MY SKIN | Thrax & Odette [concept video] AiraSora 2023-07-30 | Hey dudes, dudettes and dudles!Yet another concept video of mine though this one is very different from the one with Quasimodo and Belle. In the Quaselle video, I wanted to put two different scenes together to see how they would potentially look together before MAYBE committing to editing it properly.This Thraxette video however is more a reflection of a story for them that I had a slight idea for months ago, but suddenly came crashing at me this past week, while I also stumbled across some of my own old videos where I used this song.You can't see any of that Thraxette story here in this video, BUT just to give an idea what it's about: Thrax's alien species is known for plundering whichever planet they set their eyes on and will take whatever they want or believe they need. During their attack on Earth, Thrax meets Odette and decides she's his loot this time and brings her onboard the space ship. This is, however, NOT a normal thing they do and his fellow travelers are shocked when they eventually find Odette, whom Thrax has hidden in his quarters on the ship. Thinking fast, Thrax says he intends to bring her to their leader due to her being a princess - reality is he just took her the same way he has stolen so many things before without a care in the world.This scene here I imagine is at a type of celebration where Odette is sort of bullied into singing for them all, basically she's just there to entertain them and they all assume they won't like her singing cause she's a human and what's good singing for them is probably not the same for Thrax's species. And it is once again for an MEP by @-sugarush Will she ever get sick of my shit? Who knows! I at least didn't keep bugging her with my "I haven't edited for a full year and dunno wtf I'm doing now lol pls send help" this time... I'm feeling more confident again! Mostly... I'll get there eventually. Hopefully.Anyway! The story here is hopefully straightforward enough; Jasmine seeks out the help of Cupid to find out if the prince she has her eyes on is actually worth of her affection or not. Cupid goes "bet, babygirl" and uses her mirror to check out who Aladdin really is and he... is a fuck boy. Yup, the mirror shows his true soul and his true soul is a fucking hoebag who flirts with any woman with a pulse. This of course saddens Jasmine and Cupid tries to comfort her and... open ending. Cliffhanger. Whatever you wanna call it.This project actually made me want to do a full video with the entire story cause there was a lot I just couldn't fit into less than 30 seconds. And even as is, I am genuinely worried it is still rushed... but SugarRush permitted me to keep the ending more neutral rather than having Cupid hit on Jasmine the moment she finds out the guy she was crushing on is a fuck boi... he felt too much like a fuck boi too if I did that 😂 Either way, it's always more motivating to have people interested in a project so if that's something you want to see, do let me know!And another thing that I actually did in my former Charmine video too, but it was less obvious... I have, what I am choosing to call, "fixed" Jasmine's skin color (and her jewelry). What I mean by that is that I have always found it a bit odd (and potentially problematic) that everyone's skin color in Aladdin is very... red. Almost as red as the Native Americans in Peter Pan. Which is... not cool. Back when I was in @MxDisney 2024, that was one of the main reasons I decided to make Jasmine black rather than keep her Arabian, so I could experiment with her skin color a bit more. I am planning on continuing to change her skin color this way in future videos. Oh, and the same with her jewelry. It has never made historically sense that Jasmine, a princess, is wearing bronze jewelry... so since I am making her skin less red, I might as well make her jewelry actually gold. Now it's at least a little bit more realistic and historically accurate. As you all might already be aware, I took an unofficial, subconscious hiatus after MxDisney 2024 due to some burnout from that, but also because I was starting yet another education and moving in at a new house with my mother, my five birds and her dog. A lot was happening, especially with my new education as an acupuncturist, so editing became a non-existing element in my life... for over a year. I've been making (non)Disney crossover videos for well over a decade, 16 years to be exact, and that was the longest I have ever gone without editing anything at all. I fell rusty... SUPER rusty... and I was second-guessing so many things while making this video.Truth be told, I have no idea if this video is actually good or not. I look at it, and like what I've done, but I have no idea if this is... "below my usual quality" so to speak??? That might sound silly, but when you haven't done something for a long time, it's kinda nerve-wracking to get back into it. I also wound up changing my mind about several elements in this story; it went from a comedy horror of Jasmine killing a bunch of female suitors hoping to win Christopher's favor, of her killing Cinderella, her killing Ariel, her writing a fake note as Christopher to make Ariel think he's leaving her to... well, this. Jasmine being jealous that Ariel has gotten Christopher's attention so she just... takes him herself lol. I liked using some color symbolism here, with Jasmine wearing green while her entire world is just devoid of color... until Christopher becomes "hers". Then there's suddenly color in the world lol. It was fun to add some color theory in this, even if it was a very basic color theory.ANYWAY... I have more Charmine videos planned and also a Thraxette one so... stay tuned! Henry manages to grab and push Maua out of the way before the cup smashes on the floor and Mrs. White storms off angrily. As Henry helps Maua up again, Detective Scarlett reads from the will that anyone claiming to be Mr. White's child, legitimate or otherwise, will receive nothing. During the interrogation, Maua doesn't quite reveal the full story of why she showed up to the party, but she reveals just enough to possibly accidentally giving the detectives a motive for why she might not have been fond of Mr. White.05:46 Trying to sleepElizabeth (Cinderella), one of the manor's staff members, comes to guide her to her room for the night. She's fiercely loyal.There's a LOT of things up to interpretation here though: Does Eleanor feel the same way? Or is she taking advantage of Nanny's feelings for her? Is this taking place in the Cinderella universe where Nanny just happens to ALSO be a maid in the house since before Cinderella joined the picture? Is Cinderella still Eleanor's step daughter or is she hired help like Nanny, but who is mistreated - unlike Nanny? It's peak at my job right now, which means we're getting A LOT of customers and it's call after call after call with practically no break in-between. Friday morning, I finally cracked. Thankfully my manager is an absolute peach, spent 30 minutes talking to me and calming me down before insisting I start my weekend early. Let’s get the basics down first: a mask is when you cut a character out of their original background in order to put them in a different environment or put them next to another character. You do this by masking and there’s a few different masking methods. The most common ones are chroma key, manual pen tool and rotobrushing. Today, we’re focusing on chroma keying and rotobrushing in the Adobe After Effects program.We’ll start off by chroma keying away the red color surrounding Belle. Now, the effect here is called obsolete – keying, but it works the exact same way as chroma keying does by choosing a color you want to remove and then adjusting some settings until you’re happy with the result. I’m choosing two shades of red to remove to get as much away as possible.Now that that’s done and only Belle’s dress is left visible, I go and rotobrush the dress so everything else is gone too. If I went straight to rotobrushing instead of chroma keying first, I would have to rotobrush the whole thing myself, for example those tiny dainty fingers she has and while the rotobrush tool has pretty decent AI, it would need my help to rotobrush this, so chroma keying it from the beginning makes this process much easier.Now, as you can see, since Belle has some red in her skin and hair that is now completely gone from the scene, so we’ll add the shot of Belle again. This time though, we’re going to use rotobrush to add what is missing from the other shot – that being Belle’s hair and skin. So I’m asking the rotobrush tool to mask just her upper body since I’ve already masked the rest of her.As you can see, the rotobrush’s AI is doing a lot of the work for me, but it does need some tweaking here and there to make it just right. But rotobrushing just this small part of Belle instead of everything of her has made the process way faster. So instead of spending maybe 15+ minutes doing this, I’ve spent less than 5 minutes instead.Hope you guys enjoyed this little tutorial and for those curious, yes, this mask is indeed for my Quaselle video with the song Mary on a Cross. What I meany that is that this video, in comparison to my usual WIPs and previews, is not a work in progress or a future video - it's simply me experimenting with these two scenes and doing very bare bones editing to see if the scenes would work together or not. Literally just an experiment.When I posted my Quasimodo color palette experiment, I mentioned I badly wanted to find someone to ship Quasimodo with. Someone reminded me of my OLD Quasimodo and Belle video which also had Esmeralda and Beast in it. Sophia also informs her teachers that she spends her free time working to support her ill mother. What this job is though, she doesn't reveal... but given she often has to bring her brother with her whenever her mother is too ill to take care of her, it does make you wonder what kind of job she could even have?During a field trip, Sophia brings her brother with her who is so excited that he trips over his own two feet. For the school project, Sophia has brought her own camera with her, her most precious and expensive possession.When Brennnan starts imaging the T Rex coming to life, Sophia plays along and pretends the T Rex is indeed alive. Brennan overshares to the dinosaur though, which one of Sophia's classmates, Pepper, overhears. Taking her eyes away from Brennan just a moment gives him just enough time to run up the dinosaur and scream for his sister to take a picture. Grabbing her camera, Sophia quickly snaps a few pictures that she decides to NOT turn in to her teachers because she'd really rather not have them tell her she can't bring her brother with her anymore. That would be a very big problem.
