Curiosity: I live in Italy, the theoretical voltage of the electricity line is 230 Volts, sometimes (for technical reasons) energy suppliers increase the voltage up to a maximum of 250 Volts. While I was recording this video the voltage was 250 Volts as read by the yellow multimeter.

For this project I decided to make the circuit on a prototyping board, and as box I used a glass jar, which gives it a particular look with a vintage tone given by the amber LED that constantly lights up the base.
Operation controls on the cap of the glass jar:
- ON/OFF/ON Switch - Turns the device on and off in normal or low power mode, the low energy consumption mode is possible thanks to a 180-ohm 1/2-watt resistor placed on the power line.
- ON/ON Switch - used for select internal or external antennas.
- ON/OFF Big Red Button - Used to select one of the two resistances placed in series with the antennas, you can choose between 3M ohm and 1K ohm.
- RCA Female connector - Used to connect a custom-made external antenna.
Operation of the LED display:
🔴Red = Positive charge
🔵Blue = Negative charge
🔴RED + 🔵BLUE at the same time = AC Voltage⚡️

Electrostatics is a branch of physics that studies electric charges at rest.
Since classical times, it has been known that some materials, such as amber, attract lightweight particles after rubbing. The Greek word for amber was thus the source of the word 'electricity'. Electrostatic phenomena arise from the forces that electric charges exert on each other. Such forces are described by Coulomb's law.
There are many examples of electrostatic phenomena, from those as simple as the attraction of plastic wrap to one's hand after it is removed from a package, to the apparently spontaneous explosion of grain silos, the damage of electronic components during manufacturing, and photocopier & laser printer operation. Electrostatics involves the buildup of charge on the surface of objects due to contact with other surfaces. Although charge exchange happens whenever any two surfaces contact and separate, the effects of charge exchange are usually noticed only when at least one of the surfaces has a high resistance to electrical flow, because the charges that transfer are trapped there for a long enough time for their effects to be observed. These charges then remain on the object until they either bleed off to ground, or are quickly neutralized by a discharge. The familiar phenomenon of a static "shock" is caused by the neutralization of charge built up in the body from contact with insulated surfaces.
- Electric field:
The electric field, in units of newtons per coulomb or volts per meter, is a vector field that can be defined everywhere, except at the location of point charges (where it diverges to infinity). It is defined as the electrostatic force in newtons on a hypothetical small test charge at the point due to Coulomb's Law, divided by the magnitude of the charge in coulombs.
Electric field lines are useful for visualizing the electric field. Field lines begin on positive charge and terminate on negative charge. They are parallel to the direction of the electric field at each point, and the density of these field lines is a measure of the magnitude of the electric field at any given point.
Consider a collection of particles of charge, located at points (called source points), the electric field at (called the field point).
- Friction Electrification:
Is a method of electrification which consists in the transfer of electric charge (electrons) from one body to another.
The body that gives up electrons becomes positively charged while the one that receives them becomes negatively charged.
The electrification by friction is obtained substantially by rubbing the two bodies together and the passage of the electrons present on the surface derives from the friction that the rubbing produces.

A vibration switch is a simple protection device that senses vibration and triggers an alarm. Inside there is a spring that in the presence of vibrations oscillates and hits the metal wall, closing the circuit and allowing the passage of voltage.

This is a Rain LED circuit using a NE555 and a CD4017. I have divided this circuit into two parts, the first with NE555 generates an (adjustable) frequency which issent to the CD4017 (Pin 3 NE555 to Pin 14 CD4017) The second part of the circuit, with CD4017, manages the LEDs, making them run at a speed set by the frequency that I just told you about (from NE555). LED speed can be adjusted by a 47KΩ trimmer... and in this second version I added some electrolytic capacitors to create a small bright trail effect.

Principle of operation: Noise is received by the microphone capsule, the circuit with NE555 comes into action driving the relay (5/6 volt relay only).. At this point the relay closes the contact and powers the 230 Volt bulb.

● About MQ-3 Sensor: MQ-3 is a gas sensor that has also high sensitity to Alcohol, and has good resistance to disturb of gasoline, smoke and vapor. This sensor provides an analog resistive output based on alcohol concentration. When the alcohol gas exist, the sensor's conductivity gets higher along with the gas concentration rising.
The IC that drives this circuit is a NE555, the rest are simple components.. there is a relay with which, analyzing the circuit, it is possible to drive an external device, like a visual alarm etc.

The main component of this circuit is the BC547 transistor, which takes care of flow in its collector only the current necessary to power the LEDs in order to minimize the load on the batteries and obtain a more precise reading. This circuit requires only some low-cost components like transistor, diode, resistors, and LEDs.
I want to clarify that a 3.7 volt lithium battery (nominal value) can be considered charged if, without load, it has a voltage higher than 4 volts, and discharged if it is lower than 3.7 volts.

Hi! In this video I want to introduce and explain the new aluminum PCBs, how they are made and for what applications they are designed (not for standard PCB) Aluminum PCBs are ideal for situations when thermal heat dissipation requirements are very high. They are more effective at directing thermal energy away from PCB components and are used more than ever for applications of high power and high thermal heat dissipation... Like LED applications, including traffic lights, automotive lighting and general lighting.Unfortunately, as they are made, these PCBs have the drawback that they can only be single layer PCB and with SMD components
HOW ALUMINUM PCBs ARE MADE?
Aluminum printed circuit boards are also known as metal base PCBs and are comprised of metal based laminates covered by copper foil circuit layers. They are made of alloy plates that are a combination of aluminum, magnesium and silumin. They have anexcellent electrical insulation, good thermal potential and high machining performance, and they differ from other PCBs in several important ways like:
- These PCBs have a base layer that consists of an aluminum alloy substrate (Aluminum Layer)
- The thermal insulation layer that is an important component of the PCB. It contains a ceramic polymer that has excellent viscoelastic properties, great thermal resistance and defends the PCB from any stresses.
- The circuit layer that contains the copper foil for the PCB tracks (Circuit Copper Layer)
- The dielectric layer of insulation absorbs heat as current flows through the circuits. This is transferred to the aluminum layer, where the heat is dissipated.
In summary, the advantages of this type of PCB are:
- Less Expensive
- Ambient Friendly
- Heat transfer
- Sturdy and for voltages higher than 3000 volts
- Lightweight (compared to other metals)
HOW ABOUT STANDARD COMPONENTS?
It is not possible to use this type of PCB with standard components, but only with SMD / SMT components which are positioned and soldered on the same layer.Because as a result of the internal contact of the holes with the aluminum, all the pins of the components will be short-circuited with each other :(
The "Aluminum Vu-Meter" PCB was made only for the realization of this video, but as I explained it is not working. Made aluminum PCB only for single layer projects, with SMD SMT components

This circuit is a Voltage/Phase Detector and works thanks to three BC547 transistors. The operation of the circuit is very simple, the small antenna is able to pick up the electromagnetic wave (EMF) emitted by the electric voltage.. this signal is amplified by the transistors, the third transistor acts as a switch and when signal reach its base it becomes closed switch and turn on the LED. This detector can be powered from 3 volts to 9 volts DC, I have prepared the PCB to house a 3 volt battery (CR2032). Read the list of components carefully if you want to power my project differently. It is designed to be used as a phase detector on medium voltage electrical systems (at 230v AC). Be very careful when using these tools, 230 Volt is very dangerous and can kill!
What is a phase detector?
A phase detector is a simple and inexpensive instrument used to detect the presence of electrical voltage on any circuit and in particular to identify the presence of a phase on a conductor. There are different types of phase detector, usually they have the shape and functionality of a screwdriver, but in the transparent and insulating handle there is a small neon lamp with an electrical resistance connected in series... one end of the circuit is connected to the tip of the screwdriver, the other to a plate on the handle. But this is my electronic version!
Components (if powered with 3 volt battery):
- 3x BC547 NPN Transistor
- 1x 5 mm LED (Red, Yellow or Green)
- 1x CR2032 Battery (3 volt)
- 1x CR2032 Battery Case
- 1x 100Ω Resistor (220Ω if powered with more than 5v)
- 1x 100KΩ Resistor
- 1x 560KΩ Resistor
- 1x 10uF (25/100v) Electrolytic Capacitor
- 1x On/Off Button with 4 Pin
- 1x Metal Wire 7cm (1 mm thickness)
If you add PWR Led:
- 1x 3/5 mm LED (Any color)
- 1x 1KΩ Resistor (if powered with more than 5v)
- 1x 330Ω Resisrtor (if powered with less than 5v)

The Data Logger I try today is called RC-5, is produced by Elitech and was provided to me by Banggood. Aesthetically it looks like a USB stick, has IP67 Waterproof grade and records temperatures from -30 to +70 degrees celsius. Think that the battery (CR2032) can last up to about a year, assuming to record a temperature every 15 minutes! This Vu-Meter with LM3915 integrates an LM386 amplifier and a microphone, so that it can work without having to be physically connected to any audio source. As LED display I used a bargraph (Model: KYX-B10G). The sensitivity of the microgon (GAIN) is adjustable by means of a 10KΩ trimmer placed on the PCB. The Vu-Meter must be powered with a voltage between 5v and 12v DC, and the maximum current absorption is equal to 100mAh. There is also a 1N4007 diode in the circuit which protects the Vu-Meter from short circuits during power supply phase.

- About LM386:
LM386 is an integrated circuit containing a low-voltage audio power amplifier.It is suitable for battery-powered devices such as radios, guitar amplifiers, and hobby electronics projects. It can output 0.25 to 1 watts of power and has an impedance of 8Ω
- About 4mm LED:
It is a LED with a diameter of 4 mm, an unusual size. I found this LED on an old board taken from trash. I haven't found any others on the market.. don't worry, you can use a 3 mm LED!
- About Microphone Connector:
The microphone connection pad on this PCB was designed by me to allow the connection of different types of microphone capsules. Just be very careful in respecting the polarity + and - of the microphone.

This is a Digital Clock with PIC 16F84A!
The Displays of this clock have a multiplexing connection, this allows to manage multiple displays with a single IC. The BC547 transistors are used to power only one display at time by turning on only the segments corresponding to the number to be displayed. The 4MHz crystal is used by the PIC to have a reference frequency with which to count the time as accurately as possible and the three buttons are used to set Hours, Minutes and Reset.
About PIC16F84A: is 8-bit microcontroller, was the first PIC microcontroller with a serial programming algorithm and an EEPROM memory.. You need a code to make these IC work! For programming the PIC I used this Ludipipo multi programmer, which can be connected to the PC via RS232

This is a circuit for making a LED Heart, a nice gift for someone special. The "heart" of this project is an NE555 IC configured as Astable Multivibrator. This circuit must be powered with 5-12V DC.
After trying the excellent service offered by JLCPCB I recommend it, the quality of the PCB is high, customer service is always available and professional, the time of realization is short and the delivery of PCBs is by express courier.
