This is the new Mario Kart DS Waluigi Pinball 3lap World Record with 2 shroom and 1 shroomless Ultra Shortcuts.This run was actually insane. My goal was a mid 1:33 but this is completely crushing my expectations. Like on my former WR, I again got a huge bounce on the 2nd lap shortcut and everything else was really clean. Mario Kart DS Waluigi Pinball Shortcut 3lap 1:35:202 [Former World Record] MKDS1992 2024-05-17 | I finally got it back! This is the new Mario Kart DS Waluigi Pinball 3lap World Record with 3/3 Ultra Shortcuts. It was my 6th successful 3/3 run... on all other runs I failed somewhere and missed the WR. Marisa's former WR was really strong and hard to beat, really well done!I am the 2nd person who ever got a 3/3 and like I said I got it 6 times by now. Marisa got it 3 times. Who will be next?After MKDasher uploaded a video about a possible pause buffer strat on LM shortcut, I also played around with it on WP. Its definitely possible and for some players it might even be easier, but at that point I was so consistent at the SC that the pause buffering strat felt more difficult and thats why I didn´t try it any longer and just got the 3/3 WR without it :)About the run:Lap 1 was pretty good, not much to complain about. The SC setup was a little bit bad, so that I crashed the wall pretty early, but I recognized it immediately and aligned the kart pretty good so that I still had decent speed in the air.Lap 2... well what should I say, its a best know split (bks) and just really all I could have asked for. The bounce was pretty much perfect, insane speed and I was able to save it at the end with the slowfall. I had such a jump a few times before and knew what was coming. I am pretty sure I got a 31:4 on lap 2 before with a bumper hit, but I didn´t know that it is a bks so after I failed the run I didn´t save it lol.Lap 3 was decent as well. Of course I lost quite a lot because I was angled too far left at the landing after the SC and I hesitated at the last corner, but that was just because my nerves kicked in after I got the SC and all I wanted was to not hit the wall at the end.Mario Kart DS will never die! New Ultra Shortcut shroomless soon?? MKDS Waluigi Pinball [TAS] #mariokartds #mkds #マリオカート MKDS1992 2024-04-16 | This is a short demo that the new Mario Kart DS Waluigi Pinball Ultra Shortcut could theoretically be done shroomless. This is a Tool Assisted run (TAS) to show the potential. I got this within a few minutes and didn´t go into more detail. Hopefully the TAS community can develop it further to actually land the shortcut and maybe develop a strategie to make it viable for RTA. Mario Kart DS Waluigi Pinball Shortcut 3lap 1:46:488 [former World Record] MKDS1992 2024-04-15 | MKDS world record on Waluigi Pinball 3lap with 2/3 ultra shortcuts. That the thumbnail is an actual screenshot from the run is still unreal for me. This new shortcut is insane!About the run:Lap 1 was solid but could have been better. Not much to say about it.Lap 2 was pretty bad. I used the mushroom for the SC way to early, so that I just had barely enough boost frames left to make it over the invisible wall and get the distance to land on the road. At around 1:00 I started to shit my pants after realizing that I landed the SC twice xDLap 3 was a complete disaster. I was barely able to hold my ds, my heart was pumping like crazy, I just had to somehow keep it together and finish the run. Mario Kart DS Waluigi Pinball Shortcut fast lap 31:528 [former World Record] MKDS1992 2024-04-13 | New World Record on Waluigi Pinball fast lap.This ultra shortcut was recently discovered and as it turned out to be RTA viable, I had to give it a shot. It saves over 6,5 seconds over the normal way and I guess it could go to a sub 30 someday with a good run. I was way to nervous on lap 2 and 3 to get a good run together to also get the 3lap World Record, but I will keep on trying.This is of course still very improvable. Mario Kart DS - DK Grass 3lap 1:22:196 [World Record] MKDS1992 2022-06-01 | DK Grass (DKG) is a Mario Kart DS Beta track and the unmodified version of the track doesn´t have working collisions for the grass, that’s why I can drive through it. In addition, the respawns don´t work what is the reason that the game freezes when you fall down.Previous World Record by Zach Sterling 1:23:881Apart from Staff Roll, this was the oldest standing MKDS WR set on April 29th, 2009. As I saw the video from Zach again lately, I decided that the run doesn´t deserve to still be a WR in 2022. While grinding I found the new SC that saves quite some time on lap 1 and 2. I can´t jump over to the other site immediately, because I have to get the last key checkpoint which is located at the beginning of this big 180 turn. Thats why I have to turn around, but it still saves a decent amount of time if done right. Its hard enough to play a lap on Delfino Square blind and upside down, but the fact that you also had to blast "Never Gonna Give You Up" through your headphones or speaker made it insane. I could barely hear when I crashed a wall etc. to get some orientation. My final strat was to count how often I have to press left or right to make the turn after I crashed the wall and remember the numbers for all turns. Unfortunately I didn´t get the dock jump on this run... I got it on a few other tries but always ruined the ending afterwards.My team didn´t made it into the finals, thats why this was our final challenge. Anyway I am really satisfied with my results, because I ranked #1 on the final individual leaderboard and got the "Best Karter" award. The whole tournament was so much fun for me and I just can say thank you to all participants and organizers! Mario Kart DS - SNES Choco Island 2 non PRB 48:665 / 15:631 [German Records] MKDS1992 2021-02-13 | My new records on Mario Kart DS SNES Choco Island 2 non PRB 3lap and fast lap. They are currently ranked #11 and #9 worldwide and are german records. This is one of my most hated tracks and my previous times were my worst ranked times on the players page. Probably because I didn´t play the track since 2009^^I am really happy with those times, even if the first lap on my 3lap was pretty bad and the fast lap is only 2 thousandths away from rank 7. Mario Kart DS - GBA Sky Garden non PRB fast lap 21:052 [German Record] MKDS1992 2020-09-05 | My new record on Mario Kart DS GBA Sky Garden non PRB fast lap. It is currently ranked #4 worldwide and german record. I used a completely new strat by snaking before the first shroom and at the end. I played against Matts 20:945 ghost and it looks like the snaking before the first shroom is faster. I am not sure about the ending, but it should be at least as fast as the double hop strat. Let me know what you think in the comments.I ruined a lot of runs that where much better than this one... That’s why it`s impossible to save a ghost and record the run later with Desmume.DK Grass (DKG) is a Mario Kart DS Beta track and the unmodified version of the track doesn´t have working collisions for the grass, that’s why I can drive through it. Previous record was 27:620 by Louis.The big cut all comes from the kart change and the new strat at the shortcut (this glitch shortcut is only possible on the beta version of this track btw). I got the shortcut perfectly at this run, but it´s really difficult and I don´t think that I can get it 3 times in a row for the 3lap record…but I will try ;)The rest of the lap was good but not perfect at all.
