Rival Boss: vs Infinite [Full] - SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS Fanmade Concept Theme

[taxisaladTV] 2024-11-30 | I was fully expecting Shadow Generations to have rival bosses like the original Sonic portion of the game, but after seeing they were absent and that one of the characters I thought would be one of the rival fights in question be relegated to just a cutscene, I decided to make concept themes for these hypothetical boss fights.

I like the idea of Shadow fighting Infinite, remembering how he was bested during their second encounter, and now fights so he can prove to himself that he could beat Infinite, even when powered by the Phantom Ruby, if he simply never underestimated him.
There could be a back and forth between them, with Infinite bringing up how the only friends he had were killed by Shadow, and the hedgehog expresses disappointment in himself for having brought things to that severity; he was just overly emotional after seeing Eggman come so close to conquering the world.
I like the idea of the fight starting at the Mystic Jungle fight that Sonic had in Forces (since that's where the two first met), and then for phase 2 Infinite uses the Phantom Ruby to change the scenery similarly to the Radical Highway segments, transitioning to Metropolis Zone.
An idea I always thought Forces should've done was forced Virtual Reality segments to naturally inject higher difficulty into the encounter. Hell, there could even be some asset reuse from Sunset Heights and I don't think anybody would complain.
Infinite could maybe start conjuring doubles of Metal Sonic, Chaos and even Shadow himself (and dare I say Zavok too but who the fuck cares about him lmao) during phase 2.

This is the old music for the second Abbarrus Tunnels area, as the music has already been updated to something of higher quality.

I was directed to use an indie album of Dark Souls-inspired jazz as reference, and it was fun! Not what I'm used to and that resulted in it being more unique. I ended up also using Silent Hill 3 and Half-Life 2 as reference points, specifically with A Stray Child and the creepy radio from each game respectively.
