We will see how to access different attributes data stored on alembic sequences, how to manipulate them, and how to output this data back. How to use uv information to color our simulations. How to do changes on our simulation that stick across time, how to output colors, etc...
Thanks to Juan Gea for the help on Blender GN.

With geometry nodes we can add variation on position, scale and rotation in a very easy way giving us a lot of control not possible before.

This video is for a talk eloi andaluz will be doing in Blendiberia 2020: blendiberia.es
Este video esta hecho con la version demo, que os podeis bajar: effectivetds.com/storm
Vamos a ver como crear un PBD solver, para crear arena, o nieve. Como crear liquidos, manejar VDBs operaciones, exportaciones, y un poco de todo.
Espero os sea ayuda. Si teneis dudas, miraros el foro: effectivetds.com/forum
Storm its a multisolver application. Granular, Fluids and Gas solver. Designed for artists, easy to use, fast, and with multiple options to import and export data.
Latest version 0.5 comes with a complete VDB toolkit, revamped nodes, sparse smoke solver, upressing and deforming tools, spline forces, spreadsheet, write/modify custom attributes, and much more.
Storm is available for Windows, Mac and Linux, and is developed by Sebastian Schafer. Distributed by Effectivetds.

Totally improvised tutorial (sorry for the sound). Goran Pavles will explain Eloi Andaluz how to scatter points using Houdini over Uvs instead of using attributes. Different considerations and how similar or different it is from 3dsmax with magmaflow or thinking particles.
New upressing tools, new deformer tools, new sparse smoke solver, new VDB toolkit and new nodal interface! As easy intuitive and fast as ever, with just more possibilities.

Without any mesh data, just particles, and transfer different data as colors, as Uvs, color and other data.
Remember Eloi created a complete course with over 40 tutorials covering all areas in Thinking Particles: effectivetds.com/resources/fx-education/tpzerotohero
TP from zero to HERO is a complete course done by Eloi Andaluz Fulla. You will learn Thinking Particles starting for the basics, and across 40 tutorials you will do all types of animations to learn and understand TP.
All exercises are don with 3ds max 2021 and TP drop 9, but you will be able to follow with 3ds max 2018 and any Thinking Particles 6 version.
I created a 3dsmax / Thinking Particles scene based on the washington post html graphics: washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator
You will be able to see the effect of isolation at home and how important it is to flatten the cruve, change parameters and see the effect.

Stay safe!
I found this question a lot, so decided to give an example on how we can create secondaries (debris, smoke, sparks, whatever) based on different metodes. We will see it based on a ray intersect, on geometry contact, and on contact provided by our solver.
Hope you found this useful. You will found as well on the forum the files for download.
We will see how to create elastic objects using Storm emitter. Will play with some parameters on the granular solver to create different elastic objects.
Its easy, its fast, its Storm!
Exporting 1 single file or a sequence of files, using Alembic (.abc), and importing this sequence in to Blender to be rendered with eevee or in 3ds max to be rendered with Vray.
Eloi Andaluz will go over different techniques and workflows in thinking particles, to create finally a procedural road, with multiple controls. During this exercise we will see multiple nodes being used, like referencing, shapes, animation tree instancing, bullet, vehicle, math nodes and much more, check the first tutorial its free!
We will talk about how to Instance this geometry:
-Frost
-ThinkingParticles
-Tyflow
-Pflow
Even Pflow is the worst of all the possibilities, we will use it since its the only that doesnt require any extra paid plugin.
SDF settings, how to start particles to sleep, how to save PRT caches, and other considerations.

We will use 3dsmax and Storm.
Download the 3dsmax files here: effectivetds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=115&t=1629
Its a total of 3 video tutorials. On the first one we will cover Scene preparation in 3dsmax. Create a lowres character for simulations, preparate the deflectors and exports.
Very basic tutorial, will cover emit from meshes, some parameters tweaking, and how we can export this simulation with prt/abc/bin and at the same time create a playblast for a fast review.
A new update on Storm, here what we added!
v0.2.516
- adding expressions to all numeric and boolean parameters
- caches and images are written faster and more robust
- adding an SPH system
- addding a Linux version
- forces can work in wind mode / strength depending on granular clumps
- manipulator handles visible through objects & smaller visual improvements
- static alembic geometry reading faster
- licensing more robust and floating licensing as an option
- Alembic particle export fixes and more channels written
- bin-file reading now possible for all systems
- colliders can read prt point files directly
- parameter animation & expression handling more robust
- export fallback pathes now part of the scene file
- and more
- bugfixes

We updated our Granular solver with a lot of new features, and we improved a lot what we had.
Storm has been used in production in multiple studios, and we listen our customers adding, improving what we had to make it even faster, more fast and fun to work with.
We also added Mac Os support!
