It has A LOT in common with its high-resolution predecessor, the Sony a7R IV. They have exactly the same sensor, so all aspects of image quality (such as dynamic range, rolling shutter, high ISO performance) are the same. However, PixelShift is MUCH more useful now, and you can use the Sony a7RV to create 240-megapixel pictures even when leaves, people or animals move through the frame!Other improvements include 4k/60 video and 8k/24 video (both with a slight crop). Hasselblad X2D 100C review: ULTIMATE MIRRORLESS CAMERA! Tony & Chelsea Northrup 2022-10-10 | Tony Northrup reviews the Hasselblad X2D 100C ($8,200 at http://sdp.io/x2d) mirrorless camera, a 100-megapixel medium format camera with sensor stabilization! The image quality with Hasselblad’s new lenses is really unmatched, which Tony proves by comparing it to the Sony a7R IV (http://sdp.io/a7R4) in the studio. The X2D’s image quality even beats the 240-megapixel PixelShift mode of the a7R IV.However, the Hassleblad’s leaf shutter didn’t perform as expected. With a leaf shutter, the shutter located within the lens, which is different from a traditional focal plane shutter where the shutter is located directly in front of the sensor. According to the specs, this provides a sync speed of up to 1/2000 without using high-speed sync (HSS) flash modes. However, in our testing, exposure from the strobe began to drop at 1/250th. While faster shutter speeds did not show a hard unexposed line like it would have on a focal plane shutter, our ideal sync speed was 1/125, which is worse than most cameras.This is the first Hasselblad X camera with sensor stabilization, and it performed fantastic, offering 100% sharp shots at 3 stops below the reciprocal rule, and some sharp shots down to 2 second handheld exposures. He got back to me and I added his response into the video after recording.In short: Canon seems to be using their patents to block third parties from making lenses for the mirrorless RF mount. It's not uncommon for tech companies to do this; Apple does it so they can charge third parties to connect to their infrastructure. However, I think this is huge problem for Canon users because Chelsea & I built our careers on less expensive third party lenses... and that's true for hundreds of photographers I've known who built their careers using third-party lenses because they simply couldn't afford the expensive L lenses.The fact is, it's not too late. Canon can listen, so please write a comment sharing your feelings and your experiences using third-party lenses. Contact Canon on social media and let them know what you think and how this impacts your feelings on the RF mount.
