Marinea (Birthday Present) TolianTiger 2015-12-23 | Her friends called to her from the very depths of the ocean, beckoning her to join them. She watched them from the shore, reluctant to heed their call and take the plunge.One day, after taking her final breath, she dove into the depths her friends call home, and never returned.-----This experiment proved to be quite an interesting journey of audio recording and manipulation (as well as some quirky mixing tricks) to convey a proper "underwater" theme. I'm not sure if I'll ever do another atmospheric track like this, but this was definitely fun to do once. ^^More importantly, this track goes out to a dear friend of mine who seldom dreams of breathing underwater and swimming with dolphins forever. I hope that she not only likes it, but also relives that particular dream every time she closes her eyes and listens to this track. Crows [100 Subscriber Special] TolianTiger 2014-08-29 | Even if the darkness hides them, you can hear their caws pierce through the surreal world around you. You follow their voices to find a way out of this madness, desperate to be guided back to reality. You travel deeper and deeper into their grasp, failing to realize that they are merely luring you in... ...and that they are not crows to begin with.-----This track is a small experiment on audio manipulation, composed for my electronic music class. It consists entirely of sounds that I've recorded in my room. No samples or instruments were used for this one.I'll give a link to the raw sounds below, in case you're interested. Apart from that... Heroes TolianTiger 2014-03-18 | This piece is dedicated to the six heroes of Equestria whom, for no personal gain, risk their very lives to protect us from threats we would dare not imagine. It is the duty they swore into, long before they knew it was their destiny all along. There is nothing to be envied, or desired, in this cruel fate. Yet we look up to them. And as we sleep comfortably in our beds, blissfully unaware of the rising threats, our heroes will face them head on. They will fight for us... ...and fall for us.-----This track may sound a little different than the other three in terms of instrument timbre and mixing. This is because it was made as a homework for my electronic music class, which had a strict deadline and a strict set of requirements, including the DAW we were supposed to use. Hence, a (temporary) switch from FL Studio to Logic Pro, and all kinds of benefits and costs of such a switch.Am I satisfied with the end product? Not really - I know I can do better, especially in a more familiar environment (FL Studio). But am I content with it? Given that it was done in less than 48 hours, yes. It was a good learning experience for me, and I got to experiment with a bunch of new libraries. Plus, in the end, an upload is better than no uploads. And about that... it's been a while hasn't it?Unfortunately, my third year in college proved to be significantly more difficult than the previous years (which was expected to some degree, honestly). I barely find the time and energy to compose anything, but I'm hopeful that this will change over the summer.Anyway, apologies for the rather long description. And just when you think they have depleted all of it, they blast you away with another wave of exuberance, reaching levels of passion you've never seen before.This piece is dedicated to one such pony: The "Afterburner" of the Mane Six.----I have never composed a Techno track before (I don't even listen to Techno), and I'm sure I'm breaking at least half a dozen conventions. But I'm happy with the outcome. This is my most "technically advanced" piece so far, and I hope you guys will enjoy it.I also have to thank my dear friend Jonathan for not only giving me the idea, but also supporting me throughout the process with his suggestions, and even helping me come up with a name for the track. You were actually getting away with it for a while, but now they're on to you, and you have to run for your life.This piece is about having no option but to keep running, even when your effort is futile.----EDIT: 1000 views! YAY!! ^^Second upload to YouTube! But who's counting, right?I'd like you to try and imagine somepony (or someone, if you're into that) dashing through a forest, trying to evade whoever's chasing him. About a minute in, our character is hit by a shockwave. Try to feel the concussion that disorients him, and slowly regain your senses (and balance) to keep running.
