LoudVoice Insights 2026-05-16 | Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, hung upon the cross in terrible agony.

His back was torn by the scourge. Those hands that had healed the sick, and His feet that walked tirelessly to save the lost, were pierced with cruel nails. A crown of thorns wounded His brow, and every breath came with pain.

Yet His greatest suffering was not the nails, but the crushing weight of this world’s sin, and the anguish of being rejected by the very people He came to save.

Betrayed by a disciple, denied by another, mocked, beaten, and condemned as a criminal, the Son of God endured the hatred of humanity. The Creator was treated with malice and cruelty by His own creation.

And in the midst of that agony, Jesus spoke words that reveal the depth of His love: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” Even while they were taking His life, His heart pleaded for their forgiveness.

What love we cannot fathom, that God would die for a race that did not deserve His mercy, for a race that mocked Him, derailed Him, and spat in His face.

As we reflect, we may condemn those who crucified Him, but do we, by our choices today, take His sacrifice lightly? Do we despise His love through the sins and habits that still bind us?

When we truly see what it cost our Creator to save us, one question remains: how can we remain the same?
