Nosferato Rescore for The Cue Tube: Stephen Power Stephen Power 2025-02-25 | My entry for the Nosferatu rescore competition for @TheCueTube competition. This is a classic silent horror film and I have chosen to write music that is in keeping with the genre. Mine is a melodramatic score using a lot of traditional instrumentation and a pipe organ. However, I have also used modern percussion in places, to add sound design that would not have been available to the original production. There are even a few notes of an electric cello in one section. I hope you enjoy it. I am available to score for film projects, including those of low/no budgets. THIS IS TOTALLY FALSE. I only used samples and have not used ANY pre-existing music. I composed the whole thing myself and did not resort to using pre-exisiting music (including my own). I paid £15 for incredibly short feedback that called me a cheat. I will not be doing that again!

My intention was to compose music in the style of James Bond movies, particularly of the 1960's and 1970's, which had prominent jazz influenced brass instrumentation. Those films often also had a variety of musical styles in the opening titles and end credits, which I tried to emulate here. I have only used sampled instruments and ones that would be used by the 30 piece orchestra that would record the music for the winning score. I have used ONLY East West Products via the OPUS platform to create the music in this video. Some of the products (not all) are shown in the video. I have used instruments that mainly give vibrating sounds, to create a sense of spring and summer bursting to life with buzzing creatures. I've mixed orchestral instruments, such as contrabassoon and flutter-tongue trumpets with unusual ones such as the Hurdy Gurdy and Hardanger fiddle.
