CATO - Council of Australian Tour OperatorsThere has been a lot of debate recently on why travel credits are being issued rather than refunds and when refunds are being issued why they are taking so long to be processed.
The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) represents the land supply sector of the Australian travel agencies. Our members, who include tour operators, wholesalers and destination experts, create, supply and deliver the travel products sold online and through travel agencies. Our members, many of them Australian based family companies, help your holiday dreams come to life.
COVID-19 has clipped all our wings and has devastated the global travel and tourism industry. With this has come certain challenges for both consumers and the industry.
In this video CATO chair Dennis Bunnik provides the answers as to why travel credits are being offered rather than refunds and when refunds are being issued why they are taking so long to be processed. Today Show 23 July 2021CATO - Council of Australian Tour Operators2021-07-23 | Intrepid Group Managing Director Asia-Pacific and CATO Board Member Brett Mitchell appeared on Channel 9's Today Show to call for increased government leadership to help Australia recover from the COVID crisis.
"A plan without dates and measurable outcomes is not a plan.
"We need strong leadership, clear timelines and a sense of urgency.
We need vaccines and clearer messaging around them.
We need more than words, we need concrete actions.
Other countries are finding a pathway out and Australia needs to do the same.
We are part of a global community and to beat this virus we need to be doing more to help our neighbours and less fortunate countries."
