Very small and compact with very few parts needed to actually make it work. From the Depths Testing - Modules and hover turrets SnideMeister 2016-02-11 | Been testing things in From the Depths once again and testing some things I haven't tried before. I love the idea of modules and easy to attach and change weapon systems, storage, resource collection and various other things.My biggest problem with this was that when I started... I didn't stop. I continued building different things that could work. Some didn't so weren't in the video.These turrets do have their drawbacks in that defending them can be tricky as the spin blocks and explosive parts are quite exposed. Take this into consideration when trying it yourself!This is a little different from what I normally do and was made while preparing for a campaign. This happens to be the time of year (after Christmas) where contracts end, job searched begin and the work schedule increases (as people want to be given a new contract). Even so I want to do something about my lack of FTD. So I have a few ideas and I'll post a little here and some on the forums too.1: Start a campaign, a rather big one but I'd like to do it if people are interested. I'd also like to run the quick builds along side it so that people can suggest craft to build, I build them in a quick build episode and then use them in the campaign. This would separate the building and the campaign so people can pick and choose what they want to see.2: The battle arena VS episodes need a rework to allow me to get more out. When creating them I often spend some time looking up and researching the craft that I am making the video on then have several attempts recording a decent review before putting it in a battle. It also takes time to decide which vessel fights which to try and make a fight look good. I will often have several takes if one craft blows up instantly or too quickly. I'll post a bit more information on the forums but the basics are:(a.) Splitting crafts into set resource sized groups e.g. 0k to 50k(b.) Giving a short introduction to BOTH crafts similar to that of a boxing match or robot wars (if anyone has seen that).(c.) Give people a win loss record and show who won/lost against who thus allowing me to see who has fought who and over time, which match-ups could be cool.(d.) Having a design group that just goes over the aesthetics of larger crafts that are too large to battle on my laptop.Of course these are but a few of the ideas but I'll post more later.See you next time! :D
