I hope everyone has had a nice week! I have one last song this weekend as a little present. I’ve seen a lot of people self doubting recently, which starts such an unhealthy pattern of behaviors. If you don’t believe you can do something, you’ll probably never be able, even if you actually can. So I picked a song that is pretty difficult for me, and worked really hard on it. I spent up to 3 hours recording certain small lines of this, because I just wasn’t satisfied with my ability to sing certain lines. Long story short, much of this song occurs where the break (everyone has one) in my voice occurs, it has always been a challenge to hit a lot of these notes without horrible voice cracking. My goal was to try and hit them, not only in tune but with tone and emotion. I really didn’t get them to where I wanted tone wise, but I tried my best with what I can do right now. In the end, I tried my hardest. It is cruel to expect yourself to instantly become better at something, not matter what it is. I will improve someday, and eventually be able to have a precise, on the dot tone and be 100% on pitch. But for now, I still needed to try so I can get to that point in my life. You can't just skip the journey. If you guys want to try something, but think you’re not skilled enough to get it perfect, do it anyways. Give yourself the chance to get better by practicing. I was horrible at singing when I first started too, but I didn’t give up. Even if I am not the best now, I feel like I’ve gotten somewhere and I’m going to keep trying as hard as possible until the end. My covers are not meant to be perfect, nor can they be, that is not the point. I want to brighten people's days with music, and share how I am feeling with the world. Besides, it is fun as heck making them lol. I hope I helped someone with this, good luck and don’t give up everyone!
