Q: You always seem to have several projects moving at once. How do you decide what comes next?

SK: I don’t always decide immediately. Sometimes I have five or six ideas sitting in front of me, all pulling in different directions. I’ve learned not to force it. I can make schedules and plans, but creativity doesn’t always care about the calendar.

Usually I wait for that connection — the moment when one particular song, sound or idea suddenly feels alive to me again. Once I feel that, I follow it.

Right now there’s a lot on the table. New music, new collaborations, things I want to revisit, and a few surprises I’m keeping to myself for the moment.

So what comes next?

I don’t know yet. But, I’m listening. 🎧

Funky Electronic Romance From Tokyo to Los Angeles — a collaboration years in the making has finally arrived. Artist Slim Khezri ventures into J-Pop for the very first time in a new collaboration with Japanese electronic duo ACHIKOCHI (あちこち) and Okinawa-based voice-over artist and vocalist Fumiko Ongaku.

Overseeing the project as writer, composer, arranger, and programmer, Slim Khezri produced nine original tracks for the release. ACHIKOCHI handled mixing duties, while Fumiko Ongaku delivered lead vocals throughout the project — marking her very first lead vocal production following her voice-over work.

The debut single, “Watashi ni furete” (私に触れて) — translated in English as “Touch Me” — is out now and available worldwide, with additional singles and remixes set to follow throughout the year. A full-length album is scheduled for release later this year.

Thinking he’s about to get lucky, Sir John Falstaff hides inside a laundry basket to escape the furious Ford—only for the basket to be tossed straight into the river.

So how do we make it happen? This basket was custom-built by the Royal Opera House in 1977 and features a hidden trap door that lets Falstaff (played by Craig Colclough / @colcloughopera) sneak in and out during the chaos of Act II. While the basket is dragged across the stage—and eventually dumped into the “river”—Craig has already slipped away through a concealed escape hatch in the set.

And that big splash at the end? That’s the handiwork of our backstage crew 😉—just one more BTS trick that keeps the comedy flowing at LA Opera. Come see the magic (and the mischief) live in Falstaff! 🎭
