Back in November of 2021, I wrote this song at the lowest point in my creative confidence, being the first song I wrote sober in 2 years. I felt like Charles Barkley in Space Jam shooting his first free throw after the Monstars took his talent. Feeling as if I had lost not only my skill, but my passion for music as well. I wanted to quit music, and I wanted to quit in life. Unfortunately, these days I feel that this disposition has become commonplace in our generation, many of us frequently feeling out of place. Yet, I remained unyielding, and did not give in to giving up. I created this out of desperation yearning to create again and be comfortable in my own skin as an artist. I have no other choice to continue on this path, I have sown too many seeds, spending hours upon hours laboring and toiling, to give up before the harvest.
Let this song and every song I release after this be a testament of faith in my artistry.
And if this speaks to you and you believe in what I do, share this with every soul you think could benefit from hearing this song. Because I cannot do this alone and would love your help sharing this with the world.
I wouldn’t consider this song to be my best, nor my worst, but a very real reflection of who I am as a human and as an artist in this moment.
I present to you “Da Balance”
Thank you for listening.

lyrics
A riot is a language of the unheard
The Streets on fire
With the blood of the righteous
Peace never finds us
When they resort to violence
I feel the temperature rising
While the children lack guidance
they’re inflating the prices
It’s such a hostile climate
The power we want
Ain’t The power we preach
The power we seek
Ain’t the power of greed
or The power we need
True power fulfills
True power forgives
You’ll find The power within
Is the power that lives
Money grows on trees
When evil takes root
In the ground below
Turning hearts to stone
Where a seed never grows
What reaped is starting to sow
Minds corrupt with hatred
Are entrapped in the matrix
The world is lacking patrons
Loaves and fishes without a savior
We More doctors and less patients
There’s power in hope
There’s power in soul
There’s power in growth
True power evokes
That’s the power I know
True Power fulfills
True power forgives
You’ll find that the power within
Is the power that lives
Hey!
I know What you’ve been looking for
Something that can fill the void
Life is meant to be enjoyed
Hey!
Though you feel like you’re all alone
Many have been down this road before
Countless have failed in the past
You won’t be the first, and you won’t be the last
As the hour approaches
The serpent encroaches upon the gardens
With dollar bills and exquisite contracts
Destroying the earth to grow stock markets
Martyring prophets increasing their profit
Babylon has become so ungodly
Emptying stomachs to fill to their pockets
Even the Romans couldn’t see Rome Falling
‘Cause the power they seek
Is the power of greed
Ain’t the power that feeds
Or the power that leads
Or the power we need
True power is love
True power is trust
True Power’s enough
True power’s in touch
With all of us
Hey!
I know What you’ve been looking for
Something that can fill the void
Life is meant to be enjoyed
Hey!
Though you feel like your all alone
Many have been down this road before
Hey!
I know What you’ve been looking for
Something that can fill the void
Life is meant to be enjoyed
Hey!
Though you feel like your all alone
Many have been down this road before

Lyrics - Which Side You're On
Mama said don't ever get down
Be prepared when the times get hard
You're the man of your house now
Don't you ever let that hate in your heart
just know you are a vessel
And a light in a place that's dark
How Sacred is a temple
If your demons never depart
When we shopped through the windows
We couldn't ever see the sunshine
Through the cracks where the plants grow
Praying to the Lord for some good times
I should've listened to my kinfolk
When they told me that the world is frightening
I guess I'll go where the wind blows
And hope to know when the time is right to
Choose which side you're on (you better choose)
Tell me which side you're on (Hey! Would you tell me)
Choose which side you're on (what if I told ya)
There’s no side at all, yeah.
Yeah, yeah
Let me show you how to get down
In this life love is all we need
You might not understand now
Just know the truth will set you free
I can tell you haven't seen much
I can tell by the way you trust
In the things you haven't seen yet
But Just know there's never Enough to
Choose which side you're on
Tell me which side you're on
Do you know which side you're on
You better choose which side you're on
Draw a line in the sand now
That’s the only way to stand your ground
Never let them fears cast doubt
Intuition never follows the crowd
every dawn is a new day
To cease before the daylight fades
Let the oil burn through the midnight
For all to marvel the light that shines
All along they’ve all been plotting
From the tower as they watch us
Crushing grapes in all their vineyards
The times arrived for every prisoner
To cross the river out of Egypt
As the plague desolates the region,
Mark your doors, and close the steeples
Who will help the camel from its needle?
Choose which side you're on (you better choose)
Tell me which side you're on (Hey! Would you tell me)
Choose which side you're on (what if I told ya)
There’s no side at all, yeah.
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah

Too damn old to live up in my mama's house
I guess I ain't even grown
'til I have a place that I can call my own.
If they check out my soundcloud,
then I can move downtown,
and change up my lifestyle,
and then I could be proud,
when I look in the mirror
and see I'm independent,
then they won't tell me shit,
But I'll just have to wait 'til then.
Chorus
'Til the day that I move out my mama's house.
'cause I'm too old to be living in Mama's House.
I wanna have my own so I can move out my mama's house
cuz once I have enough, I'll be buying my mama's house.
2nd Verse
How could you be so rude,
when people pray for your privilege and kill to be in your shoes,
so you should count your blessings,
so I'mma help out my love ones,
when I make my first million,
'cause my mama ain't raise,
no ungrateful ass children.
But time is up on the lease
so let me help out my mama
I want that worldwide prestige
so I can step with my brothas (Step brothers punchline)
Fuck all them boats and hoes
all we need is each other.
My mom loves me
More than your mom loves you
and I'd really love to think that but I just don't have proof
how come I'm all alone at Christmas time?
Sitting with a family that's nice but isn't even mine
My mama's House is filled with every tantalizing thing
that I've wanted since I was 15
I bet the candles never go out
and it smells really good
and my sister straight chilling like my dad wish he could.
growing up isn't easy when you're not really taught
sitting in a living room as empty as your thoughts
I think that I'mma give her a call,
and leave out, "Hey, when's the next time that I can see my mom"
and if I become famous
I'd hope you really like
a house that's right next to mine
and you can come over and I can come over and...
.
