Mr. Tuff is a platforming game for the SNES that was cancelled in 1994 due to its original publisher Ocean Software running into financial difficulties. It was later licensed and released in 2023 by the Retro Room, a small indie publisher. Taking place in the future of 2008, humanity has left a heavily polluted Earth in search of a more habitable planet, leaving behind the robots they built, who then quickly established their own society. A small group of military robots later took power and established a brutal totalitarian regime. Mr Tuff, a humble demolition robot, takes it upon himself to rebel against the regime and free all the robots enslaved by them.

Monster in My Pocket is a licensed beat 'em up by Konami that's part of the multimedia franchise of the same name. This game follows Vampire and Monster, the franchise's versions of Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster, as they stop the villainous Warlock from taking over the world. As all the characters are pocket-sized, you get to play in various levels such as a home kitchen, a garden, house hallways, and eventually a construction site.
DreamYao ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/DreamYao ) for this run saves about 35 seconds over the previous two player run thanks to rigorous lag management and optimization. A lot of this is done by letting one player die or be offscreen to reduce lag.

Yume Nikki (ゆめにっき, lit. Dream Diary) is a surrealistic adventure game by indie Japanese developer Kikiyama. The game was created using RPG Maker 2003, but has few role-playing game (RPG) elements. Players explore the dreams of a hikikomori character named Madotsuki (窓付き, lit. windowed). The initial version of the game was released on June 26, 2004, with subsequent updates over time, the last occurring in 2007.
This run by poco_cpp ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/poco_cpp ) extensively utilizes a glitch involving a desk chair to allow Madotsuki to move at 8 times her normal speed, allowing the 24 effects to be collected in record time.
There is also an alternate YouTube stream ( youtu.be/Fe8JCzo7n90 ) featuring Japanese commentary by the author.

Mario Bros. is a platformer and the second game to star Nintendo's mascot Mario. It also introduces Mario's brother Luigi and the idea of their occupations as plumbers. With one or two players, the objective is to clear the underground levels of enemies that are coming out of the pipes. This is done by hitting the platform they're on from below to flip them over, where they then can be kicked off into the water.
For this run, Spikestuff ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Spikestuff ) chooses to play only as Mario and cleans the pipes and sewers until the game starts looping, which is after 18 phrases, doing so in record time.

Mario and Luigi, the best plumbers in the world, have a real job on their hands. A host of characters have taken over the sewers, and the brothers must clear them out of the pipes.
The platform puzzle which first introduced Luigi to the world has both single and multiplayer action with two differing game types. Crabs, turtles and fighter flies must be cleared out by jumping underneath the platform they're on, then kicking them away. Each level is cleared when all of the enemies are defeated.
This time around, Spikestuff ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Spikestuff ) plays on the American version, as it has fewer phases and also has a pause bug not present in the European version, which allows Mario and Luigi to pass through floors. This is especially useful in the Test Your Skill stages, and allows for a faster completion of them. Like in the European version, the Bros.' potential for both hilarious antics and impressive teamwork is nicely demonstrated here.

Shienryu is a shoot-em-up developed by Warashi for the Saturn released in 1997. The spiritual successor to Daioh, it features much of the same mechanics; however, it also features a hidden multiplier mode provided you have no lives remaining and are using the missiles as the main weapon. Also new are the so-called LED items, which randomly drop from any ground or flying enemy that can hit the ground.
PearlASE ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/PearlASE ) masterfully demonstrates the hidden multipler mechanism, obtaining a total score of 156,391,150 points whilst not abusing an infinite scoring pattern on the final boss, as it doesn't have a timeout mechanic. (松村邦洋伝 最強の歴史をぬりかえろ!, The Story of Kunihiro Matsumura: Rewriting the History of the Strongest!) is a spoof fighting game that was released only in Japan. The game stars '90s Japanese comedian and impressionist Kunihiro Matsumura as he travels Japan as a karateka to cement himself as the strongest ever in history by fighting various criminals and martial artists, who are portrayed by other Japanese comedians. Unusually for a fighting game, it is quite dialogue heavy so it can represent each comedian's forte and niche.

Madagascar: Operation Penguin is a licensed video game spin-off of the animated movie Madagascar. As the game progresses, the animals develop new skills to help them explore the island, such as the stealth crawl, the sneeze jump, and the claw climb.
The game also features the ability to switch between up to four characters at any time. This enables a host of new routes and tricks like rapidly switching characters to prevent damage knockback and enable a triple jump.

The Game Boy Color version, compared to the other versions, is much simpler and lacks many of the minigames the other versions have. While there are action sequences, it is very dialogue driven and consists mostly of traveling from one place to another.

Four players control vehicles known as "Dodgems" that are dropped into huge bowl-shaped arenas and are tasked with fighting for a puck, grabbing it, and launching it into a goal that moves around the arena. It is an adaptation of the game CHAIN SHOT, which was originally developed by Kuniaki "Morisuke" Moribe for the FM-7 and FM-8 personal computers. Quickchange is an arcade-style game for the Commodore 64 that was published in the December 1985 issue of the Compute's! Gazette. On a grid filled with red blocks and a hazardous moving black blocks, the objective is to flip all the blocks over to a different color by moving over them. Stepping back onto the changed blocks changes them back to red. "Missing Pieces" plays like "Flip Flop", but with certain blocks replaced with pits that you can fall into. keylie ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/keylie ) and Del improve the previous TAS by 14.45 seconds in in-game time, thanks to better optimisation. Please read the authors' comments for more details. The TAS is played in the game's speedrun mode, which adds a timer and drastically shortens room transitions. It is otherwise identical to the base game.

Kaboom! is an arcade-style game that was developed by Activision for the Atari 2600. It borrows a few gameplay elements from the Atari arcade game Avalanche, but focuses on having to catch items with only one paddle instead of a column of paddles. In Kaboom!, a mad bomber is terrorizing the place by throwing bombs everywhere, and you have to foil his attempts by catching his bombs with a single bucket of water that will put out the fuses of each bomb when caught. If you miss too many bombs, the game is over.
For this run, DrD2k9 ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/DrD2k9 ) makes use of an automated script and the Atari 2600 paddle controller to reach the maximum score of 999,999 as fast as possible.

Cloak of Darkness is a text adventure game that was created by Roger Firth as a sort of testing game for various interactive fiction engines and toolkits. Because of that, it is very short and has been ported to various platforms, including IBM PCs and the ZX Spectrum. The game starts you off in an empty and dark opera house. The titular Cloak of Darkness is present inside this opera house, but its location isn't specified. The conditions on winning the game depend on how much you fumble about in the opera house.
In this run, CloakTheLurker ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/CloakTheLurker ) plays a version of the game that uses "The Quill" engine and finds a note that tells him he won in record time.

Kablam! is an arcade-style game for the Commodore 64 that was published in the January 1985 issue of the Compute's! Gazette. What the article for the game describes as a "prankster" is throwing lit firecrackers off a building into the street for no apparent reason. You must catch the firecrackers using a bucket of water that will put them out on contact. Miss three firecrackers and the game is over.
nymx ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/nymx ) for this run achieves the maximum score possible before the mad bomber moves too fast for the controls to keep up with.

Tekken Advance is a spin-off fighting game in the Tekken series for the Game Boy Advance. While it is not considered canon to the Tekken storyline, it follows the events of Tekken 3 and includes most of the characters. The overall gameplay has been simplified to accommodate for the console's limited number of buttons and lacks certain moves such as side and back throws. To make up for that, it features new stun mechanics.
This run by Spikestuff ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Spikestuff ) and AKheon ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/AKheon ) improves on the previous run by 37 frames. While it looks like a five second loss, that is due to emulation differences and the inclusion of the boot up screen that the previous run didn't have.
We also have a secondary movie file attached below, aiming for in-game time and defeating Heihachi as soon as possible.

Finding Nemo is a licensed game that is based on the animated Pixar movie of the same name. It generally follows the plot of the movie beat for beat with certain scenes turned into much longer levels for the sake of the game. Unlike the GameCube and PlayStation 2 versions of the game, you unfortunately do not get to play as Dory.
While it may not look like much of an improvement when compared to the previous run, this TAS from Odongdong ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Odongdong ) and Alyosha ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Alyosha ) actually saves nearly 20 seconds of game time when taking the boot screen and emulation differences into account. This is thanks to the usage of new strategies that have been discovered by real-time speedrunners ever since the previous TAS was last published.

Fighting Street is a port of the classic fighting game Street Fighter for the PC Engine CD/TurboGrafx-CD. It is a generally faithful port of the arcade original with a few tiny differences in the gameplay mechanics. The minigames are retained and all ten opponents are available to fight. As with many games at the time that used CD technology, the large amount of disc space is filled with CD-quality song recordings and soundbites that wouldn't fit in a standard cartridge.

Air 2 is a ROM hack of Super Mario Bros. by U1 and a revision of the ROM hack Air, which was also created by the same author. It is a puzzle-oriented ROM hack which requires knowledge of Super Mario Bros. glitches in order to solve. What makes Air 2 different from Air is that it lacks the infinite jumps feature Air had and all hidden blocks are marked at the start.
Compared to the previous run, Asumeh ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Asumeh ) decides to go for pure speed and completion time instead of demonstrating what the hack has to offer, using clipping glitches to bypass intended solutions and save almost two minutes of game time.
