Overall, the difficulty is a just bit higher than in the original game, but anyone who completed SM64 can handle this game.I got a new computer so from now I will finally upload videos in 1080p, jay!Fist, we are presented with a Tetris themed stage, so expect lots of block climbing. Shining Stars 3: Sanctuary of the Star Comet Walkthrough - The End drgoku282 2019-12-17 | This is a final bonus level which opens after obtaining all the stars of the game. This features a music test (a bit glitchy so I just left a song which wouldn't make the rest of the video soundless), a bit of insights of the levels and the credits for the hack. Enjoy!Final thoughts:Due real life I couldn't finish this hack as fast as I wished, but I managed to get some time and play a little more in order to complete it. I hope I can be more regular with the uploads but can't make any promises.Because of this extended period of time I don't remember the first half of the hack very well, but overall, this was quite fun to play, the difficulty cure is steeper than in other hacks but still doable for mid to experienced players, or maybe I'm still quite rusty from not playing like in a year, but wallkicks and precision long jumps and triple jumps in small platforms will always have a certain degree of difficulty.Pieordie1 has a lot of experience making songs for the SM64 community so it's not a surprise that this hack has awesome music that fits all moments in the hack, many songs came from Crash, Rayman or Touhou games, I didn't play these games so I didn't get many references made in this hack.On the other side I'm a Kirby fan, so it's always great to see music from these games used, specially from Kirby Triple Deluxe, Queen Sectonia themes are my favorite final boss music ever, and all songs from the battle are present in the hack. For those who didn't know "Sullied Grace" is heard during the introduction of the Star Whomp battle, "Moonstruck Blossom" is the theme of Moonstruck Village of course, and "The World To Win" is the sequence played during the escape phase after beating the final boss. I left Miracle Matter's battle theme from Kirby 64 for this video, which is used as the miniboss theme in this hack. There are other songs used in the hack which you can catch in the video.About the levels, I appreciate the effort put in this hack and I'm specially impressed in some of the ideas used for the courses, like the Tidal Township and Harmonic Hotel. A very nice change from the tons of lave shown in Shining stars 1 and 2. My favorite levels overall were Harmonic Hotel and Heavenly Ascent and the ones that didn't catch my eye like the lot were Crysal Sewers due that climb which is pretty much needed for all the stars of the course and Tsuki Mansion because somehow, I always got lost in that course.Now for the things I feel can be improved, there some areas of the courses were underused and others were overused, for example, in Course 13, the Temperature Tower has most stars and there's nothing outside of the temple, maybe the frozen lake could be used for a star. Another thing I'd loved to see is custom enemies, the second half of the level is abusing Chukyas, Kuromames and Amps mostly so it got old very quickly, but this also has some great moments with regular enemies like the Skeeter Cave in Course 14.Another thing I always like in hacks is that levels are open to exploration and you can get stars by just looking everywhere instead of just hiding stars in impossible places, or where all stars are just climb something and get a star. Also marking secret spots with green stars and warps with some sparks help a lot. I also know that I played the latest version of the hack which have some small tweaks which really made it less tedious and more fun to play.Overall the hack was fun to play but I wouldn't reccomend it to newcomers due the steep difficulty curve, players which aren't used to wallkicks and hard jumps will struggle and get frustrated a lot in later levels, and the first levels would overwhelm them due sheer size.Anyways, the future will bring new things to this saga, currently Pieordie1 is working in a remake of Shining Stars 1 which looks great and I think will also serve as a prequel to the fourth installment of the Shining Stars series, which will continue the story of the Time Machine presented in this hack. Shining Stars 3: Sanctuary of the Star Comet Walkthrough - Final Level: Sanctuary of Space drgoku282 2019-11-17 | After pressing the Switch on Cascade Cliffs and thanks to the help from our Bob-Omb buddy we're on our way to the final boss, I hope Moonstruck Village was enough jumping practice because it's time to get that last stars.This level has 2 stars and the final boss:0:00 Location of the level. 1:43 Under the platform 7/10The first star is clearly visible from the start, but there is no way to get it immediately (I tried everything, trust me), so we just continue through the level. The first tricky section is the corridor with red platforms, you can walk over the ones which have a yellow glow, the other ones are quicksand, then a couple of horizontal wallkick sections and finally a bunch of platforms and a shell which is placed all the way up from the platform, just navigate down and get the star.4:04 Silver Coins 9/10The hardest star of this hack, this time you will need all 8 coins to get a star, and some of them are very tricky to grab, or are just a deathtrap. So, first we get a sneaky coin right behind us in the start of the level, the third coin is after another corridor with red platforms, but these one are actually lava so just do some long jumps to get the coin. About the fourth one, I'm not entirely sure if this is the intended way to get it, since the blue walls are also quicksand and it's easy to get stuck into it if your jump is too low, but if it is too high, you won't collect the coin. The seventh one is in the horizontal wallkick section, if you're not used to control your height you'll struggle to get this coin. Anyways, this is the hardest version of the King Whomp fight I've ever played, you can only stand on the blue sections of the platform, because a third of the stage is lava, the ice third is quicksand and the other third has nothing but a bottomless pit, so the only way to make our way to the Whomp is by pressing the ! Switch and then running towards the boss and ground pound like normal, but this time you need to be careful of not sliding off and also be aware of the timer. Secret Sparkles 6/10A bit more jumping is needed, compared to the first star, difficulty is a little higher due more platforms and the backtrack, where you can easily die. And remember to say no to the #LavaBouncingChallenge.4:29 Fall From Grace 3/10Ironic, it's easier to navigate Hell than Heaven, there are a couple more silver coins around, but only six are needed.7:03 Eternal Path of Flames 4/10The hardest part is actually hitting the second heart, if you fail, you won't have enough health to get to the star.8:21 Heavens? Memes aside, don't use the Mario camera inside the parallel universe. Navigating this place requires some precise jumps, otherwise you'll end on the bottomless pit or in the quicksand. Zora drgoku282 2019-09-01 | It doesn't seem like it, but this is the actual lava course of the hack, a tropical island with a volcano. Lava is used a lot less in this hack probably beacuse it was overused in Shining Stars 2. Quite easier than the previous course, most stars are can be found by just walking around the island. Also, you can walk in most walls of this level, there are a couple shells around so they can be also used for climbing.There are 7 stars in this course:0:00 Location of the course0:20 Storm on the Summit 4/10Just climb to the top to get the star, the box in the back has 10 coins.2:05 Sinking Stars 4/10If you observe carefully the stars, you'll notice that most of them are rotated and only one is facing the right way, that star is the correct one, the other ones are troll stars and will kick you outside of the level without increasing your star counter. The way I get to the warp is easier than the intended way which is taking a right turn when you enter to the volcano cave (2:35), descending a few platforms to get a shell and then ride it back to the warp.3:17 That Green Star Fire Tho 3/10The other box in the area also has a shell, so you can afford to make a mistake and still get the star (if you don't die to lava).4:26 Up and Down on that Lava 4/10Pretty much the same as the first star.6:04 Hit the Switch from the Back 2/10The location of the star was spoiled by my graphic plugin, I think. You can also jump to each blue roof if you won't want to backtrack to the note block.On a side note, the blocks are supposed to turn yellow after you step on them (like in Super Mario Galaxy, I don't remember if they also turn green), but my video plugin didn't want to cooperate. In fact, I tested several plugins but all of them have problems, the ones which show the switch correctly can't do the dissolve effect when Mario uses the vanish cap or when he activates a warp and viceversa. Shining Stars 3: Sanctuary of the Star Comet Walkthrough - S-11 Aquarius Wiggler drgoku282 2019-08-07 | Difficulty: 3/10 for the coins. 8/10 for the rest of the level.The second section of the sanctuary features a section similar to Course 3, this features some silver coins, but this time you have to collect 8 of them, these coins aren't hidden so they're easy to collect.The difficulty ramps on the third section, you must doge Amps and Kuromames (the orbs that spit fire, I recently learned their name) while your jump is a bit restricted, at the end, use the water to heal and go to face the boss.Aquarium Wiggler is harder than it looks, first, the water/ice floor is actually quicksand and will kill you instantly, the Kuromames will burn you and since it's hard to control Mario while he's on fire, you'll pretty likely will end on the quicksand.
