Maryland Midland UBST 5/21/21 Maryland Area Railfan 2021-11-25 | Yes, it’s the Maryland Midland stone train again! I’d practically call this train my staple because I see and film it more than any other. I try to make it fun by seeing how many different angles and locations I can get. Enjoy this vantage point down a straight stretch in the Wakefield Valley, then as the train enters downtown Westminster.Channel Update: I know I haven’t posted much of anything for months and am now only posting a few videos. I have been spending my time elsewhere and haven’t put much into editing videos. However, I have continued to spend a lot of free time railfanning and recording. YRC 1600 Leads Maryland Midland Dirt Train Maryland Area Railfan 2021-04-01 | On 5/15/20 I arrived at Union Bridge just after sunrise to be greeted by Ex. York Rail 1600, this would be one of the few times the 1600 led the UBWT. The UBWT "Dirt Train" operated for about six months transporting dirt for a county project. We chase the train on its journey to Westminster where it will be loaded and back to New Windsor where it will be unloaded. Stay tuned for footage of the work sites and other runs of this train. The train is crossing the Susquehanna river from Perryville to Havre De Grace on its way to the ports of Baltimore, MD.I am starting to enhance my drone flying skills and this is my best work so far. Maryland Midland 4-Bay Hoppers Make their Last Run on the UBST Maryland Area Railfan 2021-02-22 | On 12/28/20 the Maryland Midland ran its last UBST with the old 4-bay hoppers. These hoppers are well over 50 years old and have been completely replaced by newer ones. They will soon be sent for scrap on site in Union Bridge. In this video you will see the train at 7 locations on its route to Union Bridge where it will set off the hoppers.
CSX W763 Chase with New Hoppers & Snow Maryland Area Railfan 2021-01-30 | On 12/21/20 I chased the rock runner up the Hanover Subdivision from Boring, MD to Hanover, PA. This train winds through some rustic snow covered scenery. The leader AC44CW #595 has a rarity for its kind, a K5LLA horn, not many CSX locomotives have this horn. The traditional CSX stone hoppers were recently replaced by newer style stone hoppers and this is the first video documentary of them here. Enjoy!

The UBST Halloween Special: Ditchlight Out & Flickering Numberboard Maryland Area Railfan 2020-11-01 | On a cool October 2020 night, Maryland Midland’s UBST heads east as we chase it from New Midway to downtown Westminster. Wearing the appropriate orange and black, the lead SD40M-2 had a few minor issues and a “spooky” fouled K5LA horn. I figured this was the perfect video for Halloween this year. Canadian National SD70M-2s Power Q216 in Maryland Maryland Area Railfan 2020-10-26 | On 4/25/19 CSX Q216 was powered by a CN SD70M-2 at each end. This was a rare occurrence and I don’t believe we have had foreign power DPU’d here since. In this video you see the train of loaded automobiles reaching the summit of the Old Main Line grade in Mount Airy, MD and second as it crosses Rt. 97 on its way down grade to Baltimore. With the horn happy engineer blowing his perfect P5 horn. Enjoy!

Amtrak GP15s Meet on the NEC at Halethorpe Maryland Area Railfan 2020-08-26 | I went to Halethorpe, MD for about an hour on 8/18/20 and caught a Herzog ballast train and a few others. This area has been undergoing a lot of MOW work this year and notice 2 tracks out of service plus equipment and W sign holders.
Reading & Northern NRFF Chase: Pittston to Tamaqua Maryland Area Railfan 2020-08-20 | On 8/10/20 a few friends and I went up to the Scranton area for the day and then chased the NRFF back south. We see the train arriving into Pittston and then departing Pittston for Reading. Only chased to Tamaqua as the lighting faded quickly.

YRC 1600 Leads its First Night Train on MMID Maryland Area Railfan 2020-06-19 | York Rail 1600 came down to Maryland Midland at the end of last year for some extra horsepower. This was its second run leading out of the yard! The UBTT on 1/9/20. Chased it up to Taneytown and back to Union Bridge. Then after some switching, up to LeHigh. Tried my best with lighting, enjoy!

Chasing the N&W 611 Ferry Move Through Maryland Maryland Area Railfan 2020-05-07 | Filmed on the afternoon of 8/20/19, making a stop in Hagerstown, MD. I chased this famous locomotive's first journey to Strasburg...from WV over the Potomac to MD then into PA. Enjoy the sound of steam whistle blowing on the Norfolk Southern H-Line and Lurgan branch. This also was 611’s first time in the state of Maryland.

Full Chase of the Delmarva Central Seaford Local Maryland Area Railfan 2020-04-19 | Back on 8-27-18 I made my way out to Seaford, DE to catch DCR’s SE-1 train, which usually goes on duty at 9:30am every weekday. This was my first time out railfanning on the eastern shore of Delmarva, and with it also being excellent weather, I decided to chase the entirety of the SE-1’s operations that day! In this long video you will see my chase of them from Seaford up to Bridgeville and back, with all of the switching operations in between. At 33:05 in the video I got over 2 minutes straight of notch 8 switcher pacing action, definitely the highlight of my chase! Hope you all enjoy my longest video yet!

On the morning of 8/10/19 I headed down to Mount Airy, MD to catch K676. Later to hear on the radio it was waiting to get assistance, which turned out to be from the Frederick local D786. Enjoy the sounds of 5 EMDs working hard together on the CSX, just like old times.

WMSR Polar Express Christmas Train 2019 Maryland Area Railfan 2019-12-25 | Coming down the mountain and into the Cumberland station on 12/8/19 with a beautiful K5H horn. This was a week before Western Maryland 450 was painted into the Polar Express scheme, and shows the new crossing signals in operation. The nicely painted Western Maryland 501 was holding up the rear of this return trip from Frostburg. Enjoy, and have a Merry Christmas! :)
NS F-9A #270 Departing Altoona for the Last Time, Feat. 1066 & 4004 Maryland Area Railfan 2019-12-20 | Norfolk Southern recently put all of their F units up for sale. At 1:47am on December 12, 2019 I catch the first of four to leave Altoona, off to its new home on the RBMN. During this operation it was uncoupled from B unit 275 due to their lack of alignment draft gears in the couplers. This means only one may be transported at a time unless on a power move. You will see a few hours of operations from the Rose yard overpass aside from the move of 270. Featuring 10K with 1066 leading, 38Q with 4004 leading, and various switching operations in the yard. The train 10G will pick up the F-9A and take it away from Altoona, PA for one final time.Aside from this video, I started attending college in Altoona this fall. Therefore I have not spent much time editing and uploading videos. I’ve been trying to get back into things recently and you will see more from me. I did catch many great things last summer and have seen a bunch more since being in Altoona. However, this is my first upload of trains around Altoona. I felt I should post this event quickly as for its significance, but many other videos from the Altoona area are to come! Thank you and enjoy! :)
CSX Train Almost Hits Tractor in Orrtanna, PA Maryland Area Railfan 2019-12-16 | On July 3rd, 2019 at 1:18pm. Along the Ex. Western Maryland line, now CSX’s Hanover Subdivision, in rural Pennsylvania. This farmer takes a heavy risk at Silo Road crossing and his quite nice tractor makes it with only 4 seconds to spare. Please be patient at railroad crossings and never try to beat a train! Also, the driver did make eye contact with the train and I, but still proceeded to cause a very close call. This was train D795 from Hanover, PA to Hagerstown, MD.
