Speaker Sensitivity Explained - 4-ohm/2.83V is Not a Trick Like Robert Harley Claims (Ep:55) soundstagenetwork 2023-02-21 | In the February 2023 issue of The Absolute Sound, editor Robert Harley wrote an article called “Lies, Damn Lies, and Speaker-Sensitivity Specs.” In it, he gives what SoundStage! founder Doug Schneider believes is some pretty questionable information about speaker-sensitivity specifications. Harley even goes so far as to say that a “4-ohm/2.83V” specification is a “trick.” As Doug explains in this video, it’s not only not a trick, using 2.83V as the input signal is the correct way to conduct speaker-sensitivity measurements.
