Gambia December 2020 roads rubbish and chat Colin Tonkasdad 2021-05-14 | well hello again, this is video of Gambia and some of the roads, once you get off the main tarmac roads there is not much but soil ! with loads of erosion. i chat about Brufut and sadly its just not as good as the first time , is it ever ? it went downhill from here. Medard then used my camera for a little walk to the beach i have included this footage , sadly in Gambia litter and its collection is very poor. most of litter is collected by donkey and cart with householders who use the service paying a few pence to use the service weekly less than a pound... this is Gambia . still a great place but it does need more government support, and tourism !!! cheers

Gambia 2020/1 pool clean two Colin Tonkasdad 2021-04-01 | brufut village apartments ! sadly pool is just not clean so it got clean for the big event ! i did help and enjoyed doing something. sadly the pool only lasted around 10 days and fell into an unclean state ..and was never used again while i was there.

Moreton, caravan and motorhome site Dorchester Colin Tonkasdad 2020-11-01 | well a trip to a camp site ! as i am not a member it cost me £60 more the trip for staying 5 nights was £123 .. a little costly but i did use my electric hook up !! yes i did the first time ever . a nice site plenty of little spaces to park up in a little wet but we were on a hard stand. train station 5 minutes away if you want to travel to Weymouth or Poole. nice to meet up with friends for a few days

Colin Tonkasdad 2020-08-26 | well back to a bit of work on the garden, have been a little swamped with the work and sadly not feeling the need to post videos. weeds are the biggest problem as this garden has not been dug for about 15 to 20 years so weeds are going crazy, i try to keep on top of them ...but a few days and they are back. have done some pickled beetroot and that was good.. happy days

Gambia, Tanji fish market and cooking pt1dec 2019 Colin Tonkasdad 2020-05-24 | well hello all decided i will put the video up ! and do hope people will read this message. while in Gambia i learnt a lot and things changed for me. this cooking was about 2 hours or more in the making , everything is fresh and bought on the day . most Gambians can not afford this fish ! and of course Rose and her sister had gas to cook on, most people cook on charcoal ! gas is to costly . Rose still cooks of course and as said most meals are a few hours to cook. so big part of a days work , washing is similar with bowls on the floor and of course not a tap in the house ! i have seen a few videos about Gambia and if you have money !! it can give a false impression the Gambians i have met are all hard working and honest . most Gambians shop at the markets not supermarkets ! they are for tourists ! or wealthy Gambians. so much i could say but they need tourists as not a lot of work in Gambia.... cheers and please feel free to comment

Colin Tonkasdad 2020-04-12 | well a few major jobs on betty, remove the front roof vent and fix leak, this was leaking on my bedding but was not noticed for sometime. the weather has been nice the last week so as lockdown still in place time to start. also had a leak on the side window this was another issue that has been leaking for sometime it goes between the cavity and to the floor wetting the carpet. i hope i have explained how this went.. cheers all keep well.

Colin Tonkasdad 2020-03-28 | well i try to work out the no dig system and raised bed issues, if you have the money then fine, but i can not see the point in spending hundreds of pounds to grow a bit of veg !! just easier to go to a farmers market.as for driving 100 miles to an allotment then i question the wisdom in that ? im just an old guy who digs ! it works and i have spent only on repairs to greenhouse and seed buying . if no dig suits you fine ... if raised beds are used fine i see the use in them as well but some i have seen have 3 foot and more wide paths you loose a lot of ground .. each to there own... always say there is no right or wrong just your way !!! cheers all keep safe .

Gambia, snakes and reptiles, Colin Tonkasdad 2020-02-27 | a great place to visit if a little sparce. the lady was very informative and since a fire sadly caused some damage and did kill some specimens. this could do with more support ! and yes they charge a little extra for tourists ! .. but you could have a sit down at the end and the peanut brittle was a joy ! the first time i had a snake around my neck that was a reptile ........cheers
