This wouldn't be possible with the standard VGA controller since the board doesn't have enough RAM to store two frames at that resolution.
Instead I'm using the VGA Direct controller to render each line on the fly as the signal is output to the monitor. This removes the need for two huge bitmap buffers so the resolution is now only limited by the maximum pixel clock of the hardware.

To secure the PCB to the case you will need five M2.5x6mm bolts and nuts. The case was designed in OpenSCAD and positions, sizes and tolerances can be tweaked easily in there if necessary.
* The sizes and positions of the various holes are defined at the top of the file and should be fairly self explanatory. * Longer than 6mm M2.5 bolts can be used if you increase "UnderBoardGap" in the SCAD file to compensate. * By default the design has a large gap for the CAT programmer to attach on the right hand side of the board. If you don't use this and wish to remove the hole, you can set EnableCAT to zero * Currently the lid fits quite snugly to the case. If you want a looser fit, you can tweak LidRunnerExpansion and LidRunnerTopExpansion.
Music: purple-planet.comCerberus 2100 80 column modeMovie Vertigo2024-05-07 | This is a quick video to demonstrate my 80 column extension to the Cerberus 2100's video system.
By default, the system only supports a 40x30 text mode. I have rewritten the logic for the 2 video CPLDs to not only support a new 80x25 text mode, but also to enable switching resolution on the fly without having to reprogram the chips.
I have also added support to BBC BASIC for the new mode, including the addition of the MODE command to enable dynamic resolution switching.
At the BASIC prompt, typing "MODE 1" will select 80 column mode, and typing "MODE 0" will switch back to 40 column mode.
Other software can easily be extended to make use of graphics mode switching. Writing a value of 1 to 0xFFF9 will select 80 column mode, and writing a value of 0 will revert to 40 column mode.

0:00 Is it really true that girls are better suited to space than boys? 0:25 How do you tell if it's night or day on the international space station? 1:02 Would you be happy to live in space for the rest of your life if you were told to? 1:28 What are your thoughts about space travel in the future for mankind? 2:05 In the future will we be able to take holidays to the international space station? 2:31 Do you think living organisms will ever be found in space, and if so what could they be? 3:00 Do you get dizzy in space when you are not moving? Or does the lack of gravity mean that you do not get dizzy? 3:26 Does the ISS shake when a Soyuz spacecraft docks? 3:42 I know we can measure gravity, but what is gravity? 4:12 What is the furthest distance a human has travelled away from planet Earth? 4:39 What would happen if you played on a swing in space? 5:02 What is the most amazing thing you have seen on earth from the space station?Bad Apple, but its a Mandelbrot zoomMovie Vertigo2023-10-17 | Generated using my own C++ Mandelbrot engine.

It's written in heavily optimised, handcrafted ARM code and should run on any RISC OS machine, from an original Archimedes to a Risc PC. It even runs on a Raspberry Pi with RISC OS 5.28 installed!

It supports both Archimedes legacy screen modes and Risc PC mode descriptors, so you can select any resolution that your monitor and computer support, as long as you have enough video memory for 2 display buffers in that screen mode.
Music: https://generative.fm - Alex Bainter / CC BYSt Bees, the Isle of Man, and the curvature of the EarthMovie Vertigo2023-08-31 | On the West coast of England, in the Lake District, is the village of St. Bees. From here, on a clear day, you can look out across the ocean and see the Isle of Man, approximately 50 kilometres away.
Just to the north-west of the village is a coastal walk up a hill, and from there it is possible to view the Isle of Man at many different elevations as you climb to the summit.
The path rises to about 62 metres above sea level, and as you ascend something interesting can be observed.
You'll begin to notice that, at low elevation, much of the Isle of Man is obscured by the curve of the Earth, but as you steadily climb higher, the obstruction caused by the curve diminishes, and more of the island comes into view.
Animating a sequence of photographs, taken from the walk, clearly demonstrates how the curvature of the Earth affects the visibility of the Isle of Man at various elevations.

The display is made up of 4 WS2812 panels, driven by an ESP32 microcontroller, and the video is being streamed via Bluetooth.
The software on the phone is a web page viewed in Chrome, where Javascript is fetching images from the camera, scaling them down, and encoding them as RGB565 data. This data is then sent over to the ESP32 via a Bluetooth Low Energy connection.

I'm driving the panels using an ESP32 microcontroller and the video is being sent via Bluetooth from a nearby computer, which scales it down to the appropriate size, encodes it into an RGB565 data stream, then sends it to the ESP32.
The web Bluetooth API is used to send the data from a browser, so it's not tied to a particular platform and can send data from many different types of device.

At first glance, the model looks just like the iconic Steve we all know and love. But watch closely as we move it around. Something seems... off. That's because this Steve isn't what it seems. The head is actually a concave mask that's playing tricks on your brain. The illusion works because our brains are wired to perceive faces as being convex. When we see a concave mask of a face, our brains try to correct the image and make it appear convex, which creates the illusion.
