In the early morning hours of 16 January 2000, firefighters responded to a call on the outskirts of Billings, MT. The fire, which seemed to have been intentionally started in a gravel parking lot near the MetraPark Arena, had engulfed a vehicle within minutes of the 3:32 AM call being placed to emergency dispatchers.
During the process of extinguishing the fire, firefighters had to force open the trunk of the burning vehicle, a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera. When firefighters looked inside, they were shocked to find the body of a local resident, whose distinguishing features had been burned away in the short-lived-yet-powerful blaze...

Throughout 1966 and 1967, weird encounters were reported all throughout the region of West Virginia surrounding Point Pleasant. These ranged from sightings of bright lights in the sky to more direct encounters with strange beings.
Journalists attempted to make sense of the endless barrage of sightings, which seemed to draw closer and closer to Point Pleasant throughout 1967. But when it all culminated in the collapse of the town's Silver Bridge in December of that year, resulting in 46 deaths, people began to question if what they had seen was a dark omen...

On 15 April 2005, Ray Gricar called into his office and took a half-day off of work. The 59-year-old Ohio native worked as the District Attorney for Pennsylvania's Centre County, and despite having plenty to do that Friday, nobody thought twice about the esteemed prosecutor taking time off of work, as he had been complaining of fatigue for weeks.
That evening, Ray would fail to contact his girlfriend, Patty Fornicola, who he lived and worked with. She called 911 at approximately 11:30 PM, resulting in a desperate search for any sign of Ray or his vehicle...

In the early morning hours of 8 December 2000, Trevor Deely was walking back to his flat in Dublin's Ballsbridge neighborhood after attending an office Christmas party.
CCTV footage would capture 22-year-old Trevor briefly stopping by his workplace - the Bank of Ireland Asset Management building along Leeson Street - and then again a short time later near the Baggot Street Bridge. However, in both pieces of footage, a suspicious man in dark clothing can be seen; in the last bit of footage, he appears to be following Trevor...

At approximately 9:40 AM on the morning of 20 July 1995, 45-year-old Berlean Williams called 911. In a rather-unaffected voice, she told the dispatcher that her niece and adopted daughter, 3-year-old Lenoria Jones, was missing, having disappeared from a Target in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma, Washington.
Despite searching the surrounding area for several hours, police were unable to locate any trace of the missing girl. As you'd expect, they'd begin to question the woman who'd reported the girl missing, but this would only create more questions than answers...

On the evening of 19 February 2005, Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone Jr. met up with some friends along Philadelphia's South Street. There, at a bar called Abilene, they hung out for a bit and watched a live band, then reportedly left in a good mood at about 11:45 PM.
The following morning, no trace of either Danielle nor Richard could be found. Attempts to find them, as well as Richard's 2001 Dodge Dakota, have proven unsuccessful over the years. While there is no evidence pointing to their current whereabouts - nor their continued existence following the night of their disappearance - the FBI publicly suspected that the two had been targeted for a hit...

On the evening of 27 January 2017, dispatchers in Kitsap County, Washington received a 911 call from 16-year-old Hunter Schaap. In the call, which lasted less than a minute, the teen pleaded with authorities to rush to the scene.
By the time authorities arrived, the home that Hunter lived in with his family was engulfed in flame. On 4 October 2019, an explosion rocked a home on Market Street in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, a small town of not-quite 6,000 residents. A woman, 34-year-old Shanna Carlson, was killed in the blast and ensuing fire. The cause was an unidentified explosive device, which exploded with such force that Shanna had to be identified by a tattoo on her leg.
While looking into that story (of which, sadly, not much information can be found) we ended up coming upon a far wider-reaching and more terrifying story: a potential serial bomber terrorizing families throughout Pennsylvania...
NOTE: In the time since this episode was put together, an arrest in the Kelayres incident has taken place. 31-year-old Ladell Emery Hannon, a police officer in Hazleton City, was charged with attempted homicide and is awaiting trial at the time of this publishing.

Between April and May of 1992, a series of shooting deaths took place in Midwest shops, located intermittently along Interstate 70. Four of the victims - Robin Fuldauer, Patricia Smith, Nancy Kitzmiller, and Sarah Blessing - were young brunettes. The other two - Patricia Magers and Michael "Mick" McCown - appeared to be outliers.
For years, investigators have struggled to determine why the offender committed these crimes, with robbery and sexual assault not believed to be motives. And while the offender hasn't yet been caught, he has been linked to other crimes committed in Texas and Indiana, including a 2001 murder in which the offender was caught on surveillance footage...

Almost exactly two years after the attacks in Cumminsville, Ohio came to an end, a nearly-identical fiend began assaulting and murdering women approximately fifty miles north, in Dayton.
First came the murder of Dona Gilman in November of 1906, followed by the murders of Anna Markowitz and her boyfriend Abe Cohan approximately nine months later. Two more women would meet their fate in January of 1909 - Mary Forschner and Elizabeth Fulhart - before the offender's crimes came to a mysterious end...

On 7 June 2005, the body of William Fenzau was discovered in his Miami, Florida home. Having been stabbed dozens of times in the neck, chest, back, and arms, investigators initially theorized that more than one killer had been involved in the vicious attack.
As detectives got to work trying to track down William's killer(s), producers and cameramen from A&E's "The First 48" followed closely. The program would end up covering the vast cast of characters that had come into William's life in the months before his death - many of whom were prominent figures in Miami's illicit methamphetamine market - but answers remain out-of-reach nearly two decades later...

On the afternoon of 5 September 2012, an attack took place just off of the Route Forestière Domaniale de la Combe d'Ire, a quiet mountain road in southeastern France, near Lake Annecy. The attack claimed the lives of four people - Saad al-Hilli, his wife Iqbal al-Hilli, her mother Suhaila al-Allaf, and French cyclist Sylvain Mollier - and left the al-Hilli's two young daughters traumatized.
In the years since, investigators have probed the victims' backgrounds in hope of finding a cause, but have been left empty-handed. The working theory is that the culprit was a "lone psychopath" who committed the crime for no real reason...

In a town that boasted less than two homicides in collective memory, a sudden bizarre string of crimes that year left residents shaken. First, a 65-year-old woman had been shot in the head and killed in her own garage. Then, in September, a series of small explosions known as the Speedway Bombings rocked the town for a full week, injuring two people and leaving everyone a bit twitchy.
However, these incidents were nothing compared to the horrific murders of four Speedway teenagers working at a fast-food restaurant called Burger Chef on November 17, 1978. The subsequent botched police investigation has made the case one of the most notorious unsolved murders in Indianapolis history, and now, 40 years later, police are still looking for answers…

On 19 July 2005, Private First Class LaVena Lynn Johnson was found dead in a contractor’s tent on an Army base in Balad, Iraq. The Army officially ruled her death a suicide, but when her father, Dr. John Johnson, saw LaVena’s body and spoke with the doctor who performed her autopsy, something didn’t quite add up. He started asking questions.
What followed were years of administrative red tape and agonizing heartache for the Johnson family. Despite everything, Johnson refused to take the Army’s flaccid excuses at face value, and he wasn’t going to stop until he discovered the truth...

Using the name "Fallen Angel," this mysterious group or individual sent two letters - one without a destination and the other addressed to the White House - which demanded an end to upcoming trucking regulations. Included in the two envelopes were sealed vials containing ricin, a dangerous poison created from castor beans.
Months later, trace amounts of ricin would be found in the Washington D.C. mailroom of the Senate Majority Leader, and many believed "Fallen Angel" to be responsible. However, whoever they were, their identity and true motive remains unknown to this day...

Dubbed “the Cleveland Torso Killer,” “the Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run,” and less commonly “The Headhunter,” the murderer was known for expertly decapitating and dismembering his victims before dumping their body parts in various areas around Cleveland’s eastside.
As Cleveland’s Public Safety Director, famed Prohibition-era detective Eliot Ness drove an exhaustive investigation during which over 5000 people were interviewed. Though he was sure he found the person responsible, he never made an arrest. Eighty years later, the case remains officially unsolved...
