In this video I toured RatRig to see how they design, test, and ship the largest and fastest coreXY kit printers on the market from their workshop in Faro, Portugal.
Their latest printers are pushing the boundaries of size and speed, featuring a sturdy frame, high-end components, and a simplified user experience compared to Voron printers. The V-Core 4 and the new Disrupt Engineering product line also support IDEX print modes.
And who doesn't love the adorable v-chonk, a small printer that you can build yourself from spare and printed parts.

It's refreshing to see a company that is making a modular, upgradable, and reparable design. While most other manufacturers are going further down the path of disposable tech that will be broken or obsolete in 2 years, PRUSA is adapting their philosophy of long term usage and maintainability to an enclosed coreXY platform. It's great to have options like this on the market!

In this video we will be building the Voron Trident kit from LDO Motors. It is an open source 3D printer that can be a good alternative to the Bambu Lab P1P, P1S, X1C. It is also a good alternative to the Creality K1 K1C K1 SE and K1 Max. While it isn't as fast or as quick to set up, it is much more moddable and upgradable, and runs Klipper, and uses a full set of high quality parts.

This is a detailed look at Z banding results after printing single colored test towers on the K2 Plus, which Creality provided for testing and review. I considered printing a multicolor version, but it would have taken over 100 hrs and required over 3kg of filament. Multicolor filament waste on AMS style systems is pretty extreme, which might be a topic for another video.

In this video I document my progress towards building a parallel 3D printing platform that can use multiple printheads to work on a single print. The machine uses a polar printhead arrangement to avoid issues with path planning and collisions. It can also continuously spin in one direction it does not need to repeatedly change directions, reducing wear, and negating the downsides of having a massive bed. With twice as many printheads as an IDEX machine, it should be able to print four times faster than anything else on the market.
