This Cartoon Animator 5 tutorial shows you how you can create complete 2D Animation scenes even if you are a beginner by using the right animated character creator using Cartoon Animator 4 or Cartoon Animator 5.
In these series you will learn how to rig a character in cartoon animator 4 or 5 Fast by using Pre-Made Characters and Pre-Made Rigs you can customize to make them your own.
Rigging in Cartoon animator 4 or 5 can be a necessary evil, but it doesn't have to be, it's up to you and this video shows the different paths and complexity you can add to your project.
Create your own characters and bring them to live in your 2d cartoons. This video does not cover how to make a cartoon characters, instead I show in a quick animation tutorial how anyone can create animations (and how our students do so) without any drawing skills by using pre-made characters in any version of Cartoon Animator.

TRANSCRIPT
If you do animation, you know how important it is to have backgrounds fast.
I did this one in only 2 days.
Backgrounds you can get from Freepik, Content Store, or even AI.
But what if you need to do a slight adjustment to it?
• Maybe you have a very specific background in mind
• Make Adjustments to a character design
• Or just want to explore your creativity.
Whatever it is, you will need to know how to adjust art to your liking.
How do you know:
• Where to start?
• Which brushes to use from the many available?
• What to use and what settings?
You are watching this video because you might have great ideas in your head, but have problem articulating those ideas into a visual medium.
Join us in this bootcamp where you will learn techniques and methods to retouch photos, combine AI Art, adjust premade stuff, or even start from scratch - fast.
In the end, you will learn how to paint what you see in your head using
PHOTOBASHING - combining photos together to create original paintings. And
SPECIAL BRUSHES - Using them to paint backgrounds fast.
Get support and advice directly from industry Expert, Precia-T. A professional character designer, background creator and art director.
In the next 2 weeks you will learn:
Day 1: how lights and shadows work
Day 2: Color and Texture
Day 3: Thumbnail Backgrounds
Day 4: Grayscale Portraits
Day 5: Portrait painting.
And Day 6: Paint retouching.
Join us in this Digital Painting for Beginners bootcamp.

This 2-part tutorial answers the question:
How can you MASSIVELY INCREASE the chances of having your video found by people on YouTube?
The answer: By uploading content with TITLES and DESCRIPTIONS that People are ALREADY SEARCHING FOR on YouTube and Google.
VIDEOS
Tutorial Part 1: youtu.be/uXZd6C6xK7A
Tutorial Part 2: youtu.be/8RRz_m2R09c
You should know…
There is a chance that people are already looking for your stuff, they just haven’t found you yet!
So how do you know what people are typing on the search bar to find your stories, ideas, or message?
For this you can do a technique called Keyword Research.
And in this tutorial you will learn how to use the FREE KEYWORD PLANNER from Google.
Just follow these 3 steps:
1. Type 1 or 2 keyword phrases that you think people would type into the search bar to look for your video.
2. Get suggestions with actual numbers of what people are looking on the internet.
3. Pick the best keyword phrases and use them to add into:
a) The title of your animation
b) The description
c) The hashtags that you put in the description
d) And, if you haven’t recorded yet, mention those keyword phrases in the animation or video
Do that, and the YouTube algorithm will look in those 3 places, if it finds a match, it will start showing your video on search results for people.
And if people like it and watch more than 40% of your video, YouTube will show your work on more and more search results and suggested videos.
Just remember, the YouTube algorithm takes whatever the user puts in the search bar, and looks for those terms on its library of videos in:
- Title
- Description
- and Content of the video.
Content of the video? Yes. Remember that YouTube now has this engine where it can automatically generate close captions to videos so they can also know what the videos are about. This helps to improve the search results to display for each user.
Enjoy the video!

ArtWarz is a Gamified Platform (under construction) where your art will have the power to defeat monsters, extinguish the plague and save Art Land.
This project will be the result of 3 years of research.
It’s goal will be to find the fastest way for beginners to get results as soon as possible.
The biggest breakthrough we found was that people who learn faster than anyone else is because they have high Visual Intelligence.
So what can people with low visual intelligence do? Well, just like a skinny guy can go to the gym and bulk up, people with low visual skills can go to ArtWarz, exercise their visual intelligence, and then become great artists!
Our goal is to help Newbies become Pros with the help of epic masters from the Industry like
* Miguel Mendez - Concept artist at Ubisoft.
* Dave Greco who worked with Blizzard and Electronic Arts.
* Precia T, a character designer who worked on a Manga for Castlevania
* Hero and Chris Yen, who worked on anime shows like Naruto, One Punch Man, Sword Art Online and many others.
So, pledge this project and help us make ArtWarz come to life.

So, your are stuck at home. You finished everything there was to watch on Netflix. Finished all your video games.
What can you do now? Let me ask you a question.
Have you ever imagined a story inside your head and thought: “Hey… This is something new”
Maybe you remembered something you saw on TV when you were a kid.
You were excited.
Now, years later, maybe you decide to take that fire inside you, and turn it into a story.
And who knows, maybe it could inspire someone else.
What if you could take that idea and give life to it.
What if you could create someone who doesn’t exist yet? Someone who breathes, who is alive.
A Character. Your character.
What if this character lived in a world that nobody knows but you.
A place that until now has been a secret. A secret that is coming out for the world to see.
Each drawing.
Each character.
Each background.
Each shot.
All coming together to create a beautiful story.
An animation you are proud of.
An animation that can inspire and touch people’s lives.
An animation that can make someone laugh. Fall in love. Learn something new.
Maybe that animation gets picked up by people, and maybe they share it.
These are all good signs that you are doing something good. Something people like.
Hey, if you are going to invest hours of hard work doing an animation, why not do something great?
Learning animation is a whole journey, let’s walk it together.

Hi, Mark Diaz here for 2DAnimation101.com, in this video we're going to talk about the importance of consistency. I'm talking about consistency in two levels. One level, the technical level that everybody can see is that you have to be able to replicate one drawing again and again by memory, and each time you put it by memory, it has to look almost the same. It has to be consistent, so that's one type of consistency. Consistency in your drawings. If I draw, for example, a character in profile view, the side view, then if I draw it again, I have to be able to draw exactly the same as I did by memory. Okay? That's one type of consistency.
The other type of consistency I'm talking about, and this is probably the hardest for any beginner, is consistency of habit. That is daily action. A lot of students want to get everything perfect from the get go. Don't do that. Don't be super scared like, "Oh, my drawing is not perfect. My drawing! Agh!" Now, you know you have a framework and you can know that, hey! it's not perfect, but at least I'm tackling, I'm getting 6 of the elements correctly out of the 9, right? Not the 10, the 9. 6 elements I'm getting in okay, so I'm not that bad. All I need to do is focus on those other three elements. Let's say my spacing is wrong, my proportions and my line cleaning, so okay, just work on that little by little, but when I talk about consistency of habit is... Okay, here's the thing. If you're starting from zero and you haven't drawn and this is just a dream. The very first step, the very first thing you need to do is develop a habit of drawing every day. That's it.
Now, if you haven't read... There's this beautiful book by James Clear the book is called "Atomic Habits." I highly recommend it. If you follow his teachings, all you would do is just take a piece of paper, take a pencil and draw for five minutes a day. That's it. Just draw for five minutes. It's a challenge we give in an online training. We give an online class and just draw for five minutes every day for 30 days until that becomes a habit. When it becomes a habit, then you can expand it to maybe 15 minutes every day, and then 30 minutes, and then one hour until you're drawing every day for around one hour at least, right? When you are at that level, it doesn't matter if all your drawings are crap, it doesn't matter. Okay? This is important to understand.
We're not building the skill. We're building the habit. So when I talk about consistency in drawing, that comes later. The first thing is "consistency of action." Doing it every day. If out of seven days, for example, the week has seven days, if out of seven days you keep drawing and drawing for five days a week, that's also good, right? So the first thing you need to do when you're starting is consistency of action. If you don't have the habit, try drawing every day for five minutes. That's it. Don't worry about the quality of your drawings. That comes later. Once you have the habit now you can start to improve using the 9 element framework to... Like for example, yeah, all your drawings are crap, but at least I'm getting very clean lines.
So, what happens if you stick with it, if you have the consistency of action? Okay, this is what happens. Take a look at this drawing. We can see that some things are correct and some things are wrong. For example, the placement is okay, the eyes are where they are supposed to be. The cleaning can be improved a little bit because the tracing is not very good. And also the shading can also improve and a lot of elements. But as you can see also the angles, right? But this is from a student called Basel, and he kept drawing and drawing.
This is the power of consistency of action. Look at what happens. Just pay close attention to this because this change didn't happen from one day to another. It took like two months. Okay, so pay attention to this. This is very important. He started like this and then he was not only drawing faces because it can be boring. He would draw faces, and then bodies, and then references, and then the face again. And then bodies, and then clothes, and then hair, and then references, and then the face again. So it took like two months and look at this.
He started like this and then he kept drawing and drawing and look. Huge improvement. We're still struggling with the proportions, right? Let's see the proportion of this one, for example, it's a little bit long. This one is a little better, but the angle of this one is not very good and actually for the, this is another example. This should be a little bit steeper and in general all of these phases are improving and the eyes woof! the eyes are probably the biggest improvement.
Hi, Mark Diaz for 2DAnimation101.com, in this video, we're going to talk about the last of the elements of a good drawing, which is going to be curves. This is very important to understand because if you're a beginner, you're going to miss out. If you don't know how to calculate or measure how good or bad your curves are. So let's take a simple example.
This is from a student called Puchiko. And as you can see, this is supposed to be an oval, right? But the drawing is looking more like a rhombus, right? So the way we need to fix this is by understanding the curves. So in this case, the actual... The actual drawing should be more like this, right? Not like this, but more like this. So how can you measure or calculate and compare? Because also as we saw in the last lesson, we also noticed that the shading is bad because the top part should be darker and the lower part should be lighter. And we can see the same spectrum. But right now let's focus only on the curves. So let's see another example.
Now, this is the reference we need, right? As you can see, it's not a rhombus, it's rounded. It should be rounded. And this is done by another student. His nickname is Ryu, and as you can see in here we have, this is the reference, and in here we almost got it right, but this curve is a little bit off, just a little bit off. So how do you calculate it?
Okay, here's one way. Let's go back to this example because this is going to be easier to understand it. As you can see, let me go to the reference. In the reference, I see this point right here, right? And what I'm going to do, actually, let me zoom in a little bit. Let me zoom like this. So it's going to be a little bit clearer. Look, what I do is identify the point from which the circle is going to be starting and then identify the second point towards which that curve is going to go, right? And now here's what I do. Something you can do to measure. You put those two lines and then draw a 45 angle line that he's going to cut and then you measure how deep or how soft the curve is by knowing where that line is. So let me maybe in here or something like "what did he just say?".
Let's do the example so we can understand it perfectly. So what I do is I just cut in a 45 degree, right? So I keep cutting and I keep cutting. And as you can see right there, right there, I stop. And as you can see, he's only a little corner, right? And that from that corner. Oh, okay. I understand that I just cut the edge. Let me redo this in here. And as you can see, it's only a little part like this. And then the circle starts around from here. And so I know that it should go something like this, right? That's the curvature.
Now if we go back to this, let's draw in this vertical line and then the horizontal one. And then from here, remember, it should only be a little area like this. And so the curve should go all the way from there to here. Only living a little space. Can you see? let me know in the comments if this is making sense. And so the, this... The top part, I'm just doing it by intuition. But how did you get this intuition?
Again, you get to that intuition when you measure, what I just did, you just measure it again and again and again, and then you start to feel it like, "Hmm, no, the curve, it should go a little bit like this." So all these nine elements, I'm closing this, this series right now in this video, all these nine elements close like this. You remember everything is to help your disobedient hand. And the way you help it is you find the measurements and then you tell your hand: "no, no, no, not that way, this way." And then your hand, you will notice as you start developing your intuition and measuring again and again and again, you will notice that your hand suddenly starts to listen. It goes like: (HAND) "This way?" (YOU) "Yes, that way. You're doing great." And then your hand continues and remember a lot of the time you sometimes can get like maybe the curves in this drawing... What did Pacheco did correctly? Okay, so this is something he did correctly. Can you guess?
Hi, Mark Diaz here for 2DAnimation101.com, in this video, we're gonna talk about shading tones. Okay, so this is something that developing the sensibility for it is probably going to be a little bit difficult and it can take some time. But know this, you can develop that sensitivity. How? Well, by practicing and then evaluating and then practicing again, and then going, "Hmm..." Evaluating again, redoing and redoing, and with practice.
Remember "first you measure, then you feel it." That's how you build intuition. Okay, so let's talk about the shading. In this case I'm going to share with you one of the exercises. This is the actually the followup sheet of one of the lessons, right? And the shading. If you can look at it. There are a couple of problems with this drawing, but as you can see, one of the things that is correct is the cleaning lines. The lines are clean. Maybe the shape of this circles for the iris is not properly done. And also the thickness is wrong because we need this line to be a little bit thicker, but it's clean. It's... Compared with a sketch, this is actually pretty good. But the problem we are focusing on is the shading, it's just a couple of lines in here that is wrong.
The correct way to do these shading is to have, to have the lines. In this case, because the... I cannot do much shading is to have a darker part at the top, right? At the top should be darker, right? And the bottom should be lighter. Okay? So in this case you can see that the tone is basically almost the same and it's actually a little bit darker in this area, so the shading is wrong. Now let's compare this with this other drawing delivered by Novile.
As you can see, the exercise tells you that the top part should be a little bit darker and the lower part should be lighter. That was maintained here on the top is darker and the bottom is lighter. That's okay. That's correct. And if you're using not a pencil but a pen, the way you do it is that you just put the lines more closer together. And when you wanted lighter, you just leave more space in between the lines. Right? So this is how you achieve that effect. So that's it for the lesson. Remember, the way you measure the shading is just noticing the part that is darker and the part that is lighter. That's it. Just stop, visualize, reflect, and then say, "Hmm, this part is darker, and in my drawing, I got it wrong. The top part needs to be darker." Okay? And that's it.
Now in the next lesson, we're going to talk about curves. This is a complex thing to measure, but it is possible. And I'm going to teach you how, so see you in the next lesson.
Hi, Mark Diaz here for 2DAnimatoin101.com, in this video we're going to talk about element number seven, which is the line angles. This is very powerful to understand and it's very powerful to develop that sensitivity to the angles you see on the screen. Okay, so this kind of basic, if you are already really good. You can see an angle and then you can just draw a line in that exact angle. But when you're a beginner you don't have that sensitivity but you can develop it. Okay, so in all this training we are demystifying the myth of, "Oh no, I was not born with the talent, so I'm not good at drawing and that's my life." No! you, you can become good at drawing. Okay, you can become really good. So let's talk about, I don't want to get carried away with that, but let's talk about the line angles. In this case, let's focus on the angles for the chin. This is very important because when you make younger characters, the angles are more likely to be almost horizontal. And as they start to be older and older, the angles of the jaw go a little bit steeper like this. Okay. So that's really good to understand. And in this case, let's see this angle.
This is what we will consider an angle, right? So the way to visualize any angle is like this. You just draw an horizontal line, preferably with a ruler, and then you kind of see the angle in between those two points. And the best way, something that I also do is draw a vertical line. So in this case, I, this is something I do. I take this like this corner and then divide that in two, and that is a 45 angle degree, right? So because these are 45 I could say this is probably a 30 degree. It's not perfect. But yeah, it's probably a 30 degree angle right? Now. If you notice that, and then we go to this exercise done by one of our students, you can see that this angle compared with this other angle is wrong. Can you... Can you spot the difference? Right there! It's measurable.
And remember first you measure, then you feel it. That's how you build intuition. So in drawing, that's how you start to measure. Do measure the angles. Right now, I'm just sketching out. And later, if you have this digitally, you can draw on a piece of paper, then scan it or take a picture, put it in Photoshop. I'm going to teach you how to do it in Photoshop. You can use any other software, but in Photoshop I'm gonna show you how to exactly measure the degree, or on pencil and paper you can just get a 180 degree protractor. Just go to any stationary. But in this case, let's keep it simple and friendly.
And so you can see that this, I would say this is a 45 angle and this I would say is a 30 degree angle. So that is why the inclination of the line is wrong. This is the correct one. Now remember, a couple of things are going correctly because right now we're judging the line angles. But what happens, remember a drawing has multiple elements and one of the elements was spacing and placement. And as you can see in these drawing, the eyes are in the proper place. Yes. And also the spacing between those eyes is also correct. So we have a couple of things going on in these drawings that are correct. So what we're giving you is these nine elements, so you can kind of measure, well, not kind of, specifically measure what elements of your drawing are okay and what elements are not okay and can be improved. So right now we should give a high five to Basel, like, "Hey, you've got a couple of things, right, but careful with the line, they line angle, right there.".
So, that's it for this lesson. Remember, what you learn in the book, "The Art of Learning", you can read it, but the main lesson I want to give you is "first you measure, then you feel it." I have developed a sensitivity for angles because I have measured a lot, again and again and again. You can do the same. So that's it for this lesson. Now in the next one, we're going to talk about shading tones. See you in the next video.
