Knuckles Chaotix - Door Into Summer [SNES SPC700] Pinci 2023-07-23 | I've had this for quite a few years, so I'm finally uploading it on here.I went for the "what if it was released for the SNES" route and used old synths and sound modules that SEGA and its composers had at the time (Roland JD/JV series, Korg 01/W, Yamaha RX5, etc...) including some of the sources for the percussion samples from the original game which are from the RX5 drum machine, only exception to this is the FM brass which is just the one used in the original game, the kick which is also just from the original game and the guitar samples which I made myself a few years ago.

I decided to use samples from many HAL Labs games, except for the guitar chords which were made by me and the lead guitar which is from the Roland JD900, a synthesizer prominently used by Ishikawa, Ando and other composers at HAL.

(Hirokazu Ando seems to have been credited instead of him though...). I had this in my backlog for a couple of months but I didn't feel like uploading it until now. not exactly a KSS/KDL3/KDC arrangement, but still stylized it like a snes kirby song. also I mentioned this when I showed it in twitter but kirby's adventure's aesthetics (both artwork and in-game art/sprites) give me a bit of japanese funk/pop vibes so I went for an instrumentation that would kinda fit that genre while still being faithful to the original

I would have loved to port this using the original samples but I'd have to downsample them heavily so they fit in ARAM and the song would sound really ugly and muddy.
