Preikestolen or Prekestolen (English: Preacher's Pulpit or Pulpit Rock) is a famous tourist attraction in the municipality of Forsand in Rogaland county, Norway. Preikestolen is a steep cliff which rises 604 metres (1,982 ft) above the Lysefjorden. Atop the cliff, there is an almost flat top of approximately 25 by 25 metres (82 ft × 82 ft). It sits on the north side of the fjord, opposite the Kjerag plateau, located on the south side.
Tourism at the site has been increasing in recent years, with between 150,000 and 200,000 visitors in 2012,[1] making it one of the most visited natural tourist attractions in Norway. BASE jumpers often leap from the cliff. Due to its increased popularity, there is currently a project under way to improve the path to the site, which is only accessible via a 3.8-kilometre (2.4 mi) long hike.
Preikestolen is located in the southern part of the Ryfylke district in Rogaland county in Western Norway. The city of Stavanger, the fourth largest in Norway, with a number of direct flights between European cities, is located 25 kilometres (16 mi) from the site, and the parking facility for Preikestolen is located about one hour from Stavanger by ferry and car.

Established in Roman times, Aveiro was initially known as Aviarium, meaning, "a gathering place or preserve of birds". As you would expect of a coastal town with good shelter for boats fishing was an important acitivity from the beginning. In fact the cod fishing grounds off the coast of Newfoundland were discovered by João Afonso, a son of Aveiro.
Whilst much of the outskirts of Aveiro are fairly mundane and industrial the old town centre is well worth a visit. Dubbed 'The Venice of Portugal', the town has both canals and gondola like boats - it has to be admitted, the link is a little tenuous though! The boats are known as barcos moliceiros and are in fact the traditional flat bottomed boats used for collecting seaweed from the lagoon, they are also sail powered.
Possibly the best view in Aviero is the view along the canalside by the fish market where tiled cottages face each other across the canal and barcos moliceiros are moored alongside.City break : Portugal : Porto - The Ribeira distric Dom Luis I Bridge on the Douro River from droneWorld&Drone2017-10-05 | Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Penisula. A gem in the North of Portugal famous for its Port wine, Porto is colourful city, cherished as a World Heritage Site. Its unique quirkiness is attributed to the jumble of styles and eras which make up its foundations. On top of this, the city is a lively hub for all ages, sharing a love of culture, food and music which makes a city break to Porto a popular destination for tourists year upon year. The city boasts an extensive history, interesting tourist attractions and a buzzing nightlife. There is a lot to see and do in Porto.
Take the funicular to the top level and walk across - amazing views. Walk down the streets at the Gaia side of the river and visit the Port Houses. Cafes are cheaper this side of the river too.
The Ribeira district - The oldest district of the city which is filled with ancient houses, narrow cobbled streets and numerous family owned restaurants, cafes and bars.
The Dom Luís I Bridge is a double-deck metal bridge that spans the River Douro between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. At its construction, its 172 metres span was the longest of its type in the world. It has been confused with the nearby Maria Pia Bridge, a railway bridge that was built 9 years earlier.
There are trains that run in the middle of the bridge only a few feet from the walking area. That said, the walk across the bridge is worth the sights and sounds. The views from this Eiffel bridge are wonderful.Iceland drone footage Travel and explore - I love IcelandWorld&Drone2017-04-09 | Iceland drone video from Travel and explore beautiful Iceland - I love Iceland. Iceland (Icelandic: Ísland is a Nordic island country in the North Atlantic, with a population of 348,580 and an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), making it the most sparsely populated country in Europe.[8] The capital and largest city is Reykjavík. Reykjavík and the surrounding areas in the southwest of the country are home to over two-thirds of the population.
Beautyful Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The nature interior consists of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains, and glaciers, and many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate, despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle. Its high latitude and marine influence keep summers chilly, with most of the archipelago having a tundra climate. You can see almost all that place from drone.

In 1991, the American magazine "Islands Magazine" put it on the list of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. Its uniqueness is among picturesque cliffs and amazing basalt rock formations.
Among them they deserve special attention columns Gardar and in the water rocks Reynisdrangar - some see in them the clutches of the witch, dragon's back or castle towers.
Deserves special attention columns Garda confusingly similar to the great organ, and in the water rocks Reynisdrangar - some see in them the clutches of the witch, dragon's back or castle towers
Rocks Reynisdrangar constitute a good navigation for sailors. Is associated with them a legend: apparently these formations were created with three trolls who earnestly tried to attract masted ship to shore, but with the sunrise been turned into rock. Noteworthy is also a small basalt cave Halsanefshellir.
In the immediate vicinity of the beach is a very interesting place - plateau Dyrholaey. It is located on the reserve of birds, among which you can sometimes meet puffin. In the breeding season of birds, ie from May to the end of June, you can not enter the territory of protected nature reserve. At the top of the plateau is a lighthouse. It stretches away view of the spectacular natural rock arch Toin which stems directly from the ocean.
Near the beach you can find town Vik I Myrdal (isl. Bay swamp valleys), but more often is used only the first part of the name : Vik. This is where the highest recorded rainfall in Iceland (227 mm / year).
Take the black beach Vikurffjara which offers an amazing view of the frozen sea trolls.
The attractions of the town is Brydebud - historical house, which was built on the islands of Vestmannaeyjar in 1831. And then transferred to Vik in 1895 rokku. Today its the tourist information, café and a small Museum of Nature. The area should climb to the top Reynisfjall (349 m asl), from which there is a splendid view of the beach Reynisfjara.

It's definitely one of the places that you must see. Area of land still rises and falls of several centimeters. This is due to the continuous flow of magma through underground chamber. The whole area is very active, volcanologists believe that at any moment can happen here eruption. Therefore, caution should be exercised.
The name comes from the volcanic area located on its premises Krafla volcano with a height of 818 m above the sea level You can see a lot of smoldering crevices, and with a little Szczeci also small eruptions.
Undoubtedly, attention is focused on lava field Leirgjukur a particularly wide 320 m Viti crater filled with water in a dark blue color, summer is painted in beautiful colors. What is interesting in Icelandic Viti means a evil comes from pagan beliefs supposedly diabolical habitat was under the volcano.
The crater Stora Viti was established in May 1724, during the eruption Myvatnseldar ( "fires Myvatn"), was the biggest series of eruptions and earthquakes in the history of Iceland. The huge mass of volcanic ash covered the entire adjacent area. In 1,725 years there was ie. An explosion slot, when the outbreak of the resulting cracks surfaced five streams of lava. One of them came to Lake Myvatn. Heated flowing magma destroying everything in its path, except for the church in Reykjahlik, who miraculously survived the disaster. A series of earthquakes and explosions, lasted for five years until 1729. Over the next 250 years Krafla rested.
Magma shedding beneath the earth's surface heats the crust so hard that it is an inexhaustible source of energy. Naturally, Icelanders decided to take advantage of this fact building a geothermal power plant. Drilling started in 1973. Had a depth of up to 2 kilometers, and all to accompany the hot steam from the magma chambers to built power plant. Enraged drilling work Krafla in the same year, December 20, decided to show its unpredictability. Fires Krafli "(Kröflueldar) of the night" fireworks "which was accompanied by a flow of molten lava, followed by a strong earthquake at the same time opening up to three hundred meters gap which immediately appeared magma, it began another series of explosions similar to those of 1,724 years. This time, the series lasted nearly a decade, spilling up to nine streams of lava, which, however, did not threaten the construction of the power plant. "Freed nearly a quarter of a cubic kilometer of lava, which covered an area of over 30 km2. Flames shot here in 1980, and even 1984 years.
Walk the Krafla area is permitted only delineated trails. Avoid lighter areas around the mesh mud, snow caps and jagged fragments of lava. Visiting this place can be seen protruding from the ground pipe. They belong to the geothermal power plant Leirbotn.

Climbing the volcano we will see a beautiful and diverse panorama, just look in the opposite direction to feel like we were in a completely different place. Particularly noteworthy Dimmuborgir (isl. Dark city). Fancifully black rock formations were formed about 2,000 years ago by lava flowing from the surrounding craters. The most famous is the cave Kirkjan (isl. Church). According to folk beliefs in Dimmuborgir appeared elves, trolls, and even creatures of evil.
During the colonization of the island, magma flowing from Svortuborgir located on the southern end of the mountain Namafjall almost completely surrounded the volcano. At the same time there was an explosion on the slopes Dalfall.
Following the route 848, you will reach the parking lot at the foot of the volcano, which leads straight trail finish its peak. Skansen was founded as the first on the island, in 1947, the farm was given the status of a protected object and is now under the auspices of the National Museum of Iceland. Since 1952 the farm can be visited. Ideally it shows what life was like Icelanders in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The creation of the farm dates back roughly 874 years, that is since the first settlers, and, peat buildings economic and residential located on the holding arose gradually in the 18th and 19th centuries. The settlers built it mostly with the use of peat, due to limited access to wood material. Buildings performed with thin layers of wood, insulated with thick peat walls. The whole look fit thanks to the Icelandic grass that grows very densely, creating a strong and durable connection of roots and soil.
These types of structures are characterized by relatively short service life in areas with heavy rain - for decades, the situation changes dramatically when the rainfall is relatively low, then the building will last up to 100 years if not more. The slope of the roof, in this case played a significant role. If the roof was too steep, grass did not stop the water and did not grow, contributing to crack turf, and the appearance of holes in the roof. In contrast, when the roof was too flat, the water leaked into the house. Practically it was possible to build large structures ensuring an adequate angle of the roof, hence the division into a number of smaller buildings connected by a corridor. In the case of farms in Glaubaer corridor measures 21 meters and provides access to the 9 houses. Volcano is the remnant of a large volcanic system Ljósufjöll. Its eruption occurred more than 3,400 years ago.
Grabrok is also the largest of three craters located in the area, is over 170 meters. Other craters of this Grábrókarfelli (Rauðabrók) and Litlu-Grábrók (Smábrók). The latter virtually disappear because of mining before the area was covered by a natural monument in 1962.
Fields of lava Grábrókarhraun after the explosion covered 7 km2 area surrounding volcanoes. Many Icelanders believe this area to be one of the most beautiful in Iceland, there is no way to disagree. From the very top opens to a picturesque view of the fjords Borgafjordur, Lake Hreðavatn black petrified lava-covered green moss, bushes birch - feel the power of nature.
The volcano itself also in its large part is covered with moss. A great advantage is routed to the top of a wooden footbridge. In this way you can get around the extinct volcano. A trip to the interior is less than 10 minutes, another 10 minutes to pass through the path of the volcano, which is by far the best place of observation. Even if you do not have much time we stop at Grabrok to see up close its perfect shape.

Only about 65 km, is a part of the old highland route inking the village from the north of the island with a meeting place for the parliament at Thingvellir.
Areas through which runs the route were featured more than once in the sagas. The trail leads through the valley that runs between the characteristic mountain Ok (1,190 meters) to the west and the glacier Langjokull the east. In the summer the road is mostly passable for cars, but it is recommended to drive 4-wheel, especially when you have the intention to exit on the side of the road. In any case, to overcome the described section 550 without a problem you just need 2D car
From the city Bargarbyggd we follow the route no. 50 in the direction of the town Kleppjarnsreykir. After several kilometers, turn right on road No. 52 leading directly to Kaldidalur. On the right side, about halfway No. 52 is a small but charming waterfall, drones up and we quickly record, which is unexpectedly interrupted by rain.
Driving further we see a vantage point near the lake Uxavatn. On the stone base was placed there sundial with descriptions of all the mountains of Iceland
After a few kilometers we get to Kaldidalur. Turning right you reach the Thingvellir, we are interested in the road between the glaciers from here turn left. The surface of the entire length of the path is made of gravel. While the landscape is dominated mainly by glaciers and stone deserts.
One of the side roads leading to the glacier Langjakull (signpost is hard to miss), but the road is quite stony, without taking the risk of a motorhome we continue the route on the occasion of performing the recording from the air, while Skoda bravely reach the glacier. It is the second largest in the country (932 km2) and rises to a height of 1450 m above the sea level In places the thickness of the ice cap reaches 580 m.

The name derives from the legend of a poor woman named Gudrun.
That woman lived near the village Sanderdi, whose owner was a lawyer Vilhjálmur Jonsson. When Gunn had from which to pay the rent, Vilhjálmur took her only property - kettle for cooking. The woman fell into a frenzy of rage, she refused to drink holy water and died. On the way to the cemetery, the men carrying the coffin, they noticed that it has become suspiciously light, and digging the grave of the people heard the voice, "You do not have to dig too deep. I'm not going to lie long. Soon the entire peninsula began to be haunted, ghost Gudrun threatened and harassed locals, while living near the priest Eirikkur Magnusson not pledged to trap him, and through the ruse did not imprison him in a geyser .. Reportedly, these events took place over 300 years ago and notes about Gudrun can be found in the list of Arnie Magnusson from 1703.
After all still believe that bubbling and hissing from the earth is really moaning condemned Gudrun and that the get victims who too licked off the geyser by wearing a cloud of poisonous gas, which after a while melts together with imprisoned in the souls.
In Gunnuhver can observe countless holes in the ground, in the air ejection cloud of gases, and the pool of boiling mud, which give the place gloomy climate. The explanation of the phenomenon of the place is as interesting as the above legend. Located beneath the earth's surface magma heats seeping through the cracks and port rock sea water, which then evaporates under pressure, bringing to the surface of the earth. Royalty Free Music by http://audiomicro.com/royalty-free-musicIceland : City Keflavik – Reykjanesbaer drone fly over the city aerial videoWorld&Drone2016-10-18 | Keflavik is a very important center of fishing, industrial and service. It is inhabited by about 10,000 people. In 1996 the city was connected with the towns Njarðvík and hafnir and former US base Asbru in agglomerations Reykjanesbaer (over 14 thousand people).
In the past, Keflavik served as commercial. Even in the sixteenth century, there was no shortage here of the English and German merchants, but after the introduction of the Danish monopoly in the seventeenth century, the city began to decline. After World War II the US military stationed here in the framework of NATO. After years of protests by the local population, the base was finally abolished September 30, 2006. On this day there was a solemn ceremony of exchange of flags on the mast of the US to Icelandic. The buildings of the former base was converted into flats, designed mainly for students.
Take a walk path along the cliffs at the harbor. In nice weather you can see from here Reykjavik, and even the Snaefellsnes peninsula. At the cliffs of the cave is located (Skessugellir) in which it can meet a huge figure of a troll Skessa. More in the gallery below the article. Troll snores, belches but also wins the very famous song. In the surroundings you can watch the unusual sculpture Asmundur Sveinsson (fishermen sculpture) Equally interesting place is a museum of the Viking world where you can see a reconstruction of a Viking boat. In the city center there is a museum Dushus currently is several museums in neighboring buildings. The entire island is famous for the local exhibition of models of almost 100 ships, constructed by the skipper Glimura Karlsson. The building held chamber concerts, you can also admire the works of the painter jóhannes sveinsson kjarval. The great attraction of the city is taking place in September Night Lights (Ljosa-nott), ending with a great fireworks display.
In most European countries, the international airport is located in the state capital. Iceland in this category is one of the exceptions, the main and also the largest airport for international flights that arrive is located about 4 kilometers west of the town of Keflavik. It is called the International Airport of Reykjavik. With the exception of flights to Greenland and the Faroe Islands, the airport in Keflavik supports all other international calls. The airport is also designated as a reserve airport for the landing of NASA space shuttles in case of problems with the landing in the United States or failure aboard the spacecraft primarily because of the history of its construction (built by the US Army during World War II)
The airport has a restrictive approach to spend the night in anticipation of the cruise, but air come in the middle of the night saw several people sleeping in the corners airport.
After leaving the terminal attracts attention sculpture of a plane wykluwający of eggs, the author of that unusual construction Magnus Tomasson.

Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 (Iceland) and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls and natural wonders in Iceland. The waterfall drops 60 meters and is part of the river Seljalands-river that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajokull. One of the interesting things about this waterfall is the fact that visitors can walk behind it into a small cave.
Gljufrafoss waterfall ( Gljúfrafoss or Gljúfrabúi ) "one who lives in the canyon" is a small waterfall north of the larger falls of Seljalandsfoss waterfall in Iceland. The falls are partially obscured by the cliff rock, but hikers can follow a trail to enter the narrow canyon where the water plummets to a small pool. There is also a winding trail nearby and a wooden staircase to enable sightseers to climb roughly halfway up and view the falls from another perspective.

#drone #Iceland #waterfall #SkogafossIceland Krysuvik Reykjanes peninsula geotermal fields from the sky drone Iceland SeltunWorld&Drone2016-08-24 | The geothermal area Iceland Krysuvik Krýsuvík is situated on the Reykjanes peninsula. It is in the south of Reykjanes in the middle of the fissure zone on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge which traverses Iceland. Krýsuvík consists of several geothermal fields, such as Seltún. Here solfataras, fumaroles, mud pots and hot springs have formed, the soil is coloured bright yellow, red, and green hues. Sulphur deposits were mined in 1722 - 1728 and in the 19th century. German scientist Robert Bunsen visited the site in 1845 and, based on research there, proposed a hypothesis on formation of sulphuric acid in nature.[1] Near the geothermal fields are several maars - craters created by the explosions of overheated groundwater. The unusual green-blue Grænavatn lake has formed in one of these maars. Test boreholes were made here in the early 1970s, some of the boreholes have turned into irregular, artificial geysers, one of which exploded in 1999, leaving a crater.[1] Krýsuvík is a popular hiking area and tourism infrastructure - such as wooden pathways - has been developed. The biggest lake in the area, Kleifarvatn, began to diminish after a big earthquake in 2000; 20% of its surface has since disappeared. In this area there were some farms until the 19th century, after which they were abandoned. Only a small chapel, Krísuvíkurkirkja, built in 1857, remained, until it burned to the ground on January 2, 2010. The music video for the song "Never Forget" by Greta Salóme & Jónsi was filmed in this area. This song also went to the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan and came 20th in the grand final.
W południowej części półwyspu Reykjanes, w obrębie obszar geotermalnego Krysuvik znajduje się niezwykłe pole geotermalne Seltun. To istne zderzenie z wulkanicznym obliczem półwyspu. To one nadają temu miejscu specyficzny zapach zgniłych jaj. W 1999 roku na skutek eksplozji jednego z gejzerów powstał krater o średnicy 30 metrów wypełniony wrzącą wodą. Miejsce udostępnione zostało turystom, wytyczono ścieżki i wybudowano drewniane kładki i pomosty. The horseshoe-shaped depression is part of the Vatnajökull National Park and measures approximately 3.5 km in length and 1.1 km across. For more than half of its length, the canyon is divided through the middle by a distinctive rock formation 25 meters high called Eyjan ("the Island"), from which hikers may enjoy spectacular views.
The canyon's steep sides are formed by cliffs up to 100 metres in height. Down in the canyon, visitors walk through a woodland of birch and willow. Between 1947 and 1977, a number of foreign tree species were introduced, including fir, larch and pine. The small lake Botnstjörn is home to a variety of waterfowl species.
Ásbyrgi was most likely formed by catastrophic glacial flooding of the river Jökulsá á Fjöllum after the last Ice Age, first 8-10,000 years ago, and then again some 3,000 years ago. The river has since changed its course and now runs about 2 km to the east. The legend explains the unusual shape of the canyon differently. Nicknamed Sleipnir's footprint, it is said that the canyon was formed when Odin's eight-legged horse, Sleipnir, touched one of its feet to the ground here.
Nazwa w języku islandzkim oznacza „kanion rzek lodowych”, powstał w 1973 r. a w 2008 włączony został w granice większego Parku Narodowego tj, Vatnajokull.
Kanion Asbyrgi swoim kształtem przypomina końską podkowę o długości 3,5 kilometra i szerokości ponad kilometr, otaczają go ściany skalne o wysokości do 10m.

Whaling in Iceland began with spear-drift whaling which was practiced from as early as the 12th century and continued in a relic form until the late 19th century. The relationship with whales is reflected in the Icelandic language: hvalreki is the word for "beached whale", while also meaning something good that is unexpectedly yours or at your disposal. Modern commercial whaling was introduced to Iceland by companies from other nations in the late 19th century. Today, Iceland is involved in commercial whaling under objection to an ongoing moratorium established by the International Whaling Commission in 1986.
Icelandic whalers have slaughtered more than 35,000 whales since the late nineteenth century. Iceland refuses to recognise the IWC moratorium on commercial whaling and currently allocates its whalers a quota to kill endangered fin whales mostly for export, as well as minke whales to service domestic demand, including from tourists.
n late February 2016, Kristjan Loftsson, Iceland’s sole fin whaler, announced that his company, Hvalur hf, would not be killing endangered fin whales off Iceland this summer!Puffins kingdom Iceland Latrabjarg cliffs flying hunting puffin bird drone aerial video footageWorld&Drone2016-08-12 | Puffins in Iceland the biggest kingdom of the birds.
Cliffs Latrabjarg are without a doubt a great kingdom of puffins. If you visiting Iceland- walking along the cliffs of the peninsula Latrabjarg is a must. It is a unique place, the westernmost point of Europe. The cliffs are so steep that make an amazing impression, millions of birds, dozen species, and of course, beautiful and friendly Puffins, which did almost nothing with our presence, we had them on the doorstep :) The different situation was with the drone, birds sensed the danger and giving an effective dive in the ocean :) If any of you decide on an expedition, I recommend to visit this charming place late in the evening, please keep in mind that Puffins during the day most of the time they spend fishing and feeding the chicks. Ideally time to arrive is after 9-10 p.m. local time when most of the birds are sitting on the cliffs. We arrived at midnight, there were 3 or 4 other cars and only two people visible on horizon- a paradise for observing, taking photos and struggle with the wind during the risky flight :) Anyway, I drank whiskey with Puffins, a drone or as it should be professionally determine “the UAV for the commoners” came back in one piece :) Video of the flight.. well.. came out "somehow"- because of the weather and the poor light doesn’t fully reflect the charm of the place, but I hope that it will be enjoyed :) On the whole expedition to Iceland, time spent on these cliffs will be in our memory forever, what is more we'll come back there I think more than once.
Puffins are any of three small species of alcids (auks) in the bird genus Fratercula with a brightly coloured beak during the breeding season. These are pelagic seabirds that feed primarily by diving in the water. They breed in large colonies on coastal cliffs or offshore islands, nesting in crevices among rocks or in burrows in the soil. Two species, the tufted puffin and horned puffin, are found in the North Pacific Ocean, while the Atlantic puffin is found in the North Atlantic Ocean. All puffin species have predominantly black or black and white plumage, a stocky build, and large beaks. They shed the colourful outer parts of their bills after the breeding season, leaving a smaller and duller beak. Their short wings are adapted for swimming with a flying technique under water. In the air, they beat their wings rapidly (up to 400 times per minute)[1] in swift flight, often flying low over the ocean's surface.

Seyðisfjörður Iceland travel close to the fjords ( Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈseiðɪsfjœrðʏr̥]) is a town and municipality in the Eastern Region of Iceland at the innermost point of the fjord of the same name. A road over Fjarðarheiði mountain pass connects Seyðisfjörður to the rest of Iceland; 27 kilometres (17 miles) to the ring road and Egilsstaðir. Seyðisfjörður is surrounded by mountains on all sides with most prominent Mt. Bjólfur to the West (1085m) and Strandartindur (1010m) to the East. The fjord itself is accessible on each side from the town, by following the main road that leads through the town. Further out the fjord is fairly remote but rich with natural interests including puffin colonies and ruins of former activity such as nearby Vestdalseyri, from where the local church was transported.
A place of singing waterfalls and peculiar characters, Seydisfjordur is a welcoming town booming with creativity and rich in history. Inhabited by about 700 people the town acts as one big family, and a friendly one at that. Everybody is welcome to our little paradise and we want to share the goodness with you. Visit Seydisfjordur, experience the flourishing art scene, try our guided tours and delightful hiking trails. Enjoy the local cuisine and the sensation of our unique town. Seydisfjordur is one of Lonely Planet’s top picks in Iceland.

Lanzarote drone (/ˌlænzəˈrɒti/; Spanish pronunciation: [lanθaˈɾote, lansaˈɾote]), a Spanish island, is the easternmost of the autonomous
Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 125 km (78 mi) off the coast of Africa and 1,000 km (621 mi) from the Iberian Peninsula. Covering 845.94 square kilometers (327 sq mi), it is the fourth largest of the islands in the archipelago. With 141,938 inhabitants, Lanzarote is the third most populous island of the Canary Islands, after Tenerife and Gran Canaria. In the center-west of the island is the Timanfaya National Park, which is one of the main attractions of Lanzarote. Its capital is Arrecife. The first recorded name for the island, given by Angelino Dulcert, was Insula de Lanzarotus Marocelus, after the Genovese navigator Lancelotto Malocello, from which the modern name is derived. The island's name in the native language was Tyterogaka or Tytheroygaka, which may mean "one that is all ochre" (referring to the island's predominant colour).

Lanzarote Castillo de las ColoradasDettifoss waterfall Iceland Drone Aerial Video One of the most powerfull in Europe Selfoss waterfallWorld&Drone2016-07-05 | You must see Dettifoss waterfall when you arive on your vacation to iceland. If you travel by camper you have some nice spots neer waterfall. I suggests to see him at night and during the day. If you want more tips ask :)
Dettifoss is a waterfall in Vatnajökull National Park in Northeast Iceland, and is one of the most powerful waterfall in Europe. However, the Norwegian Sarpefossen has a greater average water flow.
Dettifoss is situated on the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river, which flows from the Vatnajökull glacier and collects water from a large area in Northeast Iceland. The falls are 100 metres (330 ft) wide and have a drop of 45 metres (150 ft) down to the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon. It is the largest waterfall in Iceland in terms of volume discharge, having an average water flow of 193 m3/s.
Dettifoss can be reached by a new tarmac road ( Route 862 , finished in 2011) and an older gravel road (Route 864). On the west bank there are no facilities and the view on the waterfall is somewhat hindered by the waterfall's spray. On the east bank there is an information panel maintained by the staff of Vatnajökull National Park ( Vatnajökulsþjóðgarðu r) and a maintained track to the best viewpoints, as well as public restroom. Dettifoss is located on the Diamond Circle, a popular tourist route around Húsavík and Lake Mývatn in North Iceland.

The Goðafoss (Icelandic: waterfall of the gods or waterfall of the goði) is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. It is located in the Bárðardalur district of North-Central Iceland at the beginning of the Sprengisandur highland road. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters. In the year 999 or 1000 the Lawspeaker Þorgeir Ljósvetningagoði made Christianity the official religion of Iceland. After his conversion it is said that upon returning from the Alþingi, Þorgeir threw his statues of the Norse gods into the waterfall. Þorgeir's story is preserved in Ari Þorgilsson's Íslendingabók. A window in the Cathedral of Akureyri (Akureyrarkirkja) illustrates this story. MS Goðafoss, an Icelandic ship named after the waterfall, was carrying both freight and passengers. It was sunk by a German U-Boat in World War II, resulting in great loss of lives.
Wodospad Godafoss (isl.

Iceland waterfalls : Dettifoss waterfall - youtube.com/watch?v=mbh6K7WHoxY Barnafoss and Hraunfossar - youtube.com/watch?v=zY66CjHLj1Q Glymur waterfall - youtube.com/watch?v=vD_9add-zfIBarnafoss and Hraunfossar waterfalls Drone Aerial Video IcelandWorld&Drone2016-07-03 | Hraunfossar (Borgarfjörður, western Iceland) is a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets streaming over a distance of about 900 metres out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field which flowed from an eruption of one of the volcanoes lying under the glacier Langjökull. The waterfalls pour into the Hvítá river from ledges of less porous rock in the lava. The name hraun comes from the Icelandic word for lava. The Hraunfossar are situated near Húsafell and Reykholt and lava-tube cave Víðgelmir is close by. Literally a stone's throw upstream from Hraunfossar, there is another waterfall called Barnafoss. Its name, the waterfall of the children, comes from an accident which is said to have taken place here in former times. There was a natural bridge over the waterfall and two children from a nearby farm fell to their deaths crossing the river on the bridge. Afterwards, the grief-struck mother had the bridge destroyed.
Barnafoss is also known as Bjarnafoss, which was its previous name. Barnafoss is near Hraunfossar which burst out of Hallmundarhraun which is a great lava plain. Barnafoss is a waterfall in Western Iceland, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) from Reykjavík. Barnafoss is on the river Hvítá in Borgarfjörður. Hraunfossar flows out of a lava field into Hvítá near Barnafoss, creating a stunning scenery.
Many Icelandic folk tales have been associated with Barnafoss, the most famous being about two boys from a nearby farm, Hraunsás. One day, the boys' parents went with their ploughmen to a church. The boys were supposed to stay at home, but as they grew bored they decided to follow their parents. They made a shortcut and crossed a natural stone-bridge that was above the waterfall. But on their way, they felt dizzy and fell into the water and drowned. When their mother found out what had happened, she put a spell on the bridge saying that nobody would ever cross it without drowning himself. A little while later, the bridge was demolished in an earthquake. Another waterfall, Barnafoss, is on the River Skjálfandafljót near the abandoned farm Barnafell in Ljósavatn County. There the river runs in a narrow, and close to 100 metres (330 ft) deep canyon. According to legends, young and brave men jumped across its narrowest parts. During prolonged subzero periods, the spray creates an ice arch across the river above the waterfall and sometimes a rope was strung across the river there to quicken this development. Flocks of sheep were driven over that bridge to graze on Þingey, the island between the two branches of the river.

From there, a short trail lies up the mountain. To the "Namaskard" pass, and from there the trail leads down to the highway and back. Extreme caution must be taken in the high temperature area, as the soil may give.

Iceland Jokulsarlon ( Jökulsárlón ) is a large glacial lake in southeast Iceland, on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. Situated at the head of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, it developed into a lake after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The lake has grown since then at varying rates because of melting of the glaciers. It is now 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) away from the ocean's edge and covers an area of about 18 km2 (6.9 sq mi). It recently became the deepest lake in Iceland, at over 248 metres (814 ft), as glacial retreat extended its boundaries. The size of the lake has increased fourfold since the 1970s. It is considered as one of the natural wonders of Iceland. The lake can be seen from Route 1 between Höfn and Skaftafell. It appears as "a ghostly procession of luminous blue icebergs". Jökulsárlón has been a setting for four Hollywood movies: A View to a Kill, Die Another Day, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Batman Begins, as well as the "reality TV" series Amazing Race. In 1991 Iceland issued a postage stamp, with a face value of 26 kronur, depicting Jökulsárlón. The tongue of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier is a major attraction for tourists.
A coffer dam was constructed near the Glacial River Bridge that spans Jökulsárlón in order to build a row of protective measures of stone boulders to prevent any erosion of the foundation of the pillars of the bridge. This coffer dam enabled the Icelandic road administration to create workable access for the power shovel digger to place the row of stone protective measures, which would also divert the icebergs from hitting the bridge pillars and thus avoid damage to the structure.

Its simple Reykjavik drone video with shots of Hallgrimskirkja Lutheran parish church. Largest Reykjavik iceland church.
Hallgrímskirkja (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈhatlkrimsˌcʰɪrca], church of Hallgrímur) is a Lutheran (Church of Iceland) parish church in Reykjavík, Iceland. At 73 metres (244 ft), it is the largest church in Iceland and the sixth tallest architectural structure in Iceland after Longwave radio mast Hellissandur, the radio masts of the US Navy at Grindavík, Eiðar longwave transmitter and Smáratorg tower. The church is named after the Icelandic poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614 to 1674), author of the Passion Hymns. State Architect Guðjón Samúelsson's design of the church was commissioned in 1937. He is said to have designed it to resemble the basalt lava flows of Iceland's landscape. It took 41 years to build the church. Construction work began in 1945 and ended in 1986, the landmark tower being completed long before the church's actual completion. The crypt beneath the choir was consecrated in 1948, the steeple and wings were completed in 1974, and the nave was consecrated in 1986. Situated in the centre of Reykjavík, it is one of the city's best-known landmarks and is visible throughout the city. It is 1,676 square metres. It is similar in style to the expressionist architecture of Grundtvig's Church of Copenhagen, Denmark, completed in 1940. The church houses a large pipe organ by the German organ builder Johannes Klais of Bonn. It has electronic action, the Pipes being remote from the four manuals and pedal console. There are 102 ranks, 72 stops and 5275 pipes. It is 15 metres tall and weighs 25 tons. Its construction was finished in December 1992. It has been recorded by Christopher Herrick in his Organ Fireworks VII CD and by Mattias Wager on his CD Live at Vatnajökull. The church is also used as an observation tower. An observer can take a lift up to the viewing deck and view Reykjavík and the surrounding mountains. The statue of explorer Leif Eriksson (c. 970 – c. 1020) by Alexander Stirling Calder in front of the church predates its construction. It was a gift from the United States in honor of the 1930 Alþingi Millennial Festival, commemorating the 1000th anniversary of Iceland's parliament at Þingvellir in 930 AD. In 2008, the church underwent a major restoration of the main tower, and was covered in scaffolding. In late 2009, restoration was completed and the scaffolding was removed.
