🔄 The itinerary can be reversed depending on whether you want to drive the Cabot Trail counterclockwise vs clockwise.
🛻The dirt road to Cape Clear gets quite rough, so would recommend driving an SUV or truck. If you’re driving a car, there are tour options to get there in a side by side or Jeep.
🏞️ There are many beautiful viewpoints so expect to make lots of stops! There are also many more hikes to choose from for all different levels.
☀️ Summer and early fall are when most things are open. Take into consideration some things will be closed if visiting at other times.
🍁 Cape Breton is known for its beautiful fall foliage, so be sure to book accommodations ahead of time during peak fall colours!
*The Cape Breton Highlands National Park drone footage used in the reel was shot legally with a Parks Canada permit.

Day 1: City Exploring
☕️ Grab a coffee at @littlevictoriescoffee and then explore the beauty of Ottawa through downtown sights like the Rideau Canal, Major’s Hill park, sunset at the Ottawa Locks, and more! There’s plenty of fun neighbourhoods connected to the Rideau Canal like @bywardmarket, @idigelgin, @sparks_street, @centretownottawa, @intheglebe and more!
🍽️ Enjoy dinner @arlo.ottawa, one of Canada’s top 100 restaurants
Day 2: Nature Escape
🍳 Fuel up with brunch at @evoogreekkitchen and then head to Gatineau Park 🌲 There’s plenty to explore in this nature haven, from lakes, trails, lookouts and more. Rent winter and summer equipment at @nomadesduparc.
🌊 Relax and unwind at @nordikspanature_chelsea, North America’s largest spa. My favourite part is the thermal cycle combined with the views!
🍹 End the day at @rabbitholeott for dinner and ask to visit their speakeasy for cocktails.
Day 3: Canadian Wildlife
🦌 Immerse yourself in Canadian wildlife at @parcomega! This is a unique spot in Canada only 40 min from downtown Ottawa. Drive through the park, and Canadian wildlife like deer and elk will come up to your car for carrots. You’ll be able to see everything from bison to bears in this park.
🐺 Stay overnight in their wolf lodges or chalets, where you can come face to face with these incredible creatures with a glass wall between you. This is a truly unique experience that needs to be on your bucket list!

Let’s start with 3 days is NOT enough for this little province. Here’s what I would do if I only had three days. And let me tell you they would be jam packed.
Day 1- Adventure Day ⛵️🦞
Hit the road and stop at whatever excites you. If you come in June you need to pick up fresh strawberries. Find a roadside stand that uses the honour system and enjoy the best strawberries of your life. 🍓
Next, hop from lighthouse to lighthouse and wander down some red dirt roads to see where they take you. You can also kayak around with @outsideexpeditions and see the Island from the water or go for a boat tour with @fiddlingfisherman! Catch some lobster to eat on board with local fiddling music and step dancing as entertainment. 🛥️
Day 2- Beach Day 🌊☀️👙
We’ve got unlimited beaches to pick from so you really can’t go wrong. These photos are from three classics Cavendish, Greenwich and Basin Head. Make sure you pack lots of snacks and sunscreen and soak up the sun all day. Once you’ve gotten your beach fix, fill your bellies with a seafood feed at @bluemusselcafe.
The perfect way to end this Summer day is at @bdrivein taking in two of the latest summer blockbusters. 🎥
Day 3- Discover Charlottetown 🛍️🦪🍷
There is so much to do, see and eat in PEI’s capital city. Hit up the local shops downtown. The city is packed with so many great small businesses. Many are found on Queen street, Victoria Row and Water street.
You could spend a week just eating your way through this city. @cowsicecream is an Island staple that you just can’t miss. 🍦
@sea_rocket_oysters offers a great raw bar with lots of PEI oysters to choose from.
Charlottetown also hosts lots of great festivals. One of my favourites is @discovercharlottetown‘s Island Tides Yoga and Wellness Festival held in June. 🧘
This was so tricky to narrow it down. How would you spend your three days? Let me know what I missed!

1. Book your rental car early! Like, now. We live on an island and there are only so many vehicles to go around.
2. Explore the communities. There are 7 incredible communities living within Gros Morne National Park, each one unique and has lots to offer.
3. Check out the arts and music scene! During the summer and into the fall there are so many music and theatre performances to check out, and many visual artists have open studios you can visit.
4. Watch out for moose! We have a large population of moose in Gros Morne that have a habit of hanging around the roads, especially at dawn and dusk. If you’re driving, keep your eyes open for moose.
5. Give yourself an extra day! Every single person I’ve talked to who visits Gros Morne says “I wish I had more time.” Give yourself the time to let this incredible place sink in.

To my foodies: Don’t miss out on a chance to try some country food with offerings like Char Club or Tuktu Pho @blackheartcafe and an opportunity to visit Canada’s most northerly brewery, @NuBrewCo.
Day 1: Start at the Unikaarvik Visitor Center where you can learn about the history and culture of Nunavut. Chat up the hosts and see what’s happening in town, perhaps there’s a locally produced screening of a movie, festival, or fashion show in town. Grab a map here, and you’ll be ready for a self guided tour of the city. Don’t miss the unique Igloo church, historical buildings like the Hudson’s Bay buildings, sculptures, and murals that make this place so unique.
Day 2: Stretch your legs out and explore some of the wonderful hikes. I suggest trekking around Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park and Road to Nowhere. After dinner head out to Apex, the original settlement before Iqaluit, and where you will find the bow head whale bone arch. For those looking for more adventure, look into tours where you can brave the rapids of local rivers on canoe, or explore the coastline in qajaq ᖃᔭᖅ (or kayak) with guides that can tell you about the history of the original arctic skin boats.
Day 3: For art lovers check out the Nunatta Sunakkutaagit Museum. Today is your last chance to pick up that treasure you had hoped to bring home. Be it hand made mitts, jewelry or carvings and prints, Iqaluit has one of the best selections of hand made pieces curated from all over the territory. One store I love visiting is the Carvings Nunavut Inc. Finally on your way out at the airport, be sure to enjoy the wonderful exhibit of art displayed around every corner and at every gate.”

After years of touring, Kahtleen Edwards returned to her hometown, Ottawa. There, she turned her love for good coffee into her very own business: Quitters Coffee. Her welcoming café has inspired others in the community to start their own foray into the world of beans and beverage, including Andrew Bassett from Little Victories Coffee Roasters. Kathleen finds inspiration in other local success stories such as Dominion City Brewing Co. and Riviera.

Around 82 years passed while the tradition of weaving lay dormant. Debra Sparrow, among other Coast Salish weavers, has since revived these lost traditions.
To this day, Debra, Angela and Janice continue to share their knowledge of Coast Salish weaving and traditions with their community and the world.
Accompanied by other weavers, and with the support of the Vancouver Mural Festival, their work continues to ensure the culture and history of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Tsleil-Waututh Nations will remain ever-present as a reminder of whose land we stand on.
