Halo Orchestral Recreations With Chill Guitar, Vol. I Trey J. mx 2020-07-23 | This is a musical case-study of some of my favorite tracks of the original trilogy. All pieces transcribed by ear and programmed from scratch. I attempted to match the original tempo of each piece while also trying to accurately recreate the 'flow' of each piece. Honestly, wasn't a huge fan of the mix in certain sections and the realism drops off occasionally. Proud of prologue tho - actually added in the breaths before the brass if you listen close. I also tried to throw in some improvised solo sections - although I think I started fighting with the melody on top with hindsight. I do love that tone though. No amp at all, just DI with a lot of sauce added so my damn pickups won't obliterate the upper mids. I included the piano roll in a couple sections, not sure if I'll keep that for the future or not - comment below if you care to see more "under the hood" type stuff in my videos. Frozen II The Flood - Orchestral Cover (Christophe Beck) Trey J. mx 2020-04-05 | Christophe Beck's music has some serious swagger behind it and the guy is simply one of the best composers working today. He's actually one of the catalysts for me to pursue a career in film music with his original Frozen score back in 2013. F2's, however - is one of my favorite Disney scores of all time - (second to maybe Treasure Planet). So - with all this time I have now due to shelter in place, I wanted to pay tribute to this franchise and him for bringing me such inspiration over the years.The Flood is quickly becoming one of my favorite classical cues of the past decade and I had to break it down for myself as a case study to see why. I did my best to recreate it as accurate to the original as possible, down to following the exact tempo and dynamics. Either way, it's a cool track and it sounds like they're headed in the right direction rhythm wise. It sounds like a hybrid between the '343 Modern Halo Sound' and the 'Bungie Classical Halo Sound'.
