuds sport an all new case design, USB-C, 30 hours of playback, wireless charging and many new features usually found in higher end earbuds, all in a new more compact form factor as well.I do love a good pair of cheap earbuds but Aukey has taken a step above the rest in offering a great pair for cheap. Of course there are cut corners such as bad cheap packaging, bad touch controls and ultra simple design but for the price that these go for, you really cannot complain. Is Aukey a good brand? of course! I have used the T-21's for over a year now and they are great. In today's video, the cheapest Nokia 6790 Surge that I found on eBay. These phones usually go for above $100 online so this is definitely a deal. The Nokia 6790 Surge or the Nokia 6760 Slide were released in 2009 as carrier only devices in the US. They are pretty rare and feature an unusual asymmetrical design. They are quite similar and the only difference being that the 6760 Slide has a slightly better camera than the 6790 Surge which also was on AT&T only. They both are quite tiny and fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. It ran Nokia Symbian S60 3.2 and was mainly focused on texting and social media. The Nokia C110 is the direct successor to 2022 Nokia C100 which was similarly priced and was quite a problematic phone. The Nokia C110 intends to improve upon its predecessor's issues with an all new design and set of features. The Nokia C110 being a budget Android phone, is marketed as having an amazing battery life and highlighted for being the cheapest Android 12 phone in 2023. The C110 has some basic specs such as a Mediatek processor, 3gb of ram, expandable memory with 32gb on board memory, a 720p display and many more. The Nokia C110 unlike its predecessor, uses a tear drop style camera and has an almost bezel less display. The Nokia C110, originally retailing for $49.99 is a perfect example of an ultra budget device where cost has been but not to a point where it is unusable. The charger is a mere 5W, the box is extremely basic, its loaded it auto downloads paid for by app developers and its overall what'd you expect from a phone that costs as much as a decent dinner out. The Nokia C100 has gained a bad reputation for being a really slow android phone and having many issues regarding performance, but the C110 has had better reviews over the months since it was released and is definitely an upgrade over last years Nokia C100. This Nokia C7 has some differences from a standard retail model as someone has turned on the refresh rate on the screen, its missing some standard apps and has some weird apps installed on it. It has a Rom Patcher and a deep file browser for example. A sleek and professional looking device released on the 11th of October 2010, the Nokia C7 is just another great example of what Nokia once was capable of. Packing in a gorgeous Amoled display, Symbian^3 and eventually Symbian Belle, an 8mp camera that shot amazing photo and video, A front camera, GPS, battery life to last a day and beyond plus many more. All in the form of one of the best looking phones from around 2010. The Nokia C7 is the first ever smartphone to ship with an NFC chip which gave it NFC capabilities after a software update. It was also released on the T-Mobile network as the Nokia C7 Astound and eventually as the rare, ultra luxury Nokia ORO which is a C7 in 18 carat gold plating, Sapphire Crystal elements and leather. Being from the C-Series, the C7 was not a very high end phone, but was definitely the highest end that the C-Series had to offer. I Bought 4 Nokia C7s For Dirt Cheap | Lets See If They Work Techformative 2023-07-31 | In this video we take a closer look at these 4 Nokia C7-00's that I got off eBay for a mere $25 ish. They were listed as untested and seem to be in great shape. The Nokia C7 or Nokia C7-00 was released in 2010 as a upper mid range smartphone. This thing ran Nokia Symbian^3 and was upgradable to Nokia Belle OS in 2012. It has a gorgeous Nokia AMOLED display, a frame built of high quality metal and plastic and was packed with features for its time. The Nokia C7 was also released as the C7 Astound and of course the extremely expensive and rare Nokia C7 ORO or Nokia ORO which was gold plated with leather and sapphire crystal. The C7 Runs on a single core ARM11 processor, has a capacitive touchscreen, 8gb of ram and has many other high end features expected from a Nokia phone at the time. This pc is to replace my ageing intel lga 1150, i7-4770k, ddr3 system. The specs on this PC are as follows. Fractal North CaseGigabyte Aorus B650 Eite AX boardAMD Ryzen 9 7900XAMD Radeon VII gpu32gb 6000mhz gskill Z5 ram with AMD EXPOCooler Master ML240 V2 AIO4tb hdd Western Digital storage1tb nvme samsung 980 Pro M.2 ssdCorsair RM750x 750w psu.I will be adding a few more changes as time goes by and this iteration is somewhat temporary. The entire build cost me around $1400 in total so its around a $1400 pc build. But, accounting for the used retail price of a AMD RADEON Vii, the build should be around a $1600 pc build. The Fractal North ATX case is the charcoal black model with a walnut front panel and tinted tempered glass side. This is in no way a budget pc build but it is definitely a mid range pc build as most of the components used in this fall into that category. The RGB is provided by the G skill ram and the Cooler Master AIO, I will eventually put different fans on but for now these should work.This pc should be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p widescreen at 60fps just fine and all other major titles as well. Unknown Nokia Prototype | Nostalgic Ringtones | Nokia Prototype Ringtones Techformative 2023-04-24 | This is my Nostalgic Ringtones video on the Unknown Nokia Prototype phone. This is my first special video on the Nostalgic ringtones playlist featuring a rare prototype phone or unreleased phone. I have covered this phone in a full retro style review video which you can find below!***** Full retro style review - youtu.be/qdOHu5oTst4The Phone at first glance is easily identifiable as a Nokia Asha ish device or something on the lines of a Nokia 700, Nokia 500 or Nokia 600 prototype. The only issue with this is that it seems too premium to be an asha but also does not run Nokia Symbian and have a home button to be akin to a Symbian. My first theory is that thing is a Nokia Asha 400 or something on the lines of an Asha phone or the US market. It would have been called something else In the US tho. Some have suggested that this thing could be a part of the long cancelled pseudo successor line up to the Asha series, called the Nokia Meltemi. The only issue with this being a Nokia Meltemi prototype is that its design characteristics don't line up. It has a strange simulated permanent wallpapers that this thing has which resemble no other Nokia OS ever seen before. It looks like a hybrid between Asha Series 40, Meltemi and Nokia Symbian. But in reality it could be an entirely unreleased Prototype Operating system. It could be a Nokia XpressMusic phone as it has two extremely loud and clear stereo speakers.It also has C0 and C0-00 marked on its body, identifies as a Nokia 6700 Classic in its info section and also when on Bluetooth. The 6700 identification most likely mean this thing has the base specs of a Nokia 6700 Classic from 2009. Motorola MILESTONE XT720 (2010) | Strange Phones | First Android With A Xenon Flash Techformative 2023-04-14 | This is my strange phones playlist video of the extremely rare Motorola Milestone XT720, also called the Motorola MOTOROI XT720 or Motorola MOTOROI XT711. I have been waiting for years to get my hands on this super rare phone and I finally have 2 of them which I can now cover in a series of videos.The Motorola XT720 is an oddball of a phone that was released around June of 2010 after being announced as the XT710 Motoroi in early Jan of 2010 for the US and Asian markets. It was largely unknown to the general public and only went on sale on a few network carriers such as Cincinnati Bell. Its strange Asymmetrical shape is definitely and eye catcher and is what initially drew me to this phone. The strange shape has to do with the fact that this was marketed as a camera focused phone. Its also the worlds first Android phone with a Xenon flash and the first Motorola Android phone with a Xenon flash. Despite having the title of first Android with a Xenon flash, it is barely ever mentioned in any forums or modern tech discussions about older android phones. Apart from all that, it is a well constructed Android phone with a unique looking back, dedicated camera function cycle button, highly reflective front bezels and many other features. Motorola Z6C PROTOTYPE | Rare Engineering Sample | Retro Review Techformative 2023-03-31 | This is my vintage tech review of a Prototype Motorola Z6C which I found with a bunch of other prototype phones on eBay. This device is a Verizon network tester and has some differences when compared to the final model. It has all sorts of pre production markings on it and a few differences from the final release model. Being a prototype phone, it is extremely rare and seems to be a phone manufactured while its FCC status was pending.The Motorola Z6C was officially released in December of 2007. The phone was meant to be a watered down version of the Music oriented Motorola Rokr Z6 which was an expensive high end phone. The Z6C was cut down in many ways, such as the OS which is a generic Motorola OS for Verizon phones. It also lacked a flash, had a slightly inferior camera, no audio enhancements and so on. It has a rare feature among flip phones which is a spring loaded flip mechanism where at the press of a button, the display opens like a switchblade. This is honestly my favorite feature on this phone and definitely sets it apart. The Motorola NEXTEL i890 is a very rare phone that never really sold much back in the day and is largely unknown. The final release version of the IDEN i890 was a lower end flip phone from 2009, that had a basic display, basic 2mp camera etc and nothing much to set it apart in terms of basic specs. However it has a really good battery life and a solid build quality.This particular phone is a pre release prototype phone which has most of all the stuff you'd find in the final release model except the fact that it has Motorola prototype markings and of course, it lacks and OS and instead runs a hardware testing program that registers physical inputs such as the clamshell opening and button inputs. Sony Xperia Z Ultra (2013) | Strange Phones | Sonys Largest Phone Ever | Phablet King Techformative 2023-02-19 | This is my strange phone's playlist video of what is considered to be the worlds first true phablet, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The Xperia Z Ultra was released in July of 2013 and was the much larger, slimmer and more expensive version of the legendary Sony Xperia Z. The Sony Xperia Z is widely considered to be the phone that single handedly revolutionized the water resistant smartphone, even though it wasn't the first water resistant smartphone or first water resistant phone at all.The Xperia Z Ultra is a huge phablet device that sports a full HD Sony Bravia 1080p display, a huge 3080mAh battery for its time, a metal body, a super slim design and a great Sony Camera. The Xperia Z Ultra is the first phone with a touchscreen capable of being used with standard pens and pencils. its also the largest phone that Sony ever built even to this day. Its massive size and amazing design made it stand out among other devices at the time. It also, more importantly was considered as the worlds first true phablet device. It was released a few months before the Nokia Lumia 1520 which is also a huge phablet device but still much smaller than the Z Ultra. The Xperia Z Ultra has a somewhat toned down 8mp camera as opposed to the 13mp camera on the Sony Xperia Z and lacks a flash as well. The camera is still very good though and this slight downgrade is cancelled out by the other upgrades such as a bigger battery, better Sony Bravia Display, aluminum body and sleeker design. It was also marketed as the worlds slimmest full HD smartphone when released and is easily one of the best reviewed phones of all time. They are somewhat rare and go for really high prices online when in good shape. Cheaper ones could be had with damaged displays and other issues. ✅Unknown Nokia Prototype🔥 #shorts Techformative 2023-02-14 | This is my 74th #Shorts video showcasing my unknown Nokia prototype phone. ***** Full analysis review on this phone - youtu.be/qdOHu5oTst4 ***** I am completely dumbfounded as to what this thing actually is and so is everyone I asked. Theories range from it being a US release Nokia Asha Device such as a possible Asha 400, to a part of a cancelled line up of Nokia phones called the Nokia Meltemi line up. To a Nokia test bed with a confusing mix of markings and specs.It cost me $265 off eBay. The Phone at first glance is easily identifiable as a Nokia Asha ish device or something on the lines of a Nokia 700, Nokia 500 or Nokia 600 prototype. The only issue with this is that it seems too premium to be an asha but also does not run Nokia Symbian and have a home button to be akin to a Symbian. My first theory is that thing is a Nokia Asha 400 or something on the lines of an Asha phone or the US market. It would have been called something else In the US tho. Some have suggested that this thing could be a part of the long cancelled pseudo successor line up to the Asha series, called the Nokia Meltemi. The only issue with this being a Nokia Meltemi prototype is that its design characteristics don't line up. It has a strange simulated permanent wallpapers that this thing has which resemble no other Nokia OS ever seen before. It looks like a hybrid between Asha Series 40, Meltemi and Nokia Symbian. But in reality it could be an entirely unreleased Prototype Operating system. It could be a Nokia XpressMusic phone as it has two extremely loud and clear stereo speakers.It also has C0 and C0-00 marked on its body, identifies as a Nokia 6700 Classic in its info section and also when on Bluetooth. The 6700 identification most likely mean this thing has the base specs of a Nokia 6700 Classic from 2009. The Nokia N96 was a high end smartphone released by Nokia in 2008. As the name suggests, its from Nokia's high end Nokia N-Series of phones. The N-series was known for its camera's, multimedia, battery life and so on.The Nokia N96 is the direct successor to the Nokia N95 and Nokia N95 8GB. The Nokia N96 Runs Nokia Symbian Series 60 and has all the amazing features of an N-Series phone such as a great Nokia Camera, long battery life, Loads of multimedia features, many hardware buttons for multimedia and so on. The N96, like its predecessors has a dual slide design, where when slid up, it reveals the keyboard and when slid down reveals the multimedia controls for music. It is usually very expensive and is a highly sought after collectors item as it is an extremely rare phone. It obviously predates app stores and downloadable apps and has Nokia's classic interface. Nokia 7710 (2004) | Strange Phones | Landscape King Techformative 2023-01-16 | Welcome to another video in my Strange Phones playlist. In this series of videos, I analyze a specific strange design choice or feature on a phone and give you my reasoning as to why such an engineering decision was made.In this episode, we focus on the 2004 Nokia 7710 which is a phone with a strange Taco style design. The Nokia 7710 is known for being the first Nokia touchscreen phone or first Nokia phone with a touchscreen. First and only Nokia with Symbian Series 90 interface atop Symbian OS v7.0s and also the first Nokia with a 2:1 aspect ratio display. Its strange design is focused on landscape use with your thumbs. It can also be used in portrait mode but landscape mode is what its mainly built for. Its really good battery life, large display, extended business functions and apps pre loaded etc, make it a really versatile device for business and multimedia consumption. In Italy, It was sold along with a satellite receiver and was used as the first satellite navigation system on a touch screen mobile phone in the world. Its from a time when Nokia was experimenting with weird designs just like the Nokia N-GAGE, Nokia 3300, Nokia 3300b and so on. It is usually very expensive and is a highly sought after collectors item as it is an extremely rare phone. It obviously predates app stores and downloadable apps and has Nokia's classic interface. Its also considered as a rare collectors item at this age and since I am phone collector with a massive phone collection, having this phone was a must. I will do a Nokia 7710 unboxing but this will definitely not count as a Nokia 7710 review. I will also do a Using the Nokia 7710 in 2022 video or a Nokia 7710 2023 or Nokia in 2023. This phone in prototype form was featured in the 2008 Batman : The Dark Knight movie and in multiple music videos like Flo Rida's Right Round, Pitbull's Shut It Down and Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship to name a few. I am no stranger to this phone as I used one as my main daily driver from 2008-2010. I still have that phone and will feature it on this channel someday! The Nokia 5600 Navigation edition is a gps navigation focused version of the 5800 Xpressmusic and shipped with car accessories in the box and is distinguishable by its chrome rim. I Bought 8 Phones & Tablets For $60 | Lets See If They Work! Techformative 2022-12-08 | This lot includes 4 phones, 3 tablets and a keyboard of a laptop. It includes An iPhone XR, Samsung Phones, LG Phones, SKy Devices Tablet, an RCA Tablet and so on.Since each device was around $7.5 each, this makes it one of the best value lots I have bought. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra being the most valuable then the iPhone XR and the LG G7 ThinQ. The tablets are not worth much but the RCA tablet seems quite nice if it works. It also includes a kids tablet and a SKY Devices Elite T8 tablet which is also decent.In future repair videos I will revisit each and every one of these phones and try and repair the broken ones. The broken phones or tablets that are not worth fixing will be left as is.
