VR to @BookishdowntimeAquamarine18 Tarot & Books2024-09-26 | Star Ratings for Books [and my system, which I doubt is very useful but works for me] Heather of @Bookishdowntime made a video about whether or not star ratings for books matter or are useful – check her video out here: youtube.com/watch?v=2Da-ddLQeTg She finished her video asking whether she should come up with a star rating system that she can explain clearly to her viewers... or whether such star rating systems might not be all that useful. This is a really rambling VR that I’ve not really planned out very well. You’ve been warned.
My review system (whole stars for GR, listed in my GR profile) is: 5 Stars -- Fantastic! A lot to love & definitely recommend. 4 Stars -- Great! Really enjoyed it. Would recommend, & would read more from the author. 3 Stars -- Okay! I liked it well enough, I thought it was fine. Might recommend to someone I think might love it. Might have a few reservations or criticisms which a review would make clear. 2 Stars -- Didn't necessarily loathe it, but didn't like it either. Maybe found something good in it, but found more to critique than to like. Possibly problematic (review would detail this if so). 1 Star -- Either horribly written, horribly offensive, or both. Definitely would not recommend, and review will provide specific reasons why that is.
